I got shingles in 2009, it unfortunately attacked a nerve in my eye. My blisters did not show up on my head until over a week after the pain started! The blisters were internal! Because I was only 35, my doctor did not think shingles until it was too late. Once he realized it was he sent me to an eye doc immediately.. Where I went for a few months and they just kept giving me different prescriptions and I had to go in weekly.. My insurance is awful so this was not going well. I switched to another referred eye doc then another.. All with the same outcome! Nothing was getting better! I was finally referred to Gustafson Eye Care by a friend, after the second visit they had me down to 1 medication and because my vision was about 20/150 most days they scheduled cataract surgery for me. (The cataract surgery was necessary due to all the drops I had been putting in my eye) they did the surgery, it went off without a hitch!! I could not be happier with their knowledge and expertise! Also, Cheryl is great as well as the very friendly front desk staff!! If you just need an eye doctor or if you are in "eye hell" like I was this is the place to go!!

Dealing with insurance is not my favorite pastime. Recently I had an issue with my insurance and their denial of reimbursement from prescription glasses I purchased. This was not due to any error of Gustafson staff, simply insurance being rediculous. Gustafson Eye Care could have easily written me off, it truly want their issue. Instead, they took extra time and lots of effort to be certain it worked out for my family! I cant thank them enough for all of their efforts!
