By far one of the best doctors that I have encountered. I had trouble initially getting into a rheumatologist due to the fact that the PCP that I had at the time refused to order the tests they wanted. I ended up as a pawn in the middle of two spatting doctors. I ended up waiting several years to get my arthritis issues addressed as a result of their arguing. I tried to contact several and the response I got from most of the offices was abysmal. Dr. Shanmugam had an appointment time within two weeks. I saw her and her evaluation and follow-up were very good. She was understanding and good at listening without judging (its hard when a problem is not clearly visible). She ordered the appropriate tests, gave me her assessment, recommended I go for a 2nd opinion (which I did and they agreed with her) and got me on a treatment plan. I would highly recommend her. She has been a real help.

Worst experience ever! Everything from the office staff to the doctor herself was awful. The secretaries are rude and unprofessional. Especially Sue. (The one who scheduled appointments!). The doctor has such limited hours and clearly has no bed side manor. All they seem to care about is your $$ and then they act like they are doing you a favor by seeing you. What a joke! I would not recommend PMA to my worst enemy!
