*These are just my personal views and experience I have had with them* My dog passed away a few months ago and I didnt want to write a review write away at the time because I did not want to bring my emotions into. My dog went there for pretty much her whole life. Vet seems to be very compassionate and caring, but seems to be a front, just like any good salesman. Extreme ripoff. All he seems to think about is money, money, and some more money. Granted, my dog was a big part of my family and we would have done anything to take care of her. They seemed to take advantage of the emotional distress we were in and charges seemed to fly out from everywhere. I always figured my dog was scared of "vets" in general so thought it was normal. About a year before she passed, we brought her to another vet who was by far the most compassionate and a genuine caring guy. You could see how much he cared and my dog never shaked or was scared when she was with him. Unfortunately, he retired and moved to florida so in the state of emergency she was in we brought her to tenafly again. What is extremely upsetting is that one night we kept her there for xrays, they broke her teeth. I have no idea how that happened. I wish I had my thoughts together at that time to say something, but at that time we couldnt think and just kept focusing on her pain and health. We brought her to an emergency veterinarian clinic and she was there for about 5 days trying to cure her. The rates that he charged in one night of xrays and tests pretty much matched 5 days of intensive care she was in. Also, we needed the xrays immediately and they would not release it until we had paid a $$$ to have it copied onto a disk. Its understandable, but during our 13 years we brought our pet we always paid ours bills in full, and wouldnt be complaining if they had sent us a statement after. But really??? From my personal experience I will never go back there again. Nickel and dime you literally for EVERYTHING. Total ripoff in my opinion. Wish the other vet didnt retire.

Undoubtedly the most traumatic moment of my 17 years was when my 1 year old puppy, Phoebe, was hospitalized for unknown gastrointestinal complications. Little did we know that she would need surgery. Despite the fact that we were psychologically unready for this sort of situation, Dr. Barnea, Dr. Han, and staff handled things in a most amazing and confidence-inspiring way. Dr. Barnea made sure that both my parents and I understood exactly what was going on, what our options were moving forward, and what he recommended. Not only did his initial consultation put us at ease, but also his attention to detail and constant availability to address further inquiry made the process as painless as possible. I even think that Phoebe enjoyed her experience with the affectionate and friendly staff members at the hospital. The office’s willingness to watch her after the first few days after the operation while I attended school and my parents were at work undeniably comforted her with company, and put my mind at great ease as well. My puppy means the absolute world to me and after my experience at the Tenafly Veterinary Center, it became clear to me that Dr.Barnea and his entire organization treat the patients under their care, like Phoebe, with the same love and tenderness that I do.

I have been for over a year coming to this Vet Center and I have no words to express how satisfy with the service and care, I have to thank everyone of the staff for always being the best with me and my little girl the attention care compassion service information dedication love is unbelievable, Dr Han has been Liwi s Dr . I have no words to describe the wonderful heart, woman and Dr she is I cannot take my little dog anywhere else but here and have the trust and confidence in everybody. LIZ, I love your dedication your patient your compassion your wonderful attitude all the times. The love you show for your job , I do thank you for every time Ive been there and you always and everybody always great to me. Jessica, Biliana, Chris, and everybody else, YOU ARE THE MUST AWESOME STAFF I EVER KNEW. Thank you Tenafly Veterinary Center for always being the greatest with me and my and my Liwi. I strongly recommend this place for any pet

this place is a total rip off!!!! I brought my dog there who was experiencing diarrhea for a couple of days. They gave me an estimate of $1300 to run tests and take an x-ray. Then they told me that the dog should stay overnight for IV fluids and that she had a partial obstruction. The following day he told me that it is a bacterial infection and said that he wanted to keep her for another night. I told him that I cannot afford a heavy vet bill and he said dont worry about it. Two days later I pick up my dog and he hits me with a bill for $1700!!! I said what happend to the estimate from yesterday and that I had already told him that I could not afford anything else. His response was, "I thought your main concern was a healthy dog. If you dont want the antibiotics then I dont have to give it to you". I am completely beside myself. Finding a new vet to say the least. !!!

This place is less then good or fair. Brought my dog there once. Theyre great at lying to you saying hell be fine, and putting on the act like they give one crap about your animals. They dont. The other reviewer saying they take advantage of your emotional distress is right on the money. This place and its owners arent worth the dirt on my boots, otherwise I would have gotten even for the lifetime I get to live with the memory of my dog having seizures all night and not being able to bring him anywhere or do anything about it, after they told me hed be ok. He lived less then 12 hours after seeing the vet here. And Tenafly Vetrinary Center is the same people as Cliffside Park Vetrinary center. I recommend if you care about your pets, bring them anywhere but them.

Tenafly Veterinary Center is the best animal service anyone could use for their pets. They are extremely professional, compassionate and cares for the pets as if they were their own. They take the time to explain in detail what is going on with your pet and keep you apprised of progress. We have been with this center for several years and with several cats that we have owned. Through the entire life cycle of our cats and especially when end of life decisions have to be made, they are with you all the way. Both Dr. B and Dr. H are exceptionally qualified as are the supportive staff. Would not go anywhere else.

My little Yorkie Chewbacca has been a patient of Dr.Barnea and Dr.Hahn since he was a little puppy. The staff at Tenafly Vet Center is the best in the area. They love my puppy like he is one of theirs. My pup Chew has been hospitalized at Tenafly Vet Center for over a week and I am willing to pay the premium for such amazing service. I love Dr.B, Billiana, Dr.Hahn, and the rest of the staff. Truly a stellar crew that works there. If I am ever in a bind or need to ask a question regarding my little man Chew, I contact them ASAP and they are more than willing to help.
