I had lived with headaches and severe neck pain for a couple of years. I had been going to a chiropractor where I was cracked weekly (sometimes a couple of times a week) to help with the pain, but it was only temporary relief. I had X-rays and a CT scan done to see if there was anything that would show up that could be causing the pain, but nothing could be found. My family doctor wanted to put me on very strong daily prescription pain medication. I had tried so many things, and I wasnt getting any relief. My dad (who is also a patient) suggested that I make an appointment to see Dr. Read to see if she could help. I am excited and proud to tell you that I have little to no pain in my neck, and my headaches are gone. Its unbelievable how a gentle touch can make such a difference! Dr. Read is a miracle worker, and I have referred several friends to her for their pain and discomfort. Its so amazing how much more I enjoy life without the annoyance of the pain that prevented me from doing everyday activities. Thank you, Dr. Read.

I have been a patient of Dr. Reads for several years. After a few months I began to notice that after she corrected my alignment, my body, posture, movement felt "different"......better! Now I can tell almost immediately when something has happened to put out my alignment, and I go to her as soon as possible. The biggest surprise for me has been that after a period of time, I realized that I was sleeping better. I had had chronic sleep-onset insomnia for many years, and had given up on improvement. But now my sleep is markedly improved and overall Im feeling very good. Im very thankful for the opportunity to be treated by Dr. Read. When I first came to Dr Read I was experiencing migraines, back and sciatic pain. With her caring manner and gentle NUCCA treatments I literally feel younger when I walk out the door. Not "beat up" and ran over like other Chiropractors. After four back surgeries and wearing a brace below my knee, Barb/NUCCA care has helped me become stronger. Barb and her staff are amazing! I can be in such awful shape that I have to be driven to her office and after her care I can feel the blood rush to my head. Rachael arranges my appointment that best fits my schedule. As everyone knows, when youre feeling crummy, you want to feel better ASAP. You want your life back!!

I have two deteriorating discs in my neck and for years the pain was very difficult to tolerate. I just wanted to remove my head every night and avoid the discomfort I experienced. I dont want to sound like a commercial, but the difference Dr. Read has made in my life is profound. I can go for several weeks and sometimes months without hurting. I can sleep! No matter what I tried in the past, I never got relief in the way I have with my treatments from Dr. Read. If you think you have untreatable pain, please consider what the NUCCA method can do for you.

When I first met Dr. Read, my health was a mess. I was trying different things, but nothing seemed to work. I was skeptical of the NUCCA approach, but didnt have much to lose at that point. Its over 2 years since I started, and I am amazed at how the curvature of my spine has changed and is still changing. I went from having headaches most days to hardly any at all. I had serious digestive issues, now I have few. I am very glad I tried NUCCA and that I stuck with it. It is the best thing Ive found for long-term sustainable health.

Both doctors at Read Heath Center are friendly, caring, professional people. I never waited long in the waiting area and it wasnt too hard to get appointments. Rachel, the office manager, is also great and super friendly! I used their chiropractic care once or twice a week for about 4 months and some good results at times but in the end I found that a different style of chiropractic care seemed to tackle my particular problems better this time around. I sure wouldnt hesitate to go back again for a different problem though.

Ive suffered migraines all my life and have tried many different types of medical treatments and medications. Dr. Read, using her NUCCA technique, has made a tremendous difference in my quality of life. I highly recommend NUCCA to others but have found that its not available nationwide and I hope that changes. It is a very gentle technique (I havent really liked other chiropractic in the past) and hopefully more chiropractors will learn it and make it available. Dr. Read is very personable and caring and her staff is terrific.

I have been going to Dr. Barb Read for over a year. The experience is very different than the conventional chiropractor. Now, there is nothing wrong with conventional, but N.U.C.C.A is much gentler with faster & longer results. Dr. Read has an outstanding practice, the care of her patients always comes first, there is an excellent balance of friendly yet professionalism, and her experience in this field is at the top. I definitely tell everyone about Dr. Read.

I was continually having issues with my neck from an old whiplash (car accident). My friend told me about Dr. Read. She has relieved my stiff neck greatly by the N.U.C.C.A method, but an added bonus was that I did NOT have to have my torn meniscus surgery after a series of treatments by Dr. Read. My knee healed. I wish I would have know about her before I had the surgery on my other knee! I especially like the gentle way she adjusts you-no cracking!

I went to Dr Barbara at the suggestion of my sister. I was tired of going to the chiropractor and having my back and neck adjusted just to turn around and go back sometimes two or three times the next week. After going to Dr Read and getting into her program once I was adjusted and it was set I didnt go back for another six months. Now it has been almost seven months since my last adjustment! No more popping or cracking for me

You will not believe the results that you will receive at the Read Health Center in Ames Iowa. It is hard to explain but just read the information they have posted on their web site. I can only vouch for the fact that for years I would have on again, off again lower back pain. After Dr. Read determined the real problem and corrected my alignment I have not had to have any follow-up treatments.

I first visited with Barb about my right side hurting. (Hip, and knee) She said she would see me initially and diagnose whether she could help me or not. After x-rays and observations she said she could help me and explained all about procedures and payments. The adjustments helped so much and were not painful at all! I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

As a new patient over the past month, I have found that after just a few treatments that my symptoms have disappeared and I am feeling much better. No pain in my feet, hip or legs. Big misalignments cured in just a few very gently treatments. Dr. Read truly knows her profession and can effect a cure. Very professional treatments by staff and doctors.
