Dr. Henry is a miracle worker. When my Johns Hopkins spine surgeon said I needed surgery for my c-spine trauma, I was ready to book the surgery appt. When I the surgeons office, he told me to let him know when I cant tolerate the pain levels any longer, and wed move forward w/surgery. I asked the surgeon, "What should I avoid?" and he said do whatever I can tolerate (swim, yoga, run, jog, work, etc.) and when I asked him about trying Chiropractic care he said "NO". So I thought to myself, "Ok, Im on the road to surgery, and I know where this goes. Even though my surgeon said no Chiro, Im trying it anyway...because I have NOTHING to lose...Im already in pain, numb, tingles, cannot sleep hardly at all at night, and I didnt want to live on pain management drugs. So, I got Dr. Henrys info from a friend, and I called for my first Chiro appt. First, there was Denise. She is so wonderful! She spoke to me with such caring and kindness, like shed known me for years (Id never met her) and she made the entire scheduling/insurance review seamless. I got in their quicker than I thought I could, but wow was I nervous. I knew I had to try Chiro, because maybe, just maybe, it would work. I met with Dr. Henry, and they have a timely-running office. I was nervous, and he discussed my c-spine trauma issue, the MRI, and how he would treat me. No promises, but I believed he could help over time. I showed me a tool he uses for adjustment, called an activator, and told me that he would make very mild adjustments using this tool. He showed he how it worked, and what it would feel like...very mild...so I said ok. That first visit he adjustment me with the activator. We talked more, and I would come back 2 more times that week, and continue that schedule. He then escorted me to meet with Deborah, his Assistant. She was very nice, professional, and thorough. She hooked me up to a TENS unit, along with moist heat, and I relaxed for that treatment. Next, she showed me 5 exercise that I would learn and do at home/work 2x daily. She didnt just show me...she walked through each exercise WITH me, so that I learned it, and sent me home with instructions. I then schedule my next visits, and went back to work (I did all this on my extended lunch hour). Let me tell you...I SLEPT BETTER THAT NIGHT THAN I HAD IN WEEKS! So I thought, "YES - Chiropractic care IS going to work for me!" and thats the attitude I had for weeks. I believe within 2 months, Dr. Henry had taken me from being not able to sleep, in pain, pins and needles, to 95% better. It is now four months later, as I write this. I am still 95% better. There is NO pain. I sleep at night. I dont take the pain drugs anymore. I do have slight pins/needles, depending on how I sit at work/home, and I subconsciously compensate for that to remove the feeling. I visit his office every third week for, as I call it, maintenance. Dr. Henry is truly a miracle worker. He helped me when no one else could. He is the reason I am not getting a spinal surgery. Thank you Dr. Henry and staff :-)

It all starts with the staff. No matter how good the doctor is, if the staff is belligerent or insensitive the office will fail. The office administrator here, Denise, is outstanding. Great attitude and professional disposition. She sent all of my paperwork days ahead of my first visit via email. Then she sent me my insurance/payment breakdown. When I was sick I found it necessary to communicate via email again. I received a response within minutes (try that with some other offices or facilities--I dare you). Then there is Deborah, the therapy specialist, with the same attitude and professionalism as well as great understanding of managing pain. Last but not least is Dr Henry, a man who lived in and around this community and has his practice here. That says a lot! I came in with severe degenerative disk disease from L3 to L5 and beginning to affect L2. (two back surgeries and some hardware remaining in my back) I was in level 8 pain with severe spasms almost constantly. Anyone who lives with pain knows that when you reach that point you cant sleep and you just barely manage daily functions. After the second treatment on the table, the spasms had decreased by 80%. I was very skeptical of chiropractors but I have been through pain management and therapy but you reach a point where they no longer have any effect. I am still in treatment with Dr Henry and I have a much brighter outlook on my future. I wholeheartedly recommend this doctor and his staff.
