Update: Its amazing, some of the stories I hear from other patients I bump into on the way to his office. Today I shook a mans hand who was partially paralyzed. We walked to his office together from the elevator. He happily regaled his success story. I did mine. I seriously feel so lucky to have been blessed with the gift of knowing about Dr. Gertner. If you know someone who has a serious physical issue, I would be their hero and point them here. I know I will. Its mind-blowing that so few of my friends knew what an Atlas Adjustment was. Only two of my friends knew - the ones who had prior neck / head injuries. I had terrible pain in my shoulder every day for close to a year when I first heard about UCC. I was extremely skeptical about how a neck adjustment would have any effect on that. I had given up working out (it hurt too much) and had pretty much called it in, understanding that I would likely have shoulder pain for the foreseeable future, maybe for the rest of my life. I had tried numerous other options prior, and finally started researching Atlas Adjustments (or NUCCA, as they call it here). The research made sense, I felt slightly more comfortable (not really), but enough to give a shot. The adjustment was so light I didnt really think it would do anything, then the next day my neck was very uncomfortable (I was surprised it worked). Dr. Gertner told me I was likely to feel some pain or discomfort the day after, but it would quickly subside. It did, and after the second day, I felt great. Also, I noticed that I didnt have any shoulder pain for those days. I continued going, its been several months now. We took a scan within a week of the initial treatment, and all of the subluxation in my spine was pretty much gone (Im 26). I havent felt shoulder pain yet. Im honestly completely shocked that it worked, especially because of how light the treatment was (he barely presses on your head behind your ear). Im really just stunned that it can have such an effect on your body. Besides my shoulder feeling better, Ive felt overall better in a way thats tough do describe besides saying "I just feel great". Take each review for what it is, but in my case, wow do I not regret going. This was one of the best decisions Ive ever made. I can play tennis and workout again, and believe me, I am taking full advantage. Thanks Dr. Gertner, I will send every person I know to come get a scan from you at least. No one should suffer the effects of spinal subluxation, and I wouldnt be surprised now to find out how many odd bodily issues are caused by it.

The care I have received from Dr. Gertner has literally forever changed the outcome of my life. When I first entered Dr. Gertners office, I was suffering from chronic and debilitating neck, shoulder and back pain. Various professionals had diagnosed my pain as depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and/or migraines. I was on about 10 different drugs and, notably, under the care of a different, more mainstream/traditional chiropractor (snap, crackle, pop), a physical therapist, and affording myself weekly massages. I was missing work 2-3 days a week on average and utterly in total despair trying to find a solution. After one week of treatment with Dr. Gertner, my migraines ceased. After a month, I was off ALL of these medications. After two months, I was back to a routine work schedule and loving it. After a year, I was able to handle the strain of a pregnancy, medication-free, and ultimately I had the natural, drug-free birth I had hoped for. Several years later I continue to be under Dr. Gertners care, but on a maintenance schedule. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been, or ever imagined it was possible for me to be. I now work a rigorous work schedule and care for two young children whenever I am not working... I am go-go-go and feel fantastic. I attribute this life-changing success, 100%, to the care I received at UCCNY. Nothing else worked. This did. And beyond any and all expectations I could have had when I walked through this door. If you want to change your life - to find hope - to heal - to live to your fullest potential, TREAT YOURSELF TO THIS CARE. It will change your life - guaranteed.

Dr. Gertners office has the saying "Expect Miracles" and that is exactly what we experienced with my 15 year old son. On October 15,2016 my son received a helmet to helmet blow to the side of his head during a high school football game. Four months later, he was still suffering unbearable headaches on a daily basis, dizziness, head tremors and muscle loss in his arm and hand. He had had every test imaginable. The treatment was drugs. Anti-depressants and medicine to relieve the headaches. That was the final straw to try an alternative. We went to Dr. Gertner scared to death of manipulation of his neck. Once we arrived (3 hours away from our house) Dr. Gertner explained everything and was so reassuring that he can help our son. After watching the very gentle procedure I really thought we wasted a lot of time. The next day, Jakob didnt have a headache. I figured it would surely come back. We went back for the second treatment a few days later and it was like a switch. My son was coming back to me. Pain free, laughing, smiling, enjoying life again, none of which I had seen in many months. It has now been 3 months since we started with Dr. Gertner and I have witnessed a miracle. I wasnt expecting a miracle but that is exactly what we received! I share my sons story to anyone I know that I think Dr. Gertner can help! Please if you are in pain please see if Dr. Gertner can help!

I just want to start by saying that I am NOT a relative or in any way associated with Dr. Gertner. Ive been dealing with Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia for over 10 years now. I have tried all kinds of other therapies that have helped me, but incrementally. I have always had a pain on the side of my neck that has never gone away in the past 10 years. Through Dr. Gertner I learned that the pain was due to a misalignment and it was affecting my motor nerves and the main cause of my fatigue. This is why even though I felt better internally, I would easily get fatigued working out, playing basketball or doing any physical activity. Most other doctors told me that my mitochondria of my cells need to function better. Since getting treatment, I have been progressively feeling better. Im still in treatment, but can tell you that the level of relief and progress that I have felt is unlike anything in the past 10 years. I do believe however that eating right, and understanding your body is also important to get maximum recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Gertner to anyone looking to improve their health. Please feel free to contact me if I can help in any way.

I began seeing Dr. Gertner 6 years ago when my broken ankle meant I had to be on crutches for a month which was causing pain from misalignment. Note only did I experience a great improvement there, but ongoing back pain from childhood began to resolve. I had a number of very jolting accidents as a child, and the pain in my lower back was a resulting chronic condition. I cannot accurately remember the time frame now, but I believe it was by the end of month 6, 7 or 8 of seeing Dr. Gertner that I no longer had pain. Since then I have needed to visit between once a week and once a month (depending on the sports Ive been doing and the heavy things Ive been foolishly lifting!) to maintain this alignment. And, in all these years, I have been back pain free. It is a blessing. I continue to see Dr. Gertner regularly to help maintain my health and wellbeing. And to minimize arthritis and spinal disc-related issues that can manifest as one ages. It makes sense to me - since I want to be active and healthy for the rest of my life - to invest in cares to maintain my current good health (rather than waiting for a health problem and then try to "fix" it).
