This is a great dentist. The staff is friendly and truly wants what is best for the patient. Though they are not in network with any insurance companies, I would pay the extra money to go see them as opposed to going to a bad in-network dentist. Good dentists are hard to find in Ithaca, but Dr. Purdys office is a good one. I recently began experiencing incredible pain in my bottom tooth. Though Dr. Purdy was out of network, I had heard good things about him (and poor things about some of the other dentists), so scheduled an appointment. The dentist assistant Anna was so incredibly helpful. She was able to get me in for an X-ray on Friday (the day I called) when the dentist wasnt there, and she emailed him the x-ray and pictures to figure out what was wrong. The doctor wasnt sure what was going on, but rather than jumping the gun and doing a root canal on the tooth that was hurting, he tried a few other things (ibuprofen to reduce swelling, a panoramic x-ray, another test to determine the pain). He was also happy to refer me to another dentist if I could get an earlier appointment or wanted a second opinion. After they referred me to an oral surgeon, the dentist assistant followed up with me to check on my pain. She also offered to provide me with quotes ahead of time (since Im out of network) so I could call my insurance to see what the fees would be.

I just had my first tooth pulled. Friends had told me that the Novocaine injections would be the most painful part of the procedure. I didnt even know Dr. Marc had done the injections because hed used a topical numbing substance first. I kept waiting to feel the needle and never did. I had not one ounce of pain through the entire procedure. I couldnt believe how easy it was! As always, Dr. Marc and his staff made it a very pleasant experience. Thank you!

They have a proactive approach to dentistry that I highly value. Ive always felt comfortable going here and looked forward to it, yes I said it looked forward to going to the dentist.

Dr Marc Purdy is a AAA+++ dentist. He, his staff and his assistants are first rate and fabulous! Everyone is so helpful and work together so well. I have had the best experience, having had everything from cleanings to major dental work. Dr Marc Purdy is gentle and thorough. I have the highest regards for Dr Marc Purdy and his staff!
