Whatever you do, dont go here. I had used Dr Young a couple of times in 2013. I never had any problems until that point, although I always felt like she didnt do a thorough enough exam. I took my oldest cat (only 10 at the time) in there in early August of 2014 because she had developed a pea size mass on her neck. Dr Young aspirated it, found nothing and proceeded to tell me it was a benign cyst. My gut told me there was something great going on, but I am not a vet, so I trusted her. Two weeks later, the mass had grown to the size of a dime. I went to the afford a vet on Richmond rd for a second opinion. They also aspirated it, but first they gave my cat benadryl to help hold the cells of the mass together for a better sample. Dr Young did NOT do this. Cancer cells were found in the aspiration, and they sent off another sample for additional testing. When the results came back a week later, the mass was a malignant melonoma tumour. NOT a benign cyst. Afford a vet doesnt perform surgery, so I went to Clays Mill Vet clinic. By the time they had examined her and she went into surgery, the tumour was the size of a quarter. Unfortunately they were not able to remove all of the tumour because it was getting into her spine by this point. The surgeon told me had the tumour been smaller, he could have removed it entirely. As it turned it, my lovely Miss Honor died in May of 2015. Had one SIMPLE test been done properly by Dr Young, my cat might still be alive. So please. Do not go here. Do not risk your pets life because this place is convenient to your home. I highly recommend Clays Mill, but just go anywhere but Scott county.

We took our dog to be seen for several days of not eating, weakness, and lethargy. The Vet that came in was terrible. Her assessment took around 45 seconds, and she barely touched him. After blood work and fecal revealed nothing acute, so decided that he needed "more" blood work to test his Thyroid and told us how much the medicine is and how often we would come back to recheck (she wanted to start him on the medication right away with the more in depth test also). She also gave hime antibiotics, nausea medication, and powder to sprinkle on food. We both felt right away this was not right! Next morning our dog could barely walk. We took him to another vet in Lexington who took exceptional care of him. The vet did a PROPER assessment and found he is having back pain. He got a steroid shot in the office with pills to take home, including nerve pain medication. After one day of treatment and our boy is eating and moving better. We were also advised to stop all medication the first vet gave us. So we were out $290.00 for the visit to Scott County Vet. We called and asked for at least a partial refund since there diagnosis and treatment plan was so far off, but I will let you guess how that went. We asked for a return call from the primary vetinarian to file a complaint for such terrible care and assessment, but never received a call. They got there $290.00 out of us, and that is all that matters to them!

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Completely incompetent veterenarian. Cost us a ton of money to end up just throwing an antibiotic at the situation and see what happens. I HOPE EVERYONE CAN SEE THIS REVIEW! I could have diagnosed my animal better than the vet did and she hardly touched the dog. I will give a review on whatever website I can! I tried to take care of the problem with the head of the office and they did not call back. Wait... they did call back when I told them I was bringing their meds back because my "second opinion" diagnosed my dog with a SPINAL INJURY not a "stomach bug!" So they called me back to tell me no we cant take your meds back! I hope no one uses them!!

I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE STAR, "HATED IT", IN ORDER TO POST MY REVIEW...I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED AN ADDITIONAL OPTION TO INDICATE A WARNING. MY SONS DOG, "CHARLIE", JUST DIED FROM PARVO; THEY DID NOT TEST FOR IT WHEN HE WAS TAKEN THERE DUE TO A SUDDEN ONSET OF ILLNESS EVEN THOUGH HE PRESENTED WITH PARVO SYMPTOMS. THEIR REASON FOR NOT DOING THE PARVO TEST??? THEY "DIDNT FEEL IT WAS NECESSARY" AND DISMISSED SAME AS A "MISCOMMUNICATION" BETWEEN THE OFFICE MANAGER AND MY SON RE: "CHARLIES" CARE???!!! MISCOMMUNICATION, REALLY??? A FAMILY MEMBER IS NOW LOST TO US FOR ALL ETERNITY...THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE TRUSTING THIS CLINIC WITH THE LIFE OF YOUR BELOVED PETS!!!

Pet owner beware---not having a vet in town and new to the community. l chose this company. My beloved Daisy was sick, very sick, they ran tests galore. l felt that l was a ticking money clock. So l made the hard decision to have her put to sleep, never did the vet introduce himself.. and right before the needle went in l put my hand out and finally said-- nice to meet you. l was overcharged this place is a money maker period... and too boot, do you think for one minute l GOT A CONDOLENCE CARD , BEING A NEW CUSTOMER? NO!

Everyone here is great! They all take great care of you and your furkids. Dr. Young is the best vet I have ever had. She always calls and checks on my dogs if I had to bring them in for anything. You can see how they all love what they do and love all the animals and owners that they deal with. They will also meet you anytime of night if you have an emergency. The GREATEST PLACE TO GO TO. My dogs are always excited to go and see everyone there. I love everybody there and wouldnt ever change.

we have an old dog who is moving slower these days. when we had an emergency, the staff were right there for us and walked us through how to care for him. we have since brought our entire pack there for all their checkups and shots. the facility is beautiful, the prices are highly affordable, and the vet is so good with our very finicky pets. love this place.

Scott County Veterinary Clinic has cared for our family member since he was a Puppy. The staff is always friendly and compassionate. Couple days after we went in for a routine check up and shots, they called to check to make sure he was doing well. Thank you Dr. Young for taking good care of Willie.
