Health Plus

Usually when someone is rushed to a hospital because theyre oxygen saturation is at 83 (Normal is 94-100%), fever, high white blood count (Meaning Infection), and headache....they would expect QUALITY CARE. Well, let me tell you, based on what I just experienced at TEXAS HEALTH RESOURCES SOUTHWEST HOSPITAL, Care is not even in their vocabulary. All the way from Nurses who do not speak english very well AT ALL, Nurses who do not know how to start an IV (6 tries..really???), to the hospital "Not being allowed to take your temperature orally ("The hospital doesnt own an oral thermometer") LIARS.... I SAW the darn machine.....to a sono tech that was a rude bi###. To Dr.s that just order anything and everything because they dont know WHAT to order!!!! Non stop lie after lie, incompetence at its finest!!! (My opinion of course, based on what I experienced). Here is the mind blower...After all of the wasted tests, the Dr. comes in (After I demanded to see SOMEONE...ANYONE AT THAT POINT - 2 days later)... Dr. Gutta comes in and says, "Well we do not know where the infection is, but we will keep giving you breathing treatments (Still no antibiotics at this point)" so after refusing to let me eat except 1 gross "meal" in 2 days time, and treating me like a pin cushion and begging for over 4 hours for toilet paper (yes, toilet paper), no antibiotics, I said "So basically there are still NO ANSWERS and this has all been a waste of time?" Dr. Gutta replies "Hospitals are not the best at some things" EXCUSE ME??? Then where else is there to go if a HOSPITAL cannot make a diagnosis??? This is the WORST "hospital" in DFW area, in my opinion. If you value your health or want quality care, DO NOT GO TO TEXAS HEALTH HARRIS METHODIST SOUTHWEST...they are even lower on the grading scale than Tx Health Huguley! (Again, my opinion based on MY God Awful experiences).

going in for pre op and during admissions a short 10 mins process turned in to 30 mins and more. i was being told that i would have to pay money and sign that i agree and i told them that i would not since it was preventive and 100% is covered- even had to call the insurance company while there to verify it. then they were able to put that in correctly and i signed the form for zero balance. makes me wonder if i signed the other one if the hospital would then come after me for something that was 100% paid. they had me in as an in patient and i was an out patient and that was what i was told was the confusion since it was put in incorrectly. So i go to pre op go in and the admission lady placed paper work on counter and of course no one was there and you could hear talking and laughing in the background. no one came up to counter to see who was there. so while speaking with the admissions person and waiting in the watiing room a lady walked thru the door with a bag and i said finally someone is here to help..her response was did you ring the bell. told her that there was no bell on the counter to ring. she then went behind the counter and placed the bell on the counter and a sign that said ring the bell for help. From that point on it just became horrible and there is to much more to list. but i did finally have to say to another lady to stop raising her voice to me and to stop being sarcastic to me as well. but i will say that once i got back to the room with loretta to complete my pre op she was wonderful and we sailed thru the rest of the process. But i will NEVER go to Harris SW again nor will i ever recommend it to anyone. As i told one of the employees i would rather go to jps than here to get the same treatment,,I would say that the pre op dept need to revisit the values of the TX health resources

Went to the ER with what turned out to be kidney stones. They put me in a room with no call button or any means of communication. Went hours without checking on me. I told them I was dehydrated and had a headache, but it took them 5 hours to give me a little cup of water and some Tylenol. They put in an IV port and I asked for fluids 5 times, but they never gave me any. Anyone who knows anything about kidney stones knows that 8 hours without water (except the 1/4 cup I had with the Tylenol) is a bad thing. I asked for the urologist on call and they gave me a post it note with a name and phone number and told me to call his office to make an appointment. Then after 8 hours of pretty much being ignored, except 2 blood draws and a CT scan, a very rude nurse came in I had never seen before and said, "your doctor left and the doctor on now says you can pass a 6.5mm stone. We are checking you out now." The first doctor said the stone wasnt passable. I told her my mother-in-law would be there in 15 to 20 minutes and she snapped, you can wait out in the ER waiting room. They wanted me there long enough to bill my insurance company thousands of dollars and nothing more. The person who took my blood was nice and did a good job, but unfortunately thats about the only good thing I can say about the experience. I will not go back. Time to find another hospital!

I would HIGHLY recommend a different hospital. This hospital doesnt even deserve ONE star. Im at 15 year old girl and I know often time 15 year olds can over exaggerate but it was the worst experience Ive ever had. My mom was having really bad pain while breathing alone with other symptoms and the nurse looked at her and rolled her eyes, and so did another nurse. When she came back she had a bad condition not horrible, but bad so she had to go get an X-Ray and the lady who was supposed to take her up to X-Ray was tugging on the railing that you have to pull up to move the cart keep in mind my mom is in a ton of pain and just got comfortable enough to sleep. When it wouldnt come up she was tugging and tugging like she was in a rush, and my mom was crying and trying to get up because she was hurting her and my dad was trying to help her and she yanked it up and hurt my mom even worse. When I politely asked if she could be more gentle she rolled her eyes and said "Well I couldnt get it up!" if she would have waited a couple seconds she wouldnt have hurt my mom. She got called out by another doctor for another patient and rolled her eyes and did a huge sigh and walked out. The experience over all was horrible but you did have the good doctors. I had 2 good people the doctor and one nurse.

I had a c-section here for my first son. I love dr. Ryan, however once he left me I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They gave me one Tylenol in recovery after my c-section and my spinal tap wore off immediately and the recovery nurse was getting off her shift and REFUSED to get me any meds or a pain pump because she didnt want to bother with me. They wheeled me into my regular room and I was physically screaming bloody murder down the hall due to the pain of just being cut completely open with zero pain meds. It took them two hours to get the pain pump... And another 3 hours for it to even begin to start working since the pain was so high because of how they did it instead of prevent the pain. I couldnt even hold my baby because of the pain they put me through. The nurses made my baby jaundice because my milk wasnt coming in after three days and they kept scaring me to use formula. All I needed was to be put on the pump but I didnt know any different at the time since it was my first! Instead my infant went from 7.6 to 5 pounds! No one at the hospital ever cared what happened. I dont want to leave my doctor now that Im pregnant again... But he wont go anywhere else. Im terrified of going through the same experience and dont know what to do.
