All about the $ I was asked if I was interested in Vizilite oral cancer screening 3 times before they even looked in my mouth. The last time I said No, they hygienist replied, “Can I ask why?” I told the hygienist her question offended me. She replied, “Don’t be offended. By law, I have to ask you.” First they took 20+ x-rays. Then they measured my gum pockets and gum recession. After that, I was told I have gum disease. I corrected the hygienist and said, “You think I have gum disease. She corrected me and said, “I know.” They then attempted to sell me a non-insurance covered antibiotic that would sit in the pockets of my gums for up to 30 days and kill the disease. I only approved the scaling treatment. I was surprised when they said they would do all 4 quadrants today. My experience with this procedure is one or two quadrants at a time; multiple doctor visits. They were done with my whole mouth in 30 minutes and it cost me $100 after insurance. While I was waiting for the doctor, a gnat was flying around my treatment room. I was told the reason I was waiting so long was they had lost my X-rays from one hour ago. When I said I want to leave, the receptionist told me “By law, you cannot leave until the doctor has seen you after a scaling treatment.” I went back to my chair and waited a few more minutes. I heard the doctor go to another patient. I got back up, told the receptionist the law was her problem, not mine, and I want to leave now. She said my bill was $100. I asked her to itemize it. When she did, she realized the doctor exam I never received was still on the bill. Oops. As I walked out, I locked eyes with the doctor. She said nothing. I was in the office for two hours and the doctor never said one word to me. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Watch your Wallet. The sales pitch starts as soon as you walk in the door. Cancer screeing, whitening, quarterly visits. On this visit I was their for a standard cleaning and exam. It quickly became Root Plaining and Arestin. I have insurance and told them as long as its covered they can go ahead. They assured me everything would be paid by my insurance. They lied. Now they are hounding me for payment and will not discuss the situation. Their are lots of Dentists I would advise avoiding this one.

Outstanding! I had a cavity that needed filled. The staff and Dr. Powers were professional and pleasant. As well, I recently needed a crown following a root canal and again the staff and Dr. Powers were courteous and professional. Both were very pleasant experiences under the circumstances (who likes to get fillings and crowns - other than perhaps Bill Murray in Little Shop of Horrors!)

I have to go to this dentist due to my insurance co. Every time I go you have to pay the full balance which is fine, But i still get a bill for more? They call the insurance co to see what is covered so why do I get another bill for more money??? I will not pay any extra !!!!!!! This is there mistake not mine. This happens every time I go. Wish I could find anther Dentist!!!!!!
