Great experience the past 4 months! Definitely recommend to others!! I adopted a male kitten a few months ago at the same time I moved to Iowa City and was referred to All Pets by a couple that has 2 dogs and used them for years with great results. I have been to All Pets every few weeks to get all the necessary vaccinations/check-ups new kittens require, plus had them front declaw and neuter our little guy. The staff is extremely friendly (Lisa is GREAT) and I saw the same vet Dr. Grettinger (sp?) for every visit. I asked up front for how much everything would cost, received a written list of charges from a staff member, and was charged that same amount (no surprises here!) They even advised me to the "must-haves" and extras - not scaring me into getting things I didnt necessarily need for my kitten since I am on a budget.

This clinic had provided our dog with a good place to stay until the summer of 2016 when we left him in the care of these professionals for 2 weeks. They knew his history of anxiety and he also had developed pancreatitis which we made them aware of as well. He was on a vet recommended food, which my daughter portioned out carefully into three small meals per day before we left on our trip. When we returned to pick him up, he was emaciated and had lost almost 4 pounds. He is only an 18 pound dog. When I called to ask why they starved my dog, they said "he was barking and jumping a lot." And this is a reason you do not feed a dog. Hershey is now at a healthy weight, but please beware and think twice if you plan to leave your dog who may suffer from anxiety with these people!

We received a quick appointment when our cat needed prompt attention. The care was exactly what wed hoped for. The doctor did a thorough examination, advised us on all the actions he wanted to take, and cleared optional care before proceeding. Some of the maintenance (following treatment) involves a particular diet, which some might see as pushing product, but our previous vet (one whose rural business was based more on large animals) had suggested the exact same thing. In all, we were extremely pleased not only with the care given to our pet, but to the quality of information given which allowed us to decide on the level of diagnostics and treatment performed, and the subsequent information to help us manage the condition. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience at All Pets. I called about an appointment to get my cat in and they squeezed me in much earlier then they had available. I had only heard positive things about their office and now I know why. The front receptionist was wonderful and explained all costs to me prior to the appointment. I knew exactly the cost before my cat went back. When I came to pick my cat up, after 3 extractions, she was not fearful and I could tell she was comfortable with the staff (this was only after 8 hours). The doctor came out and talked to me for about 15-20 minutes and gave me a follow-up call to make sure my cat was OK. I would recommend them to anyone who asks!!!

All of my pets---multiples of them--were patients of All Pets for over a decade--- that is, until I had a dire emergency. The morning before I was to fly out of town, 3 pups developed kennel cough. No one, not the young woman who answered the phone, nor clinic manager Lisa saw it fit to "fit"me in, even though I called 1st thing and they had an entire day to do so---"Nope, sorry, were booked"---and even though, they are by far one of the most, if not the most, expensive vet clinic in town I had spent thousands, and would have contd to spend thousands, because I was a loyal customer.

I was new to the area and my cat had stopped eating and was clearly quite ill. They insisted that if I could not produce his vaccination records they would have to be "brought up to date" before any treatment could be done. It wasnt clear if the cat was even going to survive, yet they would not see him without first doing what would probably have been several hundred dollars in unneeded vaccinations. Thats not pet care, its cash grab.

I came in with a sick cat we werent sure what was wrong with him. The secretary and vet immediately treated him as if he were their own pet they were very blunt in telling me what could be wrong with him and I highly enjoyed that. Prices may have been steep but I have no expertise in the vet world so dont take my word for it. Told me to call them back and let them know how my cat was doing. Will come back again

The fees are extraordinary. I was charged a $40 fee for a call back on blood test results, in addition to the $75 fee for the test. This call lasted at most 2 minutes. I was charged for an exam for my animal when I did not request an exam, the exam was done in the back room, not in my presence, and I was not advised in advance that an exam was required. They also charge a $15 fee to fax prescriptions.

I took my kitten to all pets, knowing he was sick. They gave him dewormer, eye drops, and a distemper shot, and said he was totally fine, just needed to work through a cold. He died a couple days later. This vet didnt even check him. Just gave him some dewormed and a shot and charged $130 to tell me hes perfectly fine and not to worry. I will NEVER use this vet again.

The drs. might have changed since I was a client, but at the time they failed to diagnose a problem that ultimately killed my 7 year old cat. Later, when I wanted her records--with no bad intentions--I found that they had falsified them--likely in fear of a lawsuit or something ridiculous that would never have considered. Really traumatic experience.

They have always treated my cat right. There has only been one time when she had a poor reaction to some shots (she had never had them before), and they watched her for the entire next day, monitored her fever, and gave her antibiotics that worked wonders. Importantly, they have worked well with my budget, especially when the shots got her sick.

I agree with overcharging and charging for services not requested! however what shocked me the most is after a $270 bill for my sick cat they never called back to see how my cat was..,.they only contacted me when new shots were due! I will never, ever go back and will tell Facebook and everyone I know of my experience!!

We have been going to All Pets for years through 5 different cats. All of the staff has been wonderful to all of them and especially with the passing of the two oldest in the past. They are great with handling our questions and concerns, even giving difficult advice. I consider our family life-long patients!

Its difficult to find a vet who knows how to help small pets like hamsters. We tried one clinic before calling All Pets, and the vet there saw a dwarf hamster for the first time. After that we took our hamsters to All Pets 2 times, and liked Dr. Graettinger a lot. He was helpful and caring.
