WORST ALL-AROUND DENTIST OFFICE Ive EVER visited - in any of the 4 stated Ive resided. I wish I could rate them zero stars. "Dr." Elrods condescending chair-side manner, inept dentistry skills, coupled with a rude office manager, shady billing/account practices create a most DEPLORABLE office. It was my great misfortune of having Aspen Dental as the ONLY dentist within our insurances network within a 150 mi. radius, at the time. Initially, it seemed okay...the office appeared to be clean, staff was friendly enough (more on that later) & we were typically seen by his hygienist or his female associate dentist (whos long gone now). Once Elrod started seeing us we each recd costly, ever-changing treatment plans. His office staff would be replaced with completely new staff from visit to visit-some friendly, others NOT AT ALL. My heart went out to those w/fixed incomes or lacking insurance when staff would blurt out how much they owed or needed to pay to be seen, right out in the reception area without discretion. No need for that embarrassment. Treatment by Elrod was the WORST part!! During my 19 yr olds teeth cleaning he claimed she had microscopic cavities between her teeth, where braces had been. He proceeded to fill each of them. It was later discovered he used the wrong shade/color of filling and her once beautiful teeth looked horrendous. Hundreds of dollars later and hundreds more to another dentist it has since been corrected. His treatment plan didnt sync with the actual treatment recd. He prefers to pull teeth versus save them; his staff hipped me to this, saying "he LOVES pulling teeth - its his favorite thing to do". He pulled 2 of my wisdom teeth AND a surprise extra tooth beside it, HE thought looked "problematic". I was his last appt before he left for a 2 week vacation to Haiti with his dental assistant. In his haste to depart he didnt stitch it, just left a gaping hole where 2 teeth side by side had been, that resulted in a double dry-socket. AGONY - that had to remain untreated because he was on vacation. $$$$ partial plate that I was forced to buy was NOT MY selection and was such poor quality that it never fit properly. (It was later deemed "junk quality" by another reputable dentist. Elrod cracked a healthy tooth while placing a crown on another and said, "itll be fine"; which later became a surprise dental/sinus abscess - MORE agony! He dropped the numbing syringe IN my mouth. YES you read that correctly. Forget your x-rays - they will never be sent or forwarded to your new dentist. And finally the business staff...the continual "employee house-cleaning" must be a shoddy business tactic, because from staff to staff they could NEVER get my insurance billed correctly; despite new insurance cards presented, a letter and phone call from our new provider (Anthem) and repeated attempts to rectify it with their corporate...all to no avail. Collectively our family paid Aspen Dental thousands of dollars during our 2 years as unfortunate patients. I wouldnt recommend even my worst enemy to EVER visit this office.

Aspen Dental really needs to be investigated BADLY. I thought this place was goino to be great. I knew two people who worked there when they first opened and the longer they were there the more they learned about how horrible these people are. First off, Aspen is a chain of dental offices. They are all over the place. Secondly, their dentists are not actually dentists. Some are just hygienists. Some are nowhere near ready to graduate dental school, some had just started school. Aspen is where they practice being a dentist while we are paying for what we think are real dentists but are not. I do not lIke paying a doctor or dentist price when a PA or Nurse practitioner is doing the work. This place needs to be shut down. Hopefully with all of these dental offices popping up everywhere in Paducah they will shut down. Their entire staff, the salesman who thinks hes selling used cars, the hygienists, x-ray etc everyone of them are absolutely awful. They are clueless. I wish I knew all of this before I went and let them ruin my smile. I was never completely done. My teeth are still not right. My appointment was on 12/31/2010. I will never go back to them. I will not pay the remaining balance either. They never fixed my dentures. They were never ever right. Aspen is the wort and every person who works there are complete idiots.

On an earlier post, I stated I mistrusted their diagnosis, but they were correct and I retract my earlier statement. However, my complaints are: 1) I didnt like the doctors bedside manner. He made a condescending statement about my teeth. 2) At the end of my appointment, he seemed to use a sales tactic that appeared as though he were saying that I would be required to pay for the dental treatment plan, when in fact, I knew it to be optional. 3) I had too difficult a time getting a legitimate copy of my X-rays. They ordered them from HQ and they never came in the mail. Then when I asked them about it, they said there was no record in the system, that after they order the X-rays, the request disappears in the system and they have no way of tracking it. (Come on, this is 2016). On the other hand, I gave them one star because they did give me a very thorough exam, supposedly free, but the hidden cost was aggressive sales tactics, condenscending bed manner, and a lot of red tape which resulted in me ultimately going to another dentist who could email my X-rays the same day (like you ought to be able to do in 2016 with digital X-rays).

Absolutely unprofessional and useless. Talking to them was like dealing with a scam company. The guy on the phone gave me NO information, no help and all he did was constantly push me to come in for a "FREE Consultation". No questions answered, no "service", NOTHING. Then I called the Number below that the owner suggested, to report the atrocious experience with this sham of a company. First off, the guy doesnt even get my name right after 3 times of telling him, then he proceeds to patronize me for 15 mins and argue with me about what sort of care I need. DO NOT go to this dentist!!! Pull your teeth with a string and a door before stepping foot in their office or giving them ANY of your money. DO NOT let these (most likely paid) reviews fool you, like they did me. They are in NO WAY professional, helpful and provide no "customer service".

The post of this dental clinic may have been true in the past, but I went there on 6/9/16 and the whole staff were great, which by the way is new and they run things very professional, the dentist was more than nice to me and my wife he treated me as if I was family, and his dental assistant was a very lovely girl who was very professional, shoot she even took time to look at some of my family photos, I appreciate people who care about you and not just come in and go about their business and send you off. So I say that sometimes reviews may not be entirely correct, so give them a try again, and "get your smile on" you wont be sorry! Love you guys at Aspen!
