Our 8yr old female German Shepherd all of a sudden started having anal gland problems since the beginning of the year 2012. We brought her to one vet who misdiagnosed her with perianal fistulitis and almost killed her with all the prescription medicine that we just intuitively took her off of. So off to another vet...thought things were looking up except that they would look at her glands puzzled, express them...state how difficult they were to express, and then just give her a round of antibiotics and various other medications. This went on for months and in between running her to the emergency vet clinic for the same problem. It seemed that none of the vets were going beyond looking puzzled, expressing the glands, and prescribing her antibiotics. It was obvious that there was something more going on. Then Hurricane Sandy hit our area and of course here we are again trying to run the dog to the vet for a gland that was about to rupture. The only place we found that was open was Amity Animal Hospital in Belleville NJ. We brought her in and I told the Doctor everything this poor animal has been through. Without skipping a beat he knew exactly what our pup needed! He took care of the left gland on that day and had to redo a previously paid for surgery (which we were told that gland would never be a problem again) from an emergency vet on our second visit. It only took 2 small surgery visits (very reasonably priced by the way) and 2 follow up check ups and our dog is doing fantastic! He is now the only vet any of my animals will ever go see! I can tell that he is truly passionate about helping animals! He even took the time to draw out what was going on with her and even made me feel the gland to know what to look for. He is trying to extinguish every possible avenue before just removing the glands! After seeing numerous vets...he is the first one that gave us the explanation of what was going on and why! I highly recommend this Vet and would like to express our gratitude to him for helping our pup! We are quite pleased with the results...this Vet did in one month what 4 others could not figure out over a period of 8 months! Much thanks Doc from us and our pup Ranger!

My 5 star rating goes to Dr. Tumibay who is not only incredibly knowledgeable, experienced and skilled, but is also super super caring and a true lover of animals. My family has been seeing Dr. Tumibay since our first dog, who we got when I was 12 years old. For a few years, we used a vet in Manhattan who were extremely over priced and not as experienced as Dr. Tumibay. Now that I am back in NJ, I am able to take our dogs to Dr. Tumibay. In fact, during a recent visit, I had him look at a few bumps on our small dogs back, which the Manhattan vet had said were benign growths and that I could wait a while before I had them removed (this was last September). One of the bumps continued to grow and grow and I could tell our little guy was in a lot of discomfort. When Dr. Tumibay saw it, he said the bumps were tumors and that they needed to be removed immediately. If not, they would continue to spread. We picked up our little guy the following day and already saw a huge difference in his demeanor. He is back to his happy little self and his incisions have healed beautifully! Now, can the office be better organized and more modern? Yes, it definitely needs some help. But Im not going there for all the new gadgets and shine, Im going there for Dr. Tumibay. I went to the over-priced "modern" vet office and did not get the same care as Dr. Tumibay. All you need is a little patience and understanding and all will be fine.

Last night at about 6pm , my English Mastiff went into labor. She has complications at 10pm. We called the hospital and left message. The Doc called us back and told us to be there by 11:15pm. We thought she would need a C-section. He worked on her all night and by 2am we had 3 live puppies! No C-section ! This Doc, came from his night out ( Friday night and Valentines day) . He pulled up with his Grandson, and made it happen for our girl. Zoe is a AKC English Mastiff with champion lines and fully OFA cleared. He is kind hearted, and so is the staff! Not to mention extremely affordable. The place isnt the most up to date in décor , but this doc knows what he is doing! and in the end , I didnt go there looking for a 5 star hotel, I needed care for my dog and that is what he provided! Excellent care!

This has got to be the WORST care I ever received for my dog. They cannot find his medical records and needs his prescription filled. Cannot find it for almost a month. Refusing to assist me on their CLOSED day to just send a fax for his prescription but yet answers the phone. Then I finally I stated that today was the last day the pharmacy could help me and needed the offices help and they said call back tomorrow. When it will be too late. They refused to help and did not care about my pet and they have been in the wrong with losing or misplacing his medical records. They claim it happens every year... well why not find a fix to be proactive to prevent this from happening every year?!

Absolutely the worst experience Ive gone through with my dog. I took my dog to Amity to have a dental procedure. When I went to pick him up I couldnt even recognize my dog. He had bloodshot eyes, and a black eye as if someone had punched him brutally. Ive gone to other clinics prior to this one and they never handed my dog to me the way this clinic did. I am furious that my dog came out the way he did even more so when the doctor said that my dog did that to himself. What kind of vet hands a dog to their owner with a black eye and bleeding eyes? Please if you care for your pet do not take them to Amity

Had a great experiences here so far! I have taken my westie here several times over the past few years for a variety of different reasons (e.g. spaying, broken paw :(. check-ups, etc.) In all instances the doctor was so knowledgable and helpful. It was clear that he really cared about the animals. Service was fast and simple and they are also very affordable! I would highly recommend this clinic.

This is literally THE BEST animal hospital I have ever been to. What makes it so wonderful is the fact that the doctor is very caring and actually gives you his time (alot of it.) He is an older man.... but always up on new technology, as well asvery experienced in the field. He has a whole portfolio of his work and it is beyond impressive. I actually drive an hour and a half to see him!!
