I honestly don’t know where these 5-star reviews are coming from. Yes, the office is nice and modern, but you have to pay for it with your own teeth. Here is my story. I came to the Bright Smile Dental for a cleaning. Before I had been going to different dentists regularly and hadnt had cavities for about 4 years (or at least I was told so). I went into the office completely pain-free teeth wise. When the hygienist was cleaning my teeth, she complimented me and said that my teeth look good expect for some staining from coffee and tea. When dr Cheung reviewed my x-ray, with a very tragic facial expression he said : ”We have a problem. You need 6 fillings and two crowns. Your teeth are in a very bad condition. You must have a sweet tooth”. I replied that I don’t have a sweet tooth. Then he said “Well, do you drink a lot of soda then?” I replied that I don’t drink soda at all. Then he asked “Do you drink a lot of tea or coffee with sugar?” I responded that I don’t add sugar in any of my drinks…. Then he declared that I have soft enamel. At first I was skeptical about the results of his examination, but Dr Cheung was so good at making me believe my teeth will fall out soon if I don’t get dental work done that I decided to go ahead and “fix” two bottom molars on the left side… BIG mistake. Both of them had big fillings in them. The dentist suggested putting a crown on one tooth due to a lot of decay and a filling on the other one. He said “You need to do it now, or you will need a root canal in the future”. Well, guess what: after letting him work on those teeth I ended up having to root canal both of them within a month, because they were hurting so much. But let’s go back to the dental services I received from Dr Cheung. The first visit where he had to prepare the tooth for the crown and take an impression. It took OVER two hours and the proper impression was never taken. The doctor was working on multiple patients at the same time and I had to sit in the chair and wait for long periods of time. His assistant was a student/intern and it was her first crown impression ever. She and another assistant tried multiple times, but in the end they told me they couldn’t take the impression because of the “bleeding”. They put a temp crown on the tooth and told me to come back again. At the same time, Dr Cheung put a filling in the tooth next to the one he was going to crown. The color of the filling was DARK BLUE. When I saw my poor teeth I started crying. I was crying even more when I got home, the anesthesia wore off and I got hit by excruciating pain in both teeth. It didn’t help that the temporary crown was not placed properly and all the food and drink I had would leak right through it. When eventually I got the crown placed, it was the wrong height. I couldn’t close my mouth without being in pain. The filled tooth was hurting too (I ended up getting it root canaled after having a month of sleepless nights). I went to the Dr Cheung’s office multiple times to have the crown adjusted, got charged for each and every of these visits and the crown was STILL uncomfortable. The truth is, the impression was not taken correctly. When I finally went to another dentist, he said the could fix the bite, but that would take the ceramic layer of the crown off and expose the metal. At that point the only thing I wanted was to NOT be in pain anymore so I told him to do it anyway. The new dentist was also very surprised at my blue filling and said he never seen anything like that before. He also couldn’t find any other “cavities” previously discovered by Dr Cheung. End result: I haven’t been able to eat on the left side of my mouth ever since. It’s been a year now. My advice: if you are going to this dentist for a free/discounted cleaning because you got a coupon in the mail, do just that – get the free cleaning, but don’t let him do any other work on your teeth. Find a more competent professional.

Ive been a patient of Bright Smile Dental for a couple years now and it has been a great experience. Like most of you I dont necessarily enjoy going to the dentist but if Im there I like to feel comfortable and Bright Smile definitely sets the bar high. I switched to Dr. Chueng (Jerry) because my PREVIOUS dentist (Closer to home) had terrible customer service and they were always behind schedule. Bright Smile Dental has been a completely opposite experience. Both at the previous location and the new location Ive received nothing but bright smiles (No Pun Intended) every time Ive visited. Last week I received a temporary crown and today I had some discomfort associated with the procedure. Jerry and his staff were very accommodating to fit me into their schedule when it was convenient for me after normal business hours and on short notice. I was truly impressed last week when Jerry personally called me a couple days after my crown replacement to check on how I was doing. This type of service is a dying breed and Jerry is keeping it alive. I would definitely recommend Dr. Jerry Cheung and Bright Smile Dental because of their world class customer service, quality dental work, and top of the line facility. Jerry and staff keep doing what your doing because it makes a difference!!! The only thing Id recommend is bringing back the email version of confirming appointments.

My first visit to Bright Smile was on a whim. One of my front teeth cracked and it was 5:50 P.M. on a Tuesday night , and Bright Smile closed at 6:00 P.M. I called them and they told me to come right in - which I was already surprised that they would even take a patient at that time. When I arrived, the dentist looked at my tooth and put a temporary cap on the tooth, without even worrying about the fact that his office closed at 6:00. About half an hour later I was good to go. At that time, the office was closed on Wednesdays, but he told me to come back in the next day and took an impression and made sure the cap fit correctly (he scheduled me an appt on a day his office was closed!). I was very impressed by the amazing customer service of Candace and Dr. Cheung. The practive is very customer oriented and they are all very polite and have great sense of humor. I have had multiple procedues done since this time, from cleanings, crown work (they made the unpleasant, bearable on this one - impressive in itself!), and a bite splint. They have been very knowledgable and helpful through every visit and have even fixed my bite splint after procedures that have adjusted my bite (and shifting teeth from my own failure to wear it regularly!). Very friendly practice with great people!!

Worst dentist in Columbus! Dont go here even if your life depends on it. First, I get there and I had to wait almost an hour to get seen by one of the technicians. Then, they spent maybe five minutes cleaning and polishing my teeth. After sitting in the chair for about 20 minutes, Dr. Cheung comes in and says I have two cavities, even though he merely glanced at my x-rays. I agreed to get the filled that day. They refused to numb me during the procedure. The fillings were very jagged and uneven, and I had to have my old dentist file them down so they were smooth and didnt affect my bite. Later, my mother went in to get a crown on a tooth that chipped many years ago. They barely numbed her during the procedure and she is still in pain nearly a month later. Dr. Cheung rushed through the whole ordeal saying "I can do this fast. Im the fastest dentist around." Excuse me, dentistry is not a race. We both felt like we were herded through there like animals, and that the staff really didnt care about our comfort. When I left I felt like I had been punched in the mouth. I will NOT be coming back here.
