This hospital has been the bane of my existence for 3 months! My 70 year old Mother has spent the latter part of June all of July and most of August at this hell hole. In June she fell and went to the er where they said nothing was wrong. A few days later the pain was so severe I had to take her back where they did more tests and LO AND BEHOLD the fall had actually resulted in a fracture to her L4. That resulted in surgery to her spine. They sent her home with promises of home health care and walkers etc. None of which ever happened. Shortly thereafter she has a heart attack the one saving grace is the er dr who caught it. They admit her do the sonogram of her heart offer stints or bypass tgen strongarm just bypass then when we ask for a 2nd opinion tell her to just go home since shes not ready. Mean manipulative hateful petty. Shes too scared to get 2nd opinion goes right back a day later. In pain afraid shaking crying. I have to literally argue with all but 1 nurse at every station every step of the way. They would go over an hour chatting while my mother cried waiting for her meds. I know because i walked to the station to check and EVERY SINGLE NURSE WAS THERE! Giggling and saying theyd be right there....they were already an hour late!!!!!! I have had to fight for her care her meds her decent treatment. I thank God she survived the surgeries and i believe it was in spite of Baylor Scott and White and because of Him. The er doctor who listened and diagnosed her is a Godsend and i thank her and Katie on floor 3 who had empathy I also thank. I lived in that hospital for 3 full weeks all day and all night. I know to you its just a job but shes my Mother. Everyone youre "working" on is someones family!!!!! Someday it will be somone you love that matters to you. How do you want them treated? Maybe you should think about that. Especially you drs who pump a patient full of morphine every 2 hours then send them home with a single tablet of Tylenol 3 every 8 hours. Im confused how you reconcile that. Did that 70yr old woman who just had her chest cracked open and had pancreatitis magically have her pain disappear when you discharged her?????? Maybe it will be your mother next time.

I used Baylor Hospital at Irving CT scan services, and was shocked at the huge bill I received. On two occasions I asked for an estimate before undergoing the scan, and was told that they could not until everything was processed by the insurance company. So, I signed a blank bill, saying I would pay any and all charges associated with my procedure -- even though they were unwilling give me an estimate. This is good for them, but bad for anyone else. Do not sign anything without a written estimate!!! I have learned the hard way about Baylors deceptive business practices. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General about these deceptive practices. On top of this, after my expensive fiasco they couldnt even schedule me time to look at the scans -- they just called my on the phone and told me I was OK (they charge extra for CT interpretation as well, just so you know -- $250 for a phone call -- youre OK, bye!!!). I tried to negotiate with Baylors billing department, but they tell me I should have asked my insurance company for a total amount before everything was done, and so it was my fault I was being billed so much by people who REFUSED to give me an estimate are were plainly happy to let me sign an open ended contract. They will not negotiate face-to-face, as they plainly know they are dishonest. They say send all the money now, or we will damage your credit. Where is my defense? I will file a consumer complaint for their dishonest practices, and will do everything I can to make everyone I know hears my story and avoids Baylor Hospital as much as possible, or in the very least will hold their feet to the coals regarding getting any prospective work done and especially not SIGNING BLANK CONTRACTS with crooks.

This hospital stay was by FAR the WORST experience I have ever had to encounter with any hospital. The incidents occured between 2/21/16- 2/27/16... I was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and other issues. The nurses were very rude, I waited for hours for water, to go to the restroom, assistance, etc within the duration of that stay. On 2/27/16, my last straw was when I found out that the medication ativan that was supposed to have been given to me was actually Xanax from a nurse by accident. When I asked her to repeat what was given again, she became non-receptive and argumentative stating that the doctor may have changed it and she didnt know. Several times after I begged for water and restroom and waited for two hours. I left at that point AMA and went to another hospital that same night. In an attempt to begin a legal escalation regarding my stay, I went and requested to speak with an advocate and to have my charts pulled including all medication administered, nurses and doctors name that had treated me. The receptionists that I spoke with claimed to not have one of those (patient advocates) in this hospital. I also have had several issues with their pulmonary specialists in the medical building portion, and not surprisingly at all, they run their office just as poorly as they do the actual hospital.

Drive anywhere else for ER treatment, this place is awful. Took my infant daughter here for a particularly bad fever. They immediately panicked because her temperature was so low that they thought she was in immediate danger. As it turns out, their thermometer was broken, and we got a totally different reading after, having already being put through the panic. After that, not ONCE did the staff or Doctor come in to check on us of their own accord. I had to flag them down EVERY SINGLE TIME, including waiting 30 minutes for the only treatment they gave her, ibuprofen. After being told we would be discharged, we waited for yet another hour for someone to bring the paperwork. I finally got fed up and went yet again to ask what the hold up was, and they said they were still waiting for my prescription. I had to explain to them there was nothing prescribed, which they would have known themselves if they werent talking about how much the drank over the weekend, at full volume, right outside our room. Now, nearly 5 months later, I am receiving yet another bill from them, which I already paid AND have the payment confirmation number for. The charges were astronomical considering how poorly they did. They are absolutely incompetent, and I thank God I didnt have to trust in them to do anything of vital importance.

I have been treated pretty fairly at my visits . But tonight 9/11/2016 was the worst night of my life. I had been to emergency earlier that day for pain and complications from a miscarriage. I was treated very well but was sent home because obgyn on call wouldnt admit me. I went back a few hours later for bleeding and extreme pain and asked for help and to be admitted until my surgery the next morning. They did blood work canceled it as soon as they took it turned monitors off as soon as they were put on. Doctor said he would call obgyn on call then said he wasnt and then said I would be monitored but after pelvic exam said I wasnt bleeding and what im going threw isnt emergency. There was blood on the speculum they use for pelvic exam and my husband saw blood before I went. They even offered me a pad. Why offer a pad if you say im not bleeding. He said he was just going to give me norco and then take tyenol at home. He even said the baby is coming out your body is rejecting it thats what happens you just have to go threw it. Im supposed to have surgery and even my obgyn said he doesnt want me to go threw the miscarriage in this way. Cant go to emergency room anymore because of this and my doctor doesnt open until 8:30. This is so horrible to do to someone especially when they are losing a child.
