Horrible!! I took in a stray cat, so I took the cat to Springhurst where they told me the cat wasnt microchipped and that it was a girl. So I took the cat back for shots and a wellness exam where they again informed me that my cat was a girl and gave me a quote for declaw, spay, and microchip. I brought my cat back there the next day to get the surgeries and they called to inform me that my cat was a boy, who had previously been neutered. The horrible part was, they couldnt figure that out until AFTER they cut open my cat! The vet then told me that they other vet thought he was a she and this is the 2nd time in 14 years this has happened to her! This did not comfort me and if I was her, I would be too embarrassed to admit that this had previously happened. To make matters worse, when I went to pick up my kitty my bill was more expensive than previously quoted, and this was even after they deducted the "spaying" from my bill. They added charges that they never quoted or consulted me on and the things that they did quote a certain price for, they ended up charging me a higher price. Not to mention they lied about not giving my pet any pain medicine after surgery and that if I wanted him to have any meds then I would have to add another $30 to my bill. If not, then my cat would go without until I picked him up and gave him the medicine myself. Naturally, I didnt want my cat in pain for 2 days so I agreed to added charge only to find out that they were giving him medicine the whole time. When I picked up my cat, I obviously disputed my bill, but was told I could not speak with anyone about it until the next day and if I wanted to take my cat home... that I had to pay the bill. So first they lied to me, then they tried to spay my already neutered cat, and then they held my cat for ransom basically! My husband spoke with the owner who was completely non-apologetic and would only refund us a small portion of our money back. He obviously had no concern for what they put my cat through and did not value his customers. I would never recommend this place! Beware... you may take your pet in there a girl and it comes out a boy!

After moving to Kentucky from another state, I chose this office based on reviews and location. While my visits have been pleasant and the staff has been friendly, I question a few things that could have been done differently. First of all, shortly after my first visit here, I decided to use their boarding service. I wasnt informed until I actually dropped my two dogs off that they would be in separate kennels, which is not okay. Considering my plans required me to immediately leave for my trip as soon as I dropped them off, I didnt have time to make other arrangements. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time; I havent boarded with this clinic since. Secondly, the first time I came here for vaccines for my two dogs, they never reviewed which vaccines they were giving my dogs, but instead just went ahead and did it. A discussion beforehand would have prevented my boys from getting unnecessary vaccines! Thirdly, I was just notified that their Bordatella vaccine is a 6 month vaccine instead of the 12 month that my previous vet administered. Whats absurd is that the receptionist was not able to provide any reasons showing this to be medically beneficial or necessary. The office, however, will benefit from charging me for another office call, not to mention I have to take time out of my busy schedule for another appointment. Overall, I dont think Id put this office on the top of my recommendations for veterinary care. I prefer offices that dont hide things and are a bit more proactive in disclosing important information.

For the past 12+ years we have been taking our dogs to Springhurst Animal Hospital. The staff treats our pets like their own & the doctors are fantastic. I can not think of one thing they could improve on. We have had some really sick babies & they took wonderful care of them & held our hands through some difficult moments. Dr. Hankins is a great doctor & one of the kindest people I know. I cant say enough about him. We have used the kennel & groomer as well - both being top notch. All the techs are so loving to our dogs! It makes leaving them a little easier knowing they are well cared for. The front desk personnel couldnt be more professional & helpful. They always have a smile & are willing to help you with what you need. Making appointments to answering questions about medicine. And they have a fantastic dog trainer on site who is very helpful for new puppies or issues your dog may have. He truly is a "dog whisperer"! 5 Stars arent enough.

AFTER MOVING HERE IN 2005 FROM LEXINGTON KY., WERE VETS. ARE PAID LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO WORK ON MILLION DOLLAR HORSES. I CAN TESTIFEE THAT DR. STELLO AND HER STAFF ARE THE BEST VETS. I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. HER EXPERTEES IN DIAGNOSING PROBLEMS AND ILLNESSES THAT BAFFUL MOST IN HER FIELD IS UNPERRALL. SHE TREATS YOUR ANIMAL AS IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD. FOR IN MANY CASES IT TRULY IS A FAMILY MEMBER AND A COMPANION FOR MANY CLIENTS WHO HAVE NO ONE ELSE. ANYONE THAT CAN GET EXCEPTED INTO HER CARE CAN BE ASSURED THAT YOUR PET IS IN GOOD HANDS AND YOUR CONCERNS ARE HERS. SHE WILL BECOME YOUR CONCELLER, YOUR VET. AND AFTER YOU SEE THE LOVING CARE YOU GET. SHE WILL BECOME YOUR FRIEND.

I have 2 German Shepherds and one has Wobblers Syndrome and had a bad relapse last year and Dr. Keehner and all the staff were so awesome and caring!! They really helped him (and me) get through it. After a round of steroids and acupuncture and now hes back to his normal happy healthy self!! I recently moved here and after his surgery I was concerned about finding a good vet, well I found a really great vet and wont trust the care of any of my German Shepherds to anyone else!! Appointments are easy to get, they are knowledgeable, caring and love all the pets they see!!

We have been coming to Springhurst Animal Hospital for many years and the doctors and staff have always been wonderful. The thing that stands out the most is the compassion and understanding from all the doctors and staff. Willie, Kanu, Max, Jerry and Aspen have all been treated as the kings and queens that they are! Dr. Stello has been our doctor most of the time and she always takes time to explain things and listen to our needs. I have never felt rushed or overlooked. Our pets are treated like they are special and valued every time!

After buying my first house and searching for a new Vet closer to home to take my dog Sadie to, (shes my heart and soul...just ask anyone who knows me at all ❤️) I couldnt be happier with the treatment she has received here. From the time I walked in, even on her very first visit, it was like we had been coming there forever. Such friendly and knowledgable staff! Dr. Keehner is the most outgoing and loving doctor, and I fully trust Sadies health and wellness under her care. I highly recommend Springhurst Animal Hospital!
