Lewisville almost killed my grandmother. Their priority is to have a fast turnover of patients... Not actually curing them. My 81 year old grandmother was taken into the emergency room because she could barley breath and couldnt sleep (this is a woman that still runs around the block and mows the lawn). They took her in.... barely checked on her all day (no Joke, there was a time she tried to get out of bed by herself, all the alarms went off, she almost passed out on the floor, I called for a nurse and told them it was emergency, and it took them 15 minutes to get in there). She had a fever and 30 minutes later, she turned bright red and was very hot, I asked them to take her temp again to make sure it didnt get dangerously high, and they kept on saying okay... Not actually doing it, and walking out of the room... I got a reading 3 hours later). They said she had fluid in her lungs and we asked if it was pneumonia and they said no. The next day they claimed her breathing was better and asked us to take her home. No less than 3 hours later, she passed out at home and had an accident, she had a high fever and we immediately took her to Flower Mound Presbyterian hospital where they diagnosed her with pneumonia, said that no one should have released her from Lewisville without further observation, put her in the ICU, where she still is right now. If my cousin wasnt home my grandmother would have died... Thanks nurses and doctors at Lewisville for almost killing my grandmother and putting out family through hell. We will never recommend using you again... Even if Im dying of a heart attack and Im in the parking lot of your hospital, I will request to go to any other hospital because Im sure even with travel time... I will have a higher chance of survival than I would at your hospital.

Twice now our child had a near fatal outcome bc of them!!!! 1st they misdiagnosed our 5 month old. Our pediatrician sent us to the ER bc she was confident she had salmonella. We told the ER staff that and they said no its a stomach bug. They didnt want to do any test. The doctor said "if I was a betting man I would say its a stomach bug". We went to another ER where we found out she did have salmonella! 2nd trip (we only went here bc there was a protest near the other ER in Dallas and I wasnt driving through that at 11pm with my daughter) Our daughter had Croup and wasnt doing well at all. When we were discharged we were told we would get a medication that was only 1 dose bc of its strength. I picked up the medicine and its a 30 day supply of a steroid. With no directions. So I call the nurse and she chews me out saying to just read the directions and give her the entire bottle. Mind you this is a 1 year old, and she is prescribed Prednisolone!! No joke this nurse yelled at me when I simply asked how much to give my child! So my husband calls, sure enough he gets told dont exceed 5 days! WHAT THE HECK!! 3 nurses give 3 different dosings! 1 says 1 day, 1 says "just give the entire bottle", and the other says give it 5 days. I also informed them the medicine made her vomit immediately, they said to force the medicine down even if she keeps puking it up, just keep re giving it no matter what. ARE you serious!? How are these people allowed to work with children! So we went to our pediatrician the next day and got an opinion from an educated doctor! STAY FAR AWAY from here. Your child does not matter to them. Twice now we had near fatal outcomes!!

Came into the ER with a large gash in my face. No one else was in the waiting room, so the staff got me into a room really quickly. I was thinking theyd just stitch me up and Id be on my way in no time! Unfortunately that was not the case. I sat in the room for OVER 3 HOURS waiting to see the doctor. Every time I inquired about how long the wait would be (about 3 times), I was told that they were "busy", and the nurse did not seem at all happy that I asked. When the doctor finally came in, a little over 3 hours after I originally came in, it took him literally 5 minutes to stitch me up and send me on my way. When I asked why the wait was so long, he explained that someone came in right after me with life threatening situation. While I completely understand that the other situation took precedent over mine, I also asked why another doctor could not have seen me. I was shocked when he said he was the ONLY DOCTOR ON STAFF! What emergency room only has 1 doctor?? I gave 1 star because the doctor was really nice and did an awesome job stitching my face, but Id think that with the new renovations and money theyve put into this place that theyd hire more than 1 doctor for the entire ER. Bottom line, dont go to Levisville ER unless youre dying or youre in for a long wait and a staff thats less than eager to help you (besides the doctor, I think his name was Maxwell).

I was there at this hospital about 10 years ago, the emergency room wait was so long that I just ended up going back home and "just ride out my problem". The experience left me with a bad feeling about this hospital and its services. Ten years later..... I was there on May 12th for emergency care because I was in a lot of pain and desperate for relief. I didnt want to go to any Urgent Care place because I was afraid that I was going to end up going somewhere else. I took a chance and stopped at the hospital. Upon my arrival I was quickly checked in and the staff was very friendly. I had to take x-rays and while I was waiting they made sure that I was comfortable. The x-ray technician was a big help (Im sorry I dont remember her name but she should be recognized for her service). The nurse (Rebecca) was extremely helpful and made me feel relieved about my issue. She guided me on what to do and like a good little boy I did what she told me to do. By that evening I was at the movie theaters and ran into the x-ray technician again. She was amazed on my recovery and so was I !!!! The whole experience left me with a renewed belief of the hospital and its friendly staff. I will definitely go there again if the need arises. Sending Rebecca a big HUG!!!!!!!!

I had a baby here and had an issue in recovery with one of the nurses. When we got to the 3rd floor my Fiance requested the floor managing nurse who did came to visit. The nurse from the 2nd floor went back to her place and called security who also had shown up at the same time as the managing nurse did. The nurse was given discipline action and Security left the floor and at the request of my Fiance. After that we were visited by every manager that had something to do with the floors and the Hospital. Saying that the hospital does not care is not a complete statement. As my Fiance followed the rules and a chain of command everyone there has a boss and you just need to use your "Patients Rights". That night there were 38 births and his being there was appreciated by all the nurses on the floor except this one. I feel the appropriate action was taken against her for what she did. You have rights use them. The security in this hospital is awesome, there were a few code "Pink" which locked down the hospital until cleared. It only happened because someone got to close to the RED line and set off the baby jack system, one was caused by mine kicking off his tag. Parkland has nothing like this I would go back to Lewisville for anything.
