I echo the other reviews on this page. Dr. Tony Kannarkat is sexually inappropriate and sexually molests women who come into his office. Im 28 now, but I mustve been about 19 or 20 years old when my mother brought me into Dr. Kannarkats office to have a routine checkup. I had two visits to the office. On one occasion, as a part of "a breast exam," Dr. Tony Kannarkat asked me to bend over, with my hands on top of my head, while he felt my breasts up from a position behind me. I was totally topless. Nothing about the position was necessary for a routine breast exam. It was totally uncalled for and inappropriate--what he was doing was sexually molesting me. The only reason I let it happen is because I was young and naive. I hadnt been to a doctor since I was a child and thought it was normal for a doctor to be able to see you unclothed without a dressing gown present. Plus, Dr. Kannarkat is an unassuming man. He wasnt aggressive, instead, he used his medical profession as a guise to get me to undress. During the first visit, he saw I had a small mole right below my armpit. He asked if I wanted it removed. I said yes. He scheduled me for another appointment. The time he scheduled was just past regular office hours, maybe around 5:30pm. No other patients were in the office, no receptionist was at the desk. No one was there but me and Dr. Kannarkat. It was definitely strange that we were alone, but again I was young, I hadnt been to a doctor in a long time, I thought maybe it was normal. The mole was just under my armpit, right under my braline. He had me take off my shirt and undo my bra to remove my mole. In the process of removing the mole, the bra came off. After he removed my mole he started asking about other issues, and then asked if I had any issues with vaginal discharge. I said yes, sometimes I do have vaginal discharge, which is totally a normal thing for women to have, but again, I was young and naive. I didnt know this was normal and no cause for concern. This was his excuse to ask me to take off my pants so he could examine me. At this point, Im totally topless. If I took off my pants and underwear so that he could do this examination, I would have been totally naked, with no one but him and me in the office. Thats when I panicked, said I was uncomfortable, and made and excuse to leave. He took advantage of me and Im sure he has taken advantage of countless other women who trusted that a licensed doctor would never use his position to molest and sexually harass women. Im sure its happened to many women since. In the car, my mom told me it would be his word against mine, so I didnt say anything. If this has happened to you recently, please report it. This guy should have his license revoked and should not be allowed to see any other patients.

I have ADD and when I moved to the MD area, I went to this doctor for general checkups and my prescription refills for Adderall. On 3 occasions I went into his office, first for a general exam, then 2 more times for a consultation in his office. He proceeded to conduct a pelvic and breast "exam" with no female nurse present, even after I told him that it wasnt necessary. This made me feel very on edge, but I was not aware of Maryland Medical Association guidelines at the time, and he is a very sweet Doctor with a kind disposition, so I shook it off. I then had a car accident, and while he checked me for spinal injuries, he again conducted a "breast" examination with no female nurse present. The next time I came into his office it was for a consultation for my Adderall prescription, and no physical exam was required. He took out his stethoscope, lifted my shirt and bra and felt me up in the areas underneath. Then he proceeded to write my prescriptions. I felt that this was not protocol for a consultation, and that he was simply trying to molest me. I have not gone back since. I have tried to call for my claim information, my bloodwork information, and to have my prescriptions refilled but he refuses to do this over the phone, saying that I "do not need an Adderall prescription" and that he can not access my other information. He also stated that he was not authorized to refill a narcotic prescription through fax to a pharmacy, but every other doctor Ive called regarding this situation has told me that he is authorized, and if he is not present, then he should have an authorized person in his office to send the prescription to a pharmacy. I am documented being diagnosed and treated for ADD since 12 years old, and Dr. Kannarkat, as well as my previous GP have this information on file. I strongly feel that because I would not come into his office where he could feel me up, he has decided to deny me of my medical treatment and medical information. I highly recommend that no women or their daughters go to this doctors practice until he keeps a female nurse present while conducting pelvic or breast exams.

Oh my God! I had the exact same experience!!! I was new in town and in my 20s when I visited for something totally unrelated to breasts. But he lifted my top and bra, started pressing my breasts. I was traumatized for 2-3 days as I was never treated that way by a male doctor before. I am very particular that only my gynac( female) performs such exams. But he did it without even giving me a heads up!! Pervert!!! Absolutely pervert Dr. I will never revommend him to female patients!!

Every time I went to this doctor he insisted on feeling up my breasts both in the examination room and in his office without a female nurse or any nurse present. He tried to also examine me "below the belt", but I insisted that I had a gynecologist to make such examinations, and he ignored me. I recommend that all women and their daughters keep away from this doctors practice, he is not professional.
