Horrible service, avoid this place! They are unprofessional and long wait times. I took my kids to get there vision checked and my daughter needed contacts. I came back to do a contact fitting for her and the doctor tried to put the contacts in my daughters 2 times within 1 min and gave up. He brought me put to the front and asked one of the girls to show my daughter how to put them in. The lady said "why do I have to show them, they should just do it at home"(meanwhile Im sitting right near them hearing this). I interject and tell them " give me back my $60 ,contact fitting payment and I will gladly show her how to do it. The women then showed my daughter in which I could of done the same. My daughter is 14 and never had contacts, she struggled for 30 min to try to put them in herself while the woman say on the phone making office calls. The so called 30 min contact fitting time had passed and the woman made sure to tell me. She told me I could come back and my daughter can trust again! I am in the process of getting a manger to call me back in the name of Shadae. I was told she would call me back and never did. When I called back the next day I was putterly on hold and then hung up on. When I called back I was told no managers work weekends! So Shadae has until 6/12 to call me back before I March back down to the store and create a scene! They are unprofessional at all cost, they act like a bunch of high-school kids that flirt and talk like trash. Again stay away especially with children!

Literally just came home tonight from their mobile site at my kids school! Let me tell you how friendly, professional & courtesy the staff are! I had a long day to begin with & when i tell you they made every attempt to help me as quickly as possible, they sure did! It was for my 6 year old son, who broke his glasses & not only did Robbie spend over a half hour fixing them BUT he also was able to get my son a replacement pair, which he spent another 20mins with my son, picking out the glasses! Mind you, my son is 6 & this was 7:30 at night! So you can just imagine how long of a day they had too & they still managed to keep a smile & spend more than enough time, not only with us, but with everyone there! I came straight from work with my son who had no dinner yet, & SADE who did our intake, gave her own money, to pay for a snack for my son! This is exactly what the true definite of customer service means! People who go above and beyond their job to help those of us who dont have insurance or money to pay for eye services. You can tell they love their job! Every last person there was pleasant & exceptional. But Robbie & Sade, really truly made it an experience that i will never forget! I cant thank those two enough! Side note, it was suppose to be from 3 to 8 with them closing up at leaving at 8p, however when i tell you people were coming in at 745p & 8p, they still did not turn anyone away! Truly awesome place & staff!

In November, I attended the NJEA Optical Academy. I was greeted by a cheerful staff who helped me find frames and left feeling pretty good that I was going to be able to finally get new glasses. Two weeks later, my glasses arrived in the mail. As I opened them, I realized that the frames I had tried on were not the ones that were shipped to me. I contact the optical academy and explained what had happened. They told me that I could come in and swap them for another frame. I explained that I live in South Jersey. She kindly told me that I could attend any of their south jersey optical academy mobile units and I could swap my glasses there on the spot. I attended the Pennsauken Optical Academy mobile. At that time, I explained what had happened to Sal the manager onsite. He told me he did not have any knowledge of what had happened and that he would not be able to honor my request of getting another frame. After a lengthy conversation with Sal, he told me in a harsh tone to get a frame and he’d see what he could do. As I chose the correct frame, Sal quickly popped out my lenses and put them in the correct frame. He did this without adjusting them or asking me how they felt. My advice is twofold; NJEA should stop doing business with the so called Optical Academy and for customers to go elsewhere. You can get a much better deal and be treated in a respectful manner.

Biggest MISTAKE ever made. They recently visited our school. Wife and I decided to have exams done for (2) reasons. 1. Exams booked benefit school with "free exams" for students that cant normally afford it. 2. Price of exams and glasses seemed unbeatable. Problems started right from the beginning. Appointments made a month in advance, yet when we got there, we ended up spending 3 HOURS sitting around. Took 1 1/2 hours just to get the 5 minutes exam, then another 1 1/2 hours to sit with the doctor. They did NOT plan this out at all, Ive seen better customer service at a fast food restaurant. We paid for the FULL exam, which included exam for contacts. Their own site states exams for eye glasses, contacts (even 1st time wearers). At end of the night, when they realized didnt have my prescription they stated they dont do 1st time contact wearers and gave me prescription for glasses (which I told them I didnt want glasses). Thats 3 hours of my life that I shelled money out for. 3 hours of my life Ill NEVER get back. What a complete waste of time. Avoid at all costs, itll benefit you more to DONATE the money to the school and have them get exams elsewhere. NJEA dropped the ball on selecting this bumbling group for eye exams!! Next time Ill just go to the circus, at least the clowns there are funny!!

Although it looks like a professional business from outside, inside is all the opposite. I had an appointment at 10am, went there on time. Got the first check up, and started waiting for the doctor. After waiting about 30 min, I realized that there was no doctor in sight. Kept waiting with two other patients for 40 min., still, no doctor in sight, no one in the office bothered to provide us an explanation. Only after I asked, they found out that the doctor got into an accident. I feel sorry for the doctor and I hope he/she is okay. When I questioned how come no one in the office inquired about the delay in her arrival and gave us the update, I was given third-grader explanations about how the accidents could be very bad. At the end, I was pointed to be at fault for not sympathizing with the doctor. It became my mistake to ask why there was no explanation. I saw a very rude attitude from one of the staff. No one offered to reschedule. I could not stay in that charged environment for a minute.
