DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE, READ THIS FIRST!!!! Doesnt even deserve a one star rating. They lied to me about multiple things and took 3 days to get me a 1 page file on my 8 week old puppy who had his shots there. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS THERE!!! I cannot stress that enough, it is a cheaper vet from what the previous owner of my puppy says but if you care about your pets WHATSOEVER, DO NOT have their healthcare performed here. The quality of their life can be at risk with this vet and that is NOT an understatement, the quality of my dogs life has been compromised because a vet wanted to cover their mistakes by accusing the owners of lying and even wrote on his file "not truthful" when the concern WAS in fact brought to their attention. I believe this is the reason they did not want to send me his file and it took 3 days and 10+ phone calls to get. He had a fracture on his front left leg, which was wrapped in a cast and they told the previous owner it would be fine. He was also not using his back left leg for some reason which the vet swears was not brought up, however IT WAS IN THE FILE SCRATCHED OUT. So because this leg was not treated it will not heal properly and will be slightly turned out which could cause him pain throughout his entire life when he walks, runs, or moves it while stationary. They also were treating the other 4 puppies in the litter and almost gave one of the puppies 2 sets of worm medication, luckily the previous owner insisted she be taken back with the puppies and caught on before the vet administered the medication. To help keep it under wraps they gave her discounts and even a free visit for the cast to be re-wrapped and said "let it be water under the bridge". Well as long as I have access to the internet I will be spreading information to help other pet owners avoid this type of situation and prevent the risk of their pet having compromised life quality. I am serious, please, if you care about your pet one bit DO NOT take them to this vet!!!!

I took my 2 kittens and mother cat to get neutered and spayed. I went in to pick them up, they sat the cat carriers down and my dad took them to the vehicle. I went to pay then went outside to check on them in the car and 1 of my male kittens were dead. IT WAS DEAD IN THE CAT CARRIER! I WAS SO SHOCKED!! I sat in the car and cried while my father went in to get him so we could bury him at home. I called them the next day to get some answers, were they left in the cat carrier all day?, were they even checked on to make sure they were ok after surgery, NOBODY WOULD ANSWER MY QUESTIONS OR CALL ME BACK! I WILL NEVER, EVER GO BACK TO THEM AND TO MAKE IT ALL WORSE I EVEN DONATED ITEMS TO THEM SINCE IT WAS A LOW COST SHELTER, HOPING TO HELP THEM OUT! AND THIS IS WHAT I GET NO EXPLANATION FOR MY POOR KITTEN THAT WAS PASSED AWAY IN THE CAT CARRIER! PLEASE DO NOT RISK YOUR BELOVED PETS GOING THERE!

This place is a great place for ANIMAL CARE! You MUST keep in mind, they ARE extremely, busy. They ARE under an EXTREME time control.to see EACH AND EVERY ANIMAL and they do this , BECAUSE THEY CARE. It is not the largest of spaces, it is not the best smelling of spaces. It IS DISCOUNTED VETERINARY CARE for those who NEED help with vet expenses. The vets ARE caring, The staff ARE caring. They are double , triple and quadruple booked with patients....***** IF YOU BRING YOUR ANIMAL , ESP DOGS....BRING A LARGE COOLER OF ICE WATER WITH A WATER BOWL WITH YOU!!!!*******( I see so many people NOT bringing water or bowls for their dogs when they NEED WATER!! PLEASE, DO NOT FORGET. ...IF YOU ARE HOT AND THIRSTY SO IS YOUR DOG!!!

1 day after spaying & my dog had redness around incision. I woke up this morning & my dog has a fever already. Not very happy. Wondering what their surgery area looks like, they have dog cages with blankets in them & it didnt seem like they were cleaned in any way. they were haphazardly put here and there in the next room. I dont know if they used the same instruments for every incision, if the blankets were infected from them not being washed or the dog cages not wiped down with alcohol after every dog. I am not even going to give them a rating because it looks like a hack job to me. A place where you would get an abortion in a back alley in a bad neighborhood. :( I am very pissed off on how unkept the place was.

My small dog had a very large tumor. They were so helpful and got him in right away for surgery. Everyone was very kind to my family and our furbaby. The price was also easy on my wallet. I have also taken really sick stray kittens to them and they were more than happy to nurse them back to health and put them with some other litters they were already rescuing. This showed me that the employees really do care about the animals.. and its why they do what they do. Animal Care Alliance has also offered to loan me their traps so I can spay and neuter the strays around my house.. and I dont even live in Richmond! Calling to make another appointment to neuter a kitten. Clearly, I have been happy with them thus far.

The staff and Dr Cayard have always been very caring and wonderful to my pets and myself. I have taken several dogs here to be spayed/neutered. I had an emergency with one of my dogs that had been attacked by 3 dogs. It was around 6:30 in the evening. I called all of our local vets and they either didnt answer or told me they were closed. I called ACA and told them what happened and they told me to come on over and they would call Dr Cayard to come back in. She did come back in for the sake of my dog even though there was nothing they could do for her. They were all very compassionate about my situation. ACA is an excellent place to take your animals for their care.

The workers are the best, and the Doctor is the best. She hugs and gives you comfort when you need it. They have taken care of my Dogs for years. My little one Momo had diabetes, she lived to be 13 years old. I lost her while I was on vacation 10/22/2016 I think she would still be here if I would have left her here, but I cant look back, she might have passed anyway. I miss her so much, I am toying if I want to get another dog but if I do I will bring it here for there care. I have always been treated so kind and my dog was treated like she was three

Although the building is small, and the waiting room also serves as the general examination room, I felt the veterinarian and staff were absolutely the most caring and helpful of the veterinarians we have visited. The costs were low with very reasonable rates for spaying and neutering your pet. I am so pleased we drove the extra miles based on a suggestion made by someone who used the services! Maybe not for everyone, but I felt so comfortable with the staff who obviously care strongly for the well-being of animals!
