This place is just utterly amazing, Dr Hoey and the staff at Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital are true animals lovers and passionate about what they do. I found myself in a very unfortunate situation in that I was moving from the US to the UK and taking my pet dog with me, I used my local vet (4Paws in Englishtown) to provide me with guidance on the process of traveling with my dog to the UK, and I was poorly advised and misled. It meant I was traveling in less than 3 days without all the required paperwork, and worse still without a Rabies vaccination. The only fortunate part to my story was that we found Dr Hoey, who was very understanding and considerate of our situation. She knew the travel process inside out, and provided us with ongoing support and advice. Unfortunately we had to leave our dog in the care of friends in the US, and we had to travel to the UK minus a family member, but thanks to our friends and Dr Hoey we managed to get our dog reunited with the family only a few weeks later. Throughout the entire stressful saga, Dr Hoey showed extreme compassion and you just know what she does is so dear to her heart. You honestly couldnt find a more caring vet! I wished Dr Hoey could continue to be our vet, but now living in the UK its a bit far to travel (and I never want to go through the paperwork again!! lol) I would reccommend Dr Hoey and Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital to everyone!! Ive been bringing my dog since we rescued him at 9 weeks and hes just over a year old now. Hes my first non fish pet so Ive had a lot of questions and the doctors have been really helpful and try to provide the services your pet needs without throwing in services they wont. Weve discussed vaccines that are right for my dog and our lifestyle, a good age to neuter (even though it meant I canceled my appointment within the week to reschedule months later/and they call you throughout the procedure so youre not guessing if your dog is okay for the day and a half youre not there with them), what to expect and medicines to give at different life stages, and even really good over the phone advice. I cant compare them to any other vet office, but my dog LOVES going to see everyone there and theyre always happy to answer all my questions (even really basic ones).

Brought in a stray almost dead female cat that found us on a hot summer day. The Doctor had very good bed side manner and was gentle with our little bag of bones. I was promised a call about test results that day and the doctor called at 630pm on a Saturday night, which was greatly appreciated since we didnt know what health issues she had or if she was dying. The Dr. didnt push extra tests or costs, just what was needed. We bought specialty cat diet food from the office and they have reasonable prices. No price gouging. Girls at the front desk are very nice, pleasant, and compassionate. We will be bringing our two dogs there as well because we enjoyed the experience so much.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NO OR NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. The doctor who saw and "treated" my dog is so unknowledgeable and impossible to even communicate with. Likely has no idea what he is talking about. Wrongly diagnosed my dog and she suffered immensely because of it. And I will never get over that. I have had multiple people come to me and tell me the bad experiences they have had here. Never take your pet here. If you care anything about it, go elsewhere. I strongly advise it. Please.

I was referred to Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital by one of the security personal (and new friend) in the building I live in. I moved to Newark, NJ 2 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Finding a good veterinarian was very important to me as I had the best ever in Florida. I am so happy that I found this one. The staff is very pleasant and the doctors take the time to explain what is needed for my dog. I highly recommend them!

I brought my dog there for normal annual visits and I had mentioned that I thought he had a breathing problem. They told me nope everything is fine....well I had to bring him to an emergency hospital about a week ago and they told me his 1 airway was blocked for most of his life and he had damage to his lungs so I had to put him down....thanks alot

1st time here-staff was warm and very welcoming. Wait time was minimal & Dr. Hoey was very pleasant & knowledgeable. Also appreciated that she let me know my dog didnt really need 1 shot due to where we live & that our previous vet always made us get. Would definitely recommend this place to fellow dog owners!

I have been to many animal hospitals and this animal hospital is incredible! I love Dr Leary and Dr Hoey. Great bedside manner and never over charge you. They are always right on diagnosis and very caring. I Travel from Piscataway to here for my 2 boxers. Love this the whole staff!

Dr.rachel plafker was extremely rude , condescending and unprofessional. Rolling her eyes at every question I had on my pets health. Horrible customer service people like that should not work in the industry
