During my junior year of high school football I developed some issues involving intense hip pain every time I went to accelerate or change direction. As a running back this was obviously holding me from being able to perform to the best of my ability or even enjoy the sport I loved. Following the conclusion of the season I went to see a hip specialist out of Beaumont Hospital. I underwent a series of exams including an MRI with contrast and CT scan. I was then diagnosed with Femoroacetabular Impingement and told by several orthopedic physicians that the ONLY effective intervention would be a very invasive surgery involving a 6 month+ recovery period and missing my senior year of football (It was my childhood goal and dream to play college football). My mother and I went on to seek several second opinions. Finally, a DO out of Henry Ford examined my hip alignment and noticed that my hips were uneven. He performed a lower back/pelvic manipulation in which I saw temporary relief. In an attempt to avoid surgery, my mother and I decided it would be a good idea to try chiropractic and see if maybe my symptoms were actually the result of a misaligned spine/pelvis. I underwent a care plan with Dr. Marshall and his staff lasting a few months. Following Dr. Marshall’s chiropractic care my hips and spine were restored to alignment and I was completely PAIN FREE! Dr. Marshall allowed me the ability to finally play and enjoy the sport I loved again. Thanks to him and his staff I eventually had the opportunity to earn an athletic scholarship to Siena Heights University and make my childhood dream a reality! I went on to play 4 years of college football without surgery or any other issues involving my hip. Dr. Marshall is a great Chiropractor and an even better person. I cannot thank him enough!
