I would first like to say that the vets themselves are caring and competent! HOWEVER!!! !My dog went in for neutering. I specifically relayed that he had only been kenneled once with disastrous results injuring himself. He was placed on a concrete floored kennel with no blanket. I tried to get the vet to let me bring him home early realizing that as soon as the anesthesia wore off he would be upset enough to injure himself. I called repeatedly and asked to bring him home. I asked to visit and assess him for myself. I was told no. When I picked him up first thing the next morning they told me his paws were bloody and injured because he tried to dig out of that concrete and chain link kennel. No one made ANY effort to listen to my suggestion for MY beloved pet. He was simply treated without any regard to his past history or his gentle nature. When he saw me is the office he looked at me as if to say "How could you do this to me?" My dog is exceptionally well trained. I am often asked to train other peoples dogs because he is beyond belief in his behavior and his willingness to please. When I think of how I let the staff take liberties with my most beloved friend it sickens me. My dog should not have gone through this. If you want a higher level of comfort and care for your pet I would suggest Animal Ark. If all you can afford is the basics, go to ABRI! Once again the vets care very much...but the facilities are minimal and I was greatly displeased that no one made any effort to accommodate my dearest buddy and he left with torn, damaged and bloodied paws.

Have been an extremely satisfied since 1976, Beloved family treated here have included 2 Dalmatians, 2 poodles and perhaps a dozen dear felines. Years ago my 4.5 lb tiny toy Poodle, Suzi, went into full anaphylaxis after a DHL vaccine. Fortunately,a clerk asked of me if Suzi always presented that appearane.: tongue hanging out, eyes rolled back and incontinent of stool/ 1 quick took and I knew immediately that she was in a life threatening emergency status!, I requested them to please call and notify Dr Harris of the situation and that we werereturning immediatel. with a request that the be onstandb, read for her emergenc admit for life saving action She was red light returned back to Dr Harris, the original Abri Veterinarian. This was over 30 ears ago. es,Dr Harris did save Suzi. He kept her under close IV ICU observation that afternoon. I believe we went home that night with a heparine lock in onefront leg vein maintain emergency IV acceses as needed In more recenty years, my animals, including the occasional widlife rehabb Opposum ,Bat or flying squirrll , have all received excllentcareby Dr Charles Bechallis, ,DVM. I wouldHighl recomment Abri as a clinic where the Veterinarians and the sttaff truly care about their patients!!.................. ........lyn B Bishop, RN

Been going to Abri for 13 years and they have become the worst vet in Winston-Salem. Refused to see our dog whom has a blood clot in her ear and is suffering quite a bit and will not eat or drink. We have no money to pay up front and they refused to work a payment plan out with us. Even after 13 years of bringing our animals to them. Just spent over $1000 last year with them to get our dog treated for heartworms, but when we are struggling they refuse to help. They dont care about the animals. All they care about is the all mighty dollar. The worst ones there are Robin and Beth. The front desk girls are cruel and heartless. No regard for the animal or the owner who has to watch as their dog suffers and can do nothing to help relieve the suffering. We hope to get help from AARF. BUT NEVER USE ABRI. FACILITIES ARE OUTDATED. THEIR VETERINARIAN SKILLS ARE OUTDATED AND THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING ARE DEFINITELY NOT THE CLEANEST! BAD PEOPLE ALL AROUND!

In 1990 my husband and I entered into a lifetime commitment with the vets and staff of Abri, we didnt know it at the time, just like we didnt know there was a path to our door for unwanted kitties. In this time, Abri has provided service to our 11 cats. From taking care of fleas when they were indoor kittens to full check ups before we took in the older homeless ones, to treating "colds" to much more complicated medical problems - like 3 years of treatment and support during a battle with gi lymphoma. For 6 of our 11, they have been there to see them out of this life and provide comfort to us, the humans. The staff have always been helpful with getting our "supplies" together or made sure it was ok for me to visit when one of ours has had to stay over to recuperate from a surgical procedure. I consider us fortunate to have Abri with us.

I called the message service on a Sunday morning because my cat was having the symptoms of what I thought to be a urinary tract infection. I was very worried about her and wanted to get her antibiotics ASAP. I was told that I would get a call back from a vet when they had the chance. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. I am extremely annoyed with their service as my poor cat was in discomfort for a full 24 hours. Even if they knew she would be okay for 24 hours, I expect a vet to return my phone call to at least let me know this. I am, in result, changing vets. These people will never see my cat again; I will find a vet that actually cares, even on the weekends.

Love these guys. They are great about seeing you as soon as possible, even if youre a walk-in. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the doctors are all great. We take our special needs kitty there (shes a perma-kitten and has severe cerabellar hypoplasia). Dr. McAvoy also has (or has had) a CH kitty and knows just how to treat them. This is a huge deal to us, as other vets (not Abri) have not made allowances for the cats special condition, which could be a disaster. Anyway, great vets, great rates, great service!

I so disagree with these ppl they have been wonderful and caring in every aspect to both of my cats. Especially bella who was past her due date and is now doing wonderful as well as her kittens. I have recommended them to alot of ppl who say the same thing. Its unfortunate what happened to ur dog but in reality I have seen them take wonderful care of 3 legged dog and other animals with great care and compassion. Great job you folks do, dont be discouraged by anyone!!!

Best people in the world! I will furever be grateful to Dr. Bocholis and his wonderful staff for the care and compassion that not only did my sweet boy receive during his 11 day stay, but I did as well. Their entire staff was probably having a party when I left with him because I called 2 and 3 times a day and was up there every morning before work to see him.

Took my cat here to get spayed wasnt happy with the results. They used stitches that need to be removed 10 days later. Took my other cat to a great place in Greensboro .. no stitches . The staff is friendly but you could tell the place is old . I wouldnt take my cats back here for anything !
