I went to Dr. Sherman because I needed an updated prescription. From the beginning, Dr. Sherman seemed disinterested. His equipment, furthermore, is ancient. This doesnt have to mean anything, but it doesnt exactly inspire confidence. The real problem, however, was the fact that I got a prescription that was too strong, and bad advice regarding reading glasses. I later went to another optometrist for a much more thorough examination, and he was frankly astounded at the advice Dr. Sherman had given me. With a proper prescription, it turned out, I didnt need separate reading glasses. My eyes feel much better now. To top it off, Dr. Sherman also charged me a ridiculously high price. I recommend that you go elsewhere.

I really like Dr. Sherman, both as a person and as a doctor. He is pleasant and professional, thorough and patient. But I bought 2 pairs of glasses there a few years ago, and both of them developed some strange mottled stuff on the lenses, as if one of the protective coatings was slowly wearing off, making them hard to see through. I cant seem to get it off with anything, so I assume thats what it is. These glasses were about $300+ a pair - they arent cheap. So either pay good money for nice glasses or go buy cheap ones but dont spend good money for cheap glasses!

Dr. Sherman is a caring eye Dr. He takes his time when doing testing and makes certain his diagnosis is correct. He shows concern when I tell him what is going on with my eyes and what bothers me. I have found that he is willing to explain why, and offers a corrective option. I see him every year and would highly recommend him to anyone that needs an eye Dr. Especially if the patient is young or new to glasses. He gives you confidence and you understand exactly what is going on before you leave the office.

My family has been going to Dr. Sherman for years. He is very thorough, caring, and takes a holistic approach to eye care. Also, he is covered by our insurance so our out-of-pocket cost is reasonable.
