not even sure I want to give them 1 star. not happy with the Care my husband is receiving there. His bed was dirty, and by dirty I mean there was caked on brownish yellow stuff on the bed rails and the mattress. not even going to entertain the notion of what that is. His gown was soiled and looked like no one even bothered to change it. Hes in ICU but hes awake and aware and he even tried to tell me they were mistreating him up there. The building is old and looks dirty, there was build up scum on the base boards. Does not give the impression of a sterile environment. This is a place I wouldnt even want my dog in, its just nasty. The only redeeming element to this place is so far the staff seems pretty nice, except for one little nurse who is just irritating. Update 12/2/2016 So the day after posting this review the CCO Troy contacted me to address the concerns I reviewed. I was impressed and surprised. Unfortunately, some new issues arose today concerning my husbands care. Again revolving around some mistreatment. Some of which I was able to explain. However, some things cant be ignored. having a patient asking for help for 15 minutes before anyone even bothered to pop their head in to find out was needed, seems a little on the long side. But understandable in a sense youre not the only patient there so. But the ratio there in ICU is suppose to be 3 patients to one nurse and in my opinion is it shouldnt take that long to at least find out what is needed. Ultimately the decision has been made to transfer my husband to a facility closer to home. I can not in good conscience recommend this facility while there are some amazing members of staff there who genuinely seem concerned about patient care and are on the ball with it i.e. Nurse Richard, who is a shining example of how nurses should be, Troy, the CCO who was concerned about making things right and having a chance to prove that looks arent everything when it comes to patient care, and Marsha the case manger who was understanding and willing to work hard; theres too many questionable things happening and concerns left about patient care when visitors arent around to see anything. I mean I listened on the phone tonight for almost half an hour until someone finally came to help my husband.

Ive been at Kindred Arlington many times over the past ten years. Every time I need to go to a long term facility I aways ask to come here. They provide the best care in all of the health care system. They have nice nurses, hard working aides and a great Rehab department. They also have a truthful and good nutritionist. I have lost almost 200 lbs in the past few years! I contribute my success a lot to the education Ive received here at Kindred. The dietitian is wonderful. When I first came here one of the nurses told me I was in such bad shape because of my weight. He motivated me and gave me spiritual guidance. He gave me a personal example of his own life that really affected me. I will never forget his kindness. He told me that he had been overweight too. And his life was so much better once he lost weight. It was due to his testimony, the doctors and nutritionist honesty that encouraged me to change my life. They are the reason Im still alive today. I have some hills to climb, but Im going to make it. I like the doctors here. They really listen and work with you on getting well. They give more than just two seconds of their time. They know me and respect me. I also enjoy the compassion shown by nurses, therapists, administration and the chaplain that comes to visit. I always have someone to talk to here. You can get a chaplain at any time. And administration comes to visit me often. They are all like family and have gotten me thru some difficult times. Most hospitals will not go to that extent for their patients. In the health care system, there are big problems in administration. You need to be somewhere with good administration and social workers. Kindred Arlington is that place. That is why I always insist on coming here. The people in administration get involved because they care. You can tell they care about their patients. My sister always calls Amanda directly when I need long term care. I give glory to God that I am always welcome here!

For many years Ive had severe medical issues. I feel like humpy dumpy who had a great fall. Broken bones, COPD, CHF, kidney problems, you name it. I have been to Kindred many times over the past 10 years. Ive always received great care each time. The entire staff here have treated me very well and professionally. Especially the pulmonary department, Rehab and the acute nursing staff here in Arlington are wonderful. The doctors are all professional and you can talk to them personally and they listen to you. They take my experience and knowledge into consideration. They dont try to play around with my medications and treatment. They always consider my experience and what Ive been thru in the past. Looking at each department, I would like to talk about the following: nursing treats me with dignity. They always introduce themselves and tell me what the are about to do. They explain all my medications. I also appreciate the dietary department. They keep me on my designated diet but keep me satisfied at the same time. They do not abandon your dietary needs on the weekends like Ive experienced with other hospitals. The lab is also up to date on testing and other professional care treatment. Above all, the social work department is a true functioning department. They really do assist with getting issues solved. They do not abandon you or your care plan, which can be scary for someone with multiple medical needs. They work very closely with my sister who is out of state in keeping her informed. It is very important in these difficult days to find a good quality care center. I find that Kindred Arlington fulfills all of my needs. Which I dont find at other places. So yes, I am a frequent flyer here at Kindred Arlington. I would recommend them to anyone needing long term care.

edit: it is still 1/24. Ill give credit to Chris Richard, administrator. She called this evening & we spoke for 45 mins. I believe she is genuinely concerned about the shoddy care given my brother. orig: Today is 1/24/11. Such disappointment in this place! My brother has been here since 1/4/11. He moved out today. Upon arriving he went over 24 hours before seeing any doctor or physical therapist. He went over 8 hours without a wheelchair and received one only because I went there and demanded one. Two of his doctors, Dr. Yoon & Dr. Ramirez have never returned a call since I first requested it on 1/12. I have called almost every day asking to speak with them. I keep getting told my message is still taped to his chart. I sent comments and questions via the Kindred web site with no response. I left 2 phone numbers for someone to reach me at. One of my questions was about his weight. When I went last night I asked to have him weighed. He had lost 22 pounds in less than 3 weeks! This is completely unacceptable that this hasnt been addressed. He was weighed on 1/17 and had lost 18 pounds at that time. He is there for wound care and IV antibiotics. He had a wound vac attached on the 5th. On the 10th his wound was much worse and yet the wound vac was reattached until 1/13 when his surgeon suggested it be stopped. Their website indicates interdisciplinary team meetings. When the lead case manager called me today to see why we wanted to change facilities I asked if these meetings really happened with the family. She indicated that the ID meetings do happen, but the doctors dont attend. If you must have a patient here, keep a very close eye on them!
