This place is a den of thieves. I have insurance and they flatly told me my insurance did not cover my contact lenses and of course they added a "fitting" fee once I found out from my insurance it was. Once the exam was done I was told I "had" to buy a years supply of contact lenses because that was the law and specified in the form they make you sign before you get examined. Turns out this is another lie, you dont have to buy any lenses. They refuse to give you your contact lens prescription because they have to do a second session to confirm they fit ok, even after I told them Id used contacts for over 10 years, of course since you dont want to spend $500 over your $300 insurance allotment, the fitting is never done. This is sad state for medical care in our country, when crooks like Star Optical and Van Vinciguerra are left to free roam in our inner cities in a predatory manner, lining their pockets with the hard earned money of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Shame on you Van Vinciguerra, in my opinion you are not worth to be called a doctor. Finally I got my my money back and cancelled all the charges to my insurance. I was traveling to South America over the past few week and got myself brand name contact lenses, J&J not the cut rate models SO sells, for a fraction of the cost.

Went in to purchase glasses and contacts. After both exams I was pushed into getting progressives with the extras. Ive never worn progressives and was shocked that I needed them all of a sudden, the prescription also seemed to be too strong. After paying for the services I was told to try the glasses for a week or so, long story short, I returned the glasses, the doctor lowered the Rx and had the progressives made into distance only glasses. Informed the optometrist "Dr. Shin" of my contact lens preference, only to be prescribed what they sell in the store, the way the staff pushed to upsell everything seems predatory on the uninformed. They seemed to want to keep my contact lens prescription hostage unless I purchased their contact lenses which are ridiculously expensive, after several visits I finally got my prescription and will be purchasing my contacts online. Will not be returning.

Horrible place tried to get my contact lense prescription. They want you sign a disclosure that you must buy contact lenses from them at a huge inflated price or they will not release your prescription. They were under the impression that I could not read English. Be very careful the people that I dealt with were very rude. Stay away !!! Read other reviews. Read fine print or they will screw you! I will never go back here

These people are the WORST!!! First They Broke The Screw in my glasses when they were supposed to tighten them for me then since they cracked I asked could they REPLACE Them? They tried to charge me 45.00 For A cheap frame. Today I Call Because I Wont To Be Able To Cover The Expensive high index lense I just was going to get basic
