Our experience with The Pet Emergency Room was horrendous!!! We took our bullmastiff on 6/23/17 (Friday evening) because she wasnt walking and was lethargic. We went to this clinic because it is the animal emergency my veterinarian has listed after-hours. Prior to testing being conducted the clinic gave us a proposed invoice showing a high and low amount of much the the treatment would cost. The lowest amount was $1,400 and the highest was $2,700. In this clinic you had to deposit the lowest amount so further testing can be conducted. At a dire time, being a loving pet owner, you would do anything for your animal, and that is what we did!! That night Dr. Meyer (who was one of the nicest people in that clinic and the emergency Dr. that night) conducted several tests and found a mass near our dogs trachea/heart. She stated that she needed to consult with her boss to confirm the diagnosis. Dr. Meyer asked us if our dog had any prior history of problems and we mentioned she had started to have kidney failure month prior. The following morning 6/24/17 my husband and I spoke with the Internal Medicine doctor (Dr. Meyers boss), Dr. Terry Carro. Dr. Carro felt that the mass was not the cause of why our dog was not walking but possibly the reason why she was being lethargic. Dr. Carro mentioned that her not walking could be because she had an injury. She felt that it was her kidney failure was the root of the problems. Mind you, our dog walked perfectly fine on Thursday, 6/22/17. Long story short, my husband and I decided to take our dog home on 6/25/17 and got resistance from Dr. Carro and her staff. Dr. Carro met with us in person and that interaction was HORRIBLE!! Dr. Carro was very defensive, unprofessional, and yelled at my husband when he was stating to her that she was unable to provide us with a final diagnosis as to why our dog wasnt walking. At the end, my husband and I decided to take our dog to her veterinarian the following day, 6/26/17. My doctor saw the notations and paperwork the Pet Emergency had provided to us. From the moment our doctor heard her chest with the stethoscope, stated that our dog was barely breathing and wanted to conduct an X-Ray. Our doctor showed us a comparison of our dogs X-Ray to a healthy dogs. She stated she had liquid and air in her abdomen in addition the mass was pushing her organs; she was suffering. So we had to make the hardest decision ever and humanely euthanize our little girl. We did not want her to suffer any longer than what she had. If we knew this wouldve happened we wouldve never wanted to take her to the Pet Emergency Room. Unfortunately in situations like these, this emergency clinic is money hungry. I found out after the ordeal that Dr. Terry Carro is the owner of the Pet Emergency Clinic/SVRC, and of course she wanted us to keep our dog there to charge us even more money into her pocket. Please if you have the choice do not bring your pet here. If we could give it a rating of a ZERO we would!

My dog ate a bunch of small turkey bones that were left out and was vomiting and pooping blood. Brought him to this emergency room since it was the closest one i could find that was open after 6pm on google. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a receptionist who clearly lacks the ability to even pretend to emphasize at all with your situation, nor, show any signs of urgency. She immediately informs me that they require a 90$ examination fee just to be seen. i pay it and take a seat. After waiting about an hour in the reception area with my ill dog, I complained multiple times. However, the receptionist continued to assure me I would be brought into a waiting room soon and that the dr. Was seeing to an emergency. Another half hour passed with my dog peeing and vomiting blood all over the waiting room. However, the receptionist had disappeared to the back so there was no one to notify! FINALLY, we were rudely whisked into a private room, where we told a nurse would examine the dog. Of course, the customary half hour passes before the nurse enters the room. She takes the dogs temperature and looks at him for 30 seconds. That concluded the 90$ examination. She says the dr. Will be with us shortly (yeah right). An HOUR passes and I get so infuriated I walk into the back room and demand to be seen by someone. Finally the doctor comes in and says she will need to take X-rays, but first she will draw up an estimate and leaves the room. Another 15-20minutes later she arrives back with the estimate. It was slightly over priced but still within reason. I agree to the estimate and she informs me that she will set up the X-ray and return. 20 minutes... No sign of dr... 30 minutes... No sign of dr... 40 minutes passes and once again, I go into the back room and see the nurses laughing and on their cell phones clearly not busy. Startled that I had he guts to walk back there, they follow me back to my room and take the X-rays. The dr. Returns with the X-rays and says , yes, there is in fact bones in your dogs body. She prescribes the dog a canned food that will help the bones pass easier. I am told I can pick it up at the reception desk. At the reception I pay for the X-ray and canned food. After paying, the receptionist tells me she is going to the back to get the food. She returns 5 minutes later and says they are out of the food!! She prescribes me a similar yet less effective version of the food and I leave. The next morning I take my dog to his vet for some proper professional care and he turns out fine. This is the sorriest excuse for an animal care hospital. The staff is rude, the wait is forever, and all they care about is money! There is another 24/7 hospital right down the road. Please avoid a horrible experience and go there!!!

Ive never written a review for anything online, but felt compelled to after reading some of the reviews here on Google. This past Friday on Labor Day weekend, we brought our Weimaraner to her usual vet (not the Pet Emergency Room) after a few days without much appetite and a general lack of energy. After tests, our vet informed us the she was in end-stage kidney failure. He prescribed her steroids and a special food designed to flush out toxins in the kidneys. We were instructed to monitor her and let him know on her status in a week. Unfortunately, her condition worsened dramatically between Friday and Saturday night. Her breathing became extremely shallow and labored, and she was no longer able to eat or drink. I stayed up with her all of Saturday night and she was in extreme discomfort, unable to sleep for longer than a few minutes at a time and struggling to breathe. Her lungs, I would learn, were filling with fluid. She could no longer effectively walk on her own, and had to be carried. Our vet - like most vets I know - are closed on Sundays. Accompanied by the fact that Monday was Labor Day, we were dreading the notion that our dog would have to suffer for two more days. I called the Pet Emergency Room and the woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely kind and professional. They said we could bring our dog right in. When we arrived, we were able to bring our dog directly into the examination room. The entire staff - every single person we encountered - was beyond compassionate and professional throughout the entire difficult process. They took our dog to the back to place a catheter in her arm, and brought her back into the room, allowing us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. When the doctor and the vet tech came into the room to perform the procedure, both were extremely kind and professional. Losing a pet is like losing a member of your family. I want to thank every single member of this establishment for the utmost kindness and respect they showed us in a very difficult time. I give them my highest regard.
