I went there in december when being on vacation in Texas. The first thing I asked when handing the woman my Blue Cross card was if they were a participating Blue Cross Ppo provider and was told yes. I made sure to ask this before I even took paperwork to fill out. I was brought in by 2 other people who were right there when I was told this. I had a severe headache and when the doctor saw me she said with my high blood pressure and other symptoms they needed to do a scan of my head. Now I find out from Blue Cross in Michigan they are not participating providers. As well as the fact they did not give me a diagnosis that substantiated the er visit and scan. If they needed the scan the diagnosis should show that. If they had coded it as there was need my insurance company would have paid as though it was an in network claim. I can not believe that there is not one HUGE problem with this but two. I tried calling them and get no help with either problem. I was told to mail a letter to a post office box. There is nobody who can help straighten this out in the entire hospital system? I have read online and see others who have had lots of problems with them. So much so that they have already changed the name of the hospital. I will seek legal counsel as well as contact The Better Business Bureau, State Insurance Commissioner in Michigan and Texas, the Medical Review Board, my Congressman any and every online review site that I can find until I get this straightened out. I was lied to when I walked in their door. They are taking advantage of sick people. Telling people they are participating with there insurance company when they are not just to keep them and run up huge bills. What kind of a health care facility does that? Not an honest one. Not a reputable one. They should be shut down. I will not stop until they take care of this situation.

My daughter went here after a 45 minute bout of throwing up. She had felt dizzy and weak for 3 days and was afraid it was her blood pressure or onset of diabetes. We visited Texas Health Hospital on a Sunday early evening and were promptly taken to the er examining room. They toik her vitals, and a urine sample and were very nice until they asked about her primary care physician. When we advised we didnt have one the nurse looked shocked and asked why not. I explained I had lost my health insurance a year ago due to the high cost and being self emplyed. She told me that I should get Medicaid, I explained that adults could not get Medicaid unless they were pregnant, my daughter is 21 and not pregnant. She looked at me like I was lying. The visit went downhill from there. The doctor came to examine my daughter. He asked how she felt when he entered the room, she told him better he replied, well I guess theres nothing for me to do here since you feel better. He chastised her for eating so much fast food over the past week, and said if she got high blood pressure if became diabetic she would have to get a PCP because they would not treat her in the ER. They released us with no diagnosis, and charged a $250.00 deposit when we checked out. Would not refer anyone here unless they had insurance. Terrible bedside manner.

You are better off going to urgent care. Everyone was really nice, however I was sent away with a diagnosis of Athma (which I advised them I had) no blood work was completed, I felt the doctor or nurses did not listen to my symptoms that I verbally told them and was apparent in my physical appearance. Then they had the nerve to come ask for their $200 deductible when I could barely breath or walk back to my car. I advised the lady to Bill me, as my employer covers my deductible up to a certain dollar amount. She seamed as if it was an issue, and I almost paid but Im glad I didnt because I needed to pay to go to urgent care less than 24 hours later. I ended up going to urgent care the next day and was informed that I had pneumonia and the Flu! It was so obvious with the symptoms that I informed both the nurses and doctors at the hospital of, but they ignored everything I told them after I said I have asthma and Im having issues breathing. Never mind I said I had body aches, chills, coughing up dark mucus, headache, I was visibly sweating and shivering, etc. Needless to say, they were not concerned with treating me but actually getting me in, billed and out the door. I wont ever go back If I can help it.

This ERs billing dept and their debt collectors are practicing predatory and extremely deceptive. My insurance paid them when they saw an error from ER on Billing code. Once it was fixed, they got paid by my insurance. Yet, they still sent this to their debt collector and even when I explain to them that ER was paid, the debt collector doesnt care. This facility verified to me that I have zero balance but they refuse to contact the debt collector. When I tell the debt collector, they said they cant call the hospitals billing people. What is that about? I have waited a week for them to "review" this and nothing. Btw, this problem has dropped my score by 100 pts and affected me from buying a house. Even though they got paid, they appear to take their time fixing this problem. Apparently they dont care. Dont believe the high rating. They pay/provide discounts to people to rate them high. I found out that this is common practice with these stand alone ER. If you experience this, please contact your CFPB and US Attorneys office. These places need to close down. Its driving our insurance cost up and they are unethical. Several of these places are under investigation by US attorneys office already.
