Had an appointment scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016 for my husband and I. We filled out a document for our information. The receptionist had another clients paperwork out on the desk in view for anyone to read. She didnt bother to cover it up. No HIPPA forms to sign. When it was time to go back to the doctor for examination time. I didnt see him wash his hands and sanitize them either. No medical examination gloves in view. He started with my husband and did his examination. He needed to be dilated for his exam. The doctor put 3 different types of drops in his eyes. He also was all up in his eyes with his bare hands. He left the room and I heard a toilet flush. When it became to my turn no washing of his hands or sanitation in front of me. He started my exam on the table machines, then he did the whole calabrating adjustments on the vision thing to read the letters on the mirror. Then he needed to check my eyes for any scarring since I mentioned that I have gotten pink eye really bad last November. He was all up in my eyes with his fingers after touching all the equipment. Lifting my eye lids, pulling down my eye lids, and the light was hurting my eyes and making them tear. He told me that he doesnt see any scarring or issues with my eyes. He said since I have light eyes "Blue Eyes" they are more sensitive to bright lights than dark eyes. He told me that I am still very capable of continuing to drive in the state of New Jersey. Well thats good I suppose. He asked me if I was doing glasses or contacts? I said depends on what you tell me I can have available to me. Since I have a bad stigmatism in my left eye. He said we can do both. So he took me out of the room to the contact training room. I washed my hands in the dry sink. He set out two boxes of contact lenses. Marking which one is Right and Left. I opened the box and unsealed the pack took the contact out and put it on my eye. Then the right lens. No problem I was like wow this is nice I can see clear and things are sharp. I can deal with this... I was reading the boxes and the one for my left eye I noticed the expectation date said 09/2015 and the right was ??/2020 I was like great one expired and one not. I wonder if this is going to effect me. Usually not, because they just technically cant sell them. However, its suppose to be a doctors office and they are suppose to be the same standard as any state and cdc regulation. I went out he asked me if I feel any issues with the contacts on comfort and able to see better. Yes I can see... I never got to the part to tell him the left lense is expired. So I went to pick out glasses and the older gentleman there. Did his measurements and options. I told him basic glasses. He never asked me if I wanted one or the other. He wrote the paperwork for both glasses and contacts. With my Fully covered vision plan and only a co pay of $70 for exams and glasses for my husband and I isnt bad. The bill came to like $165 or some crazy amount. Im like for what I have great vision coverage and only a copay for glasses or contacts. Covered why so much? Little miss receptionist was trying to make her lunch money. I said no only glasses thank you. So my husband will this week get my fitting done and Im not putting them contacts back in my eyes after this crap. I will get the script and get them elsewhere. So Saturday morning I woke up and my left eye was watering. My husband looked at it since hes in the medical field. He said you have Conjunctivitis. It was all weeping, red, and swollen. I honestly believe I got pink eye from this doctor. There were people before is and who knows what they carry. I am seriously going to complain when I pickup our glasses. I am going to my physician today and she is going to hear about this today. She may be taking care of this before I do. I just found the negative review on here today and now Im giving a huge NEGATIVE review. DONT GO TO THIS PRACTICE. GO ELSEWHERE AND READ REVIEWS PRIOR TO MAKING AN APPOINTMENT.

I have been a patient of Dr Dave for the last 8 years and highly recommend him and his office . I have found him and his staff very professional . I have recommended him to many other people and have never had anyone not thank me for the recommendation. I dont like to see negative reviews that seem to vindictive because patient was unhappy with insurance copay. I do not have vision insurance with my current health plan and have found Dr Dave reasonable and fair to work with all my vision needs

Never never go there if you have state insurance. He was charging me for things insurance covered, then he refused to make the call to get me my glasses until I paid his repair replace fee that was covered by my insurance. He lied to the provider and and wasnt even reporting the other repairs he supposedly did. He glued my daughters glasses and still charged me for the free services.

Horrible experience with the receptionist. Apparently she doesnt like colored people. If you are a minority avoid this place at all cost. Take your money to respectable people. She has to be causing them to loose clients. Such a disgrace.
