I was referred to this clinic because we adopted our dog from the Humane Society of Broward. They have an arrangement with them for a free check up for the first visit. I told them my pet kept itching she brushed him over with a flea comb and said he was fine he didnt have fleas, that some dogs just have skin conditions where they have itchy skin. He continued to itch it was not improving so I took him to my vet in Homestead. My vet looked him over on his stomach and under his armpits where he had a really bad rash because he had some sort of skin infection. The VCA never even looked under his belly or arms. They also said he did not have worms. And when we got home that night his stool was full of long white worms, which my vet also treated because I showed her the picture of the worms. I was supposed to go back to get a humane society arranged free rabies vaccine from them when he was old enough. I left work early because I drive all the way from Homestead, I hit some traffic on the highway and I called to give them a heads up I might be 10 minutes late. They refused to wait even though it was just a rabies vaccine and canceled my appointment. She told me she was going to have to cancel me anyway when I got there because they had two emergencies. If this was true then why didnt they call me beforehand so I wouldnt be wasting the drive, and if it was not true then they simply didnt want to wait 10 minutes to give the puppy a rabies vaccine. I have never worked at a clinic or doctors office where they dont allow a 15 minute grace Period. I explained I was coming from Homestead and I left work early but they did not care. I will never go there again, and I will never refer anyone to the VCA.

Great experience. They treated my Parrot with care. She completely fractured her wing and Dr. Harris (thank god) fixed her up, perfectly. Great Job, Doctor! I would suggest this to people that have birds or exotic pets, that may have a medical condition. My bird is 25 years old, and I was really concerned about where to take her. But this place relieved my panic. Also they have a 24 hour emergency service, so if your exotic pet or (regular animal) is badly injured take them there immedialty! They will stabilize the animal and then see them in the morning. If it isnt an emergency, make sure you make an appointment or you will spending lots of cash. But, that comes with owning exotic pets, and regular animals. They take in all animals, too! So just know, from a person that is very meticulous about where my bird goes, that this place is a place to take all animals. I hope this message relieves some peoples minds. If there was no star thats what they would get. I was running late for my dogs appointment I called the clinic to tell them. When I arrived fifteen minutes after my appointment they told me that the doctor wasnt going to see my dog because I was late.These people are very unprofessional, the receptionist were snooty, made me and my wife feel like a lower class of people they seem like they were better than other people. The waiting room was empty there was nobody but us. I think after I told them that I had a No Charge Coupon for first time visit, is why they cancelled my dogs appointment. This tells me these people are only in it for the money and not for the welfare of the animals. Very disappointing that business today have no care for their customers. I would not recommend going to VCA South Dade Animal Hospital because with then you have to be perfect, they must live in a perfect world.

Truly the best veterinarian I have ever seen, been to, and even heard of! My little ferret child had gotten adrenal disease and me and my fiance were devastated. Not only did the brilliant Dr. Don Harris save our little boy, but he also helped us out with all our issues before and after the surgery, now a few months later our boy has made a full recovery and is better than ever before. I will recommend this establishment and Dr. Don Harris till the day I die. The staff is also absolutely stellar and the facility is beautiful too.

I took my snake in for an infection she had in her mouth they put her on 3 weeks of antibiotics after the three weeks they wanted me to pay another consultation fee for a follow-up. To me that seems a little ridiculous when its the same issue I took her in 3 weeks ago. I would have thought that the doctor would want to make sure they did not charge me another consultation

Always great! Dr. Arthur Scherr has treated all of our animals. He is not an alarmist, but treats one step at a time unless of course there is an emergency. I recommend him without reservation.
