Having just moved into the area, this practice was recommended to me. We have a 19 month old and have visited several times because of illness or well visits for shots. I wont be going back and am looking for new pediatrician in the area. Reasons why I would NOT recommend: There is not ample parking around the building. The front desk staff is unprofessional, unwelcoming, and do not give direction well. I was sternly spoken to (normal for Jersey?)by the front desk personnel on my first visit because I did not fill out all the forms. How was I to know? I was unable to get a sick visit for my child on a Friday. I was told by the person that answered the phone that they were triple booked and could not get me in until Monday. We actually ended up going to JFK Hospital because my child had a 103 temp and got better care by the staff there. When we did come to the practice on Monday, we told the nurse what happened and she said she would alert the doctor. After 15 minutes the doctor came into the room NEVER said anything to me about what happened. I even mentioned again to the doctor that we were forced to go to the hospital on Friday because we couldnt get an appt on Friday, and he did not address the issue, say he was sorry, nothing...I was floored! Be prepared for a 2 hour visit to the doctor. The process to see a doctor: Wait in the waiting room (no toys) for 15 minutes. Go into your room, wait another 10 minutes for the nurse. Wait another 10 minutes for the doctor. Then after the doctor sees you, he leaves, you get your child dressed. You then wait again in his/her OFFICE another 10 minutes to get the prescription and overview of the issue. CRAZY system. This is VERY HARD when you have multiple children to tend to, nevertheless, a sick child who just wants to go home. Why they make you go thru this process is beyond me. The whole establishment is DIRTY. There is grime everywhere. The waiting room has no toys, stained old tired carpet, tired and stained kid chair/table. In the exam room there is dirty step stool, inch thick dust on the heat register. Disgusting. The whole place is dreary, not child friendly, no bright colors, kind of depressing. The staff does not call and remind of appointments or well visits. They do not send out reminder cards. The nurses station always has 4-7 nurses on staff, which I think is overkill. Inconsistent care was given. Sometimes my child was weighed and temperature taken, sometimes not. They cant take blood (you have to go somewhere else for that). The doctors seem rushed and the care factor of all three in the practice is low. Only Santiago actually addressed my child and said hello. Im not going back. If you are looking for a pediatrician, dont go here.

I have used Pediatric Associates for 14 years. I have 3 boys, a 14 year old and 5 year old twins. I have never had a problem getting an appointment same day, unless it is after hours (evening and weekends), however the doctors are available 24 hours a day by telephone, and they do respond to every call. The office is clean, they have a well visit area and a separate sick visit area, they have a television with movies on constantly, the service is fast, most of the time you are in and out within 30 minutes of scheduled appointment. They do not have toys, they used to but because they could not clean the toys after each use (there are children in the office all day with all types of illnesses) it was decided that it was not hygenic. When the children are sick they go to all length to assist you, specialist referral is excellent, they will contact a specialist and get you in same day if needed, they will call you at home to check on a sick child, they even met us at the office on New Years morning, because they had 3 families whos children needed to be seen right away. Our boys all have their favorites, and the nurses are more than accommodating. We had to switch doctors at one point with our oldest because our insurance did not cover this group and we tried three different practices and none came close. Thank God we were able to come back to them and once the twins were born they accepted them right away. Out of the three doctors, Lebovics, Rosenblum and Santiago; Lebovics is our favorite, he is patient and knowledgeable, and gives great advice. Rosenblum is beyond dedicated and will usually see you on the drop of a dime (came in to treat the twins at 10am on New Years day ALONE, no nurses, just him, no complaints), Santiago is really good but is usually booked solid and seems to be more rushed than the other doctors, also is a woman and my 14 year old son refuses to be seen by her (Its a boy thing???). This practice should be a model for how things should be done.

As a new mom I took the recommendation of a friend to take my baby to Dr. Santiago of Pediatric Associates. This is a group of three doctors and I didnt stay with the practice long enough to have an opportunity to see Dr. Santiago. I was scheduled with both Dr. Lebovic and Dr. Rosenblum, the other two doctors in the practice. I felt rushed with Dr. Lebovic, and found him to be dismissive about breastfeeding. He also didnt introduce himself when he entered the room. He just started to examine my baby. I was expecting more interaction, and I left the first pediatric visit very disappointed. Dr. Rosenblum was more personable, and took the time to answer all of my questions at a one-month well visit. I was on the fence about staying with the practice for a third well visit, but the receptionist who answers the phone makes any interaction with the practice unpleasant for me. I was never able to finish my sentence before she asked for my babys name, and I was cut off more than once when I wanted to ask questions. Ive since switched to a one-doctor practice. Its unfortunate because Ive heard nothing but positive things about Dr. Santiago.

Dont get me wrong. The doctors are good. I havent had any issues with the doctors. The office staff leaves a lot of room for improvement. I had an appointment. I went there an hour before my appointment hoping they could see me earlier. There were three families who had appointments, in the waiting room before me, including a couple of sick visits. While I was waiting, another two families came in. All were seen before me. After the last one left, I went to the back and was like "Are we going to be seen today?" They were turning off the lights, getting ready to go. The receptionist had probably forgotten to put my sons file with the rest of the files for the people who had to be seen. They forgot about us completely! After that debacle, I did not return. They even had the never to bill be a co pay (for a scheduled wellness checkup which they had never billed me for before).
