ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! I brought my bichon poodle(7 months) in 2 months ago for an initial check up. They attempt to convince me he needs hundreds of dollars in services. They wanted test done from blood, worm, urine, stool etc.Being naive to veterinarians and clinics I trusted this was procedure. I did what i could afford. He had an ear and an intestinal infection. Forward two months later. My puppy has been recurgitating for three days in a row at night. I figured he ate something he shouldnt of.He had no pain, and was his hyper happy self after he regurgitated. Even went for more food and water. I brought him in anyhow to take myself out of complete doubt. After THREE hours at clark animal hospital, ive become use to the same routine. Doctor comes in on his $75/ 10 minute consultation. Next an assistant with 2 pages of possible diagnosis and fees. I am asked well how much can you afford. I say " about $200". Doctor comes in after blood test. "Your puppy has Pancreitis and I suggest he is hospitalized for three days." My main concern is my puppy, my second my pockets. I am now recommended my second option. To take the syringes, needles, etc at home and insert his IV myself. So thats what I do. (i also refused $250 x-rays, which btw $100 goes to the specialist to read them so i suggest you ask the vet to read them for free so u save 100 bucks) I GET HOME WITH MY PUPPY. He is completely sedated, lethargic, drooling and disoriented. I go over the whole itinerary and research the three injections that they inserted at the clinic with out explaining it to me during the insertion. One of which is BUPRENORPHINE (stronger dosage of morphine, used for pain and to cure heroine addicts) WHY WAS MY PUPPY INJECTED WITH BUPRENORPHINE WHEN I DIDNT BRING HIM IN FOR PAIN! he was absolutely fine and now he is sick. I stayed up all night to make sure he kept breathing because he was short with breath. When I called the doctor he says, " its the pancreatis ,and if u feel he needs to go to the ER then you should take him". REALLY?? after I paid you $700 plus to diagnose him, this is your response!. I waited until the next morning. Bubba (puppy) looked like he was waking up from anaestiesia . Vomiting all over white liquid and foam.I picked up his record from this clinic and drove him to our family veterinarian a town away (where I should of gone from the first place) He looked over everything and his consultation was 45 minutes not 10. It turns out he DOES NOT HAVE PACREATIS from the results of the blood results done in the clark clinic. HIS lipase level were a bit high but that was not a need to diagnose him with pancreatic OR drug my 7 months old puppy with such strong drugs! All he needed was an x-ray (which should of been done instead of blood test) and a few days of a diet and fluid. CLARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL IS A FRAUD. THEY MAKE YOUR ANIMALS SICK SO YOU KEEP GOING BACK. THEY COVER EVERYTHING UP WITH MEDICAL PROTOCOL. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT. THEY CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY CAN GET OUT OF YOU. TO SUIT THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES AND SPECIALIST. I am disgusted that this happened but even more disgusted that its legal! There two types of doctors the ones that care and have moral and the ones that are in it to cheat. Bubba is recuperating, but i will forever have to be careful with him because his poor 9 lb body has gone through so much unnecessary trauma. Im here to put them on blast!!!

I was just at this hospital with my pet Maltese due to her being fatigued and possibly suffered a seizure. I was not a new customer and had been there last year and was referred there by a friend "but my friend no longer goes there because of the unjustly costs. Ive notice when I searched for low cost veterinary care (after my visit), this hospital pops up but I find the term "LOW COST" an understatement. During my one day visit my bill came out to be a whopping $968.00 and that was after an alleged $20.00 discount (thankful for care credit but now i have this added debt). This was for blood work, an X-Ray, and a host of other itemized services that were allegedly performed. They then wanted me to take my dog to another hospital after this visit for her to stay overnight and be monitored, "WHAT!" "Absolutely not" just to incur more bills. I feel totally taken advantaged of & will not refer anyone else to this hospital. For starters, the veternarian that examined my dog should be well aquainted with the equipment in the office if youre referring to youre self as a"DVM". Just starting there is not an acceptable excuse and my dog is not an experimental animal. Next, dont prescribe medications to animals and then change the decision to not give it to them the following day (for future reference). Thankfully, I did not give this steroid to my dog. I advised the hospital that i will not be bringing my dog back, especially after being told it will be an additional fee for a follow up and $42.00+ for a 30 day supply of pills. Thank you for being kind, but youre in a customer service business and being kind and courteous is what is to be expected to keep your faithful and devoted costumers coming back. Just to add, there was another woman there that day with her dog that had an ruptured anal gland, and of course they wanted her to come back the next day to possibly discuss surgery, but once she was told the (COST, around $800.00) she said "absolutely not, I cant afford that" and stated that her sisters dog had the same issue and medication was prescribed, she already paid $111.00 now more money!. She stated to me that she will not be returning. I dont blame her because my sentiment is same. Yes, having animals come with a cost but it doesnt have to deplete the savings account each visit. Medical services whether its for an animal or human are one of the biggest and overpriced scams out there. Unlike health care insurance, there are not regulations on payments of whats allowed for animal care. I love my dog but Im not that homeowner that will be taking out a second mortgage to pay Clark Animal Hospital.

Clark Animal Hospital is amazing. We have brought our 3 dogs (Jasper since age 2 months, Rosey since age 2 years and Scout since age 7 years). We love our dogs like family and the doctors and staff from Dr. Joshi (the Director), Dr. Misra, Dr. Fortna (now retired), Dr. Kenney (retired) on down to the vet techs (Miguel, Brian, Josh, Douglas, Chris, Alena and many others) to the front office staff (Tanya, Catherine) have always treated us with compassion, respect, patience and professionalism. Our dogs have been to the vet for a wide-variety of ailments, from insect bites and allergic reactions to pancreatitis and auto-immune diseases. Clark Animal Hospital has saved our dogs lives more than once. A couple of times we had to be referred to a specialist veterinary hospital (ex: bilateral ACL replacement) but otherwise Clark Animal Hospital is equipped with diagnostic equipment, a wide-range of medicines and a surgical suite. The vet techs are well-trained can handle many minor procedures. I have read other negative reviews where the hospital is criticized for the wait times and costs. First of all, the hospital never turns away emergencies and if you are a pet owner, you know that there are many. The doctors must often triage their patients and give priority to walk-in emergency cases so others who have been there must wait. Thats how healthcare works! Speaking of healthcare, its not cheap. The doctors must diagnose and treat patients without ever having the patient explain what hurts, when it started hurting and how bad it hurts. When an x-ray needs to be taken, only a human can sit still for a few minutes while the x-ray machine takes pictures. Pets need to be sedated and RECOVER from sedation so it costs more and takes more time. However, you can be sure that Clark Animal Hospital will do everything in their power to make your pet well. Sadly, we have had to put Scoutie & Jasper to sleep. They each lived to the ripe old age of 12. Clark Animal Hospital provided us with this service and showed us compassion and empathy during these 2 most agonizing days of our lives. Again, they are amazing. Clark Animal Hospital gets 5 star-shaped doggie biscuits (out of 5) from this family. And our thanks.
