The most knowledgeable psychiatrist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Some people feel they have to wait too long. However the practice of psychiatry is an interwoven network of life experiences, genetics, natural resilience and how day- to-day stressors impact an individual. There is no prescription that is "one size fits all" and effective long-lasting benefits can only occur when the physician knows the dynamics driving each patients unique lifestyle and how psychiatric needs manifest themselves. This takes time and the development a relationship between the client and the psychiatrist which allows time to determine which medications are likely to produce positive results. Dr. Parrott does not throw medication darts at the patient dartboard. He evaluates all factors impacting an individual. This takes time. If you are not committed to making lasting positive changes in you mental health, go somewhere else and do not waste your time or Dr. Parrotts. However, if you are committed to improving the quality of your mental health life, put the time in that is necessary to know the true reasons behind your mental health needs. Be open. Be honest and forthcoming in sharing information. And - be patient. For every minute have had to wait, when your time with Dr. Parrott arrives, there is no clock and you are treated as if helping you is the only thing of any consequence. For the first time many patients develop a dialogue with the doctor that provides the clues to effective treatment. It is not convenient for either you or Dr. Parrott to be off schedule. But if you are the patient needing help, you will be given the time necessary to know you as a person with specific needs and factor all these considerations into your treatment. Decide if you truly want to resolve your issues and improve your quality of life and invest the amount of time it takes to do so. You will never regret this decision but know recovery is a partnership, not just a prescription. If this is what you want, there is no better choice anywhere, in my opinion, than Dr. Earl Quillon Parrott.

I have been seeing Dr. Parrot for over a year. I have never liked the experience but continued to go because of insurance reasons. Every time I went there was an absurd waiting time. between 1-2 hours of waiting. I even scheduled my appt as his earliest one time and still waited 45 minutes. The last time I scheduled I drove from work to see him him, which was an hour, for a four pm appt and waited until 545 and was still not seen. I left at that point. I have a family I would like to spend time with an other obligations. He is disrespectful of his patients time. When I was in the office with him he was full of non sequiturs and sometimes just nonsense. He showed no empathy or really explained any kind of diagnosis. He was akward and not helpful. I continued to see him because I wanted to continue on my anti depressants. I will be seeing another psychiatrist from now on and suggest you do the same. I have two masters and am a full time employee with a family.

My husband has been seeing Dr. Parrott for over a year. He normally has to wait for over 45 min. past the appointment time to be called into office. Last appointment was for 9am, he waited 30 min. and Dr. Parrott hadnt even arrived to his office yet so he left at 9:30am. Later that day the receptionist called and left a message to reschedule saying Dr. Parrott had a emergency and cancelled all his morning appointments. A couple days later I get my statement from BC/BS and they were charged for this appointment. Needless to say we are done with Dr. Parrott.

Dr. Parrot is eccentric, and he has long waiting times. I usually have to wait 2 or more hours to see him. That being said, he is a genius. I was a wreck when I first saw him. He talked to me for 3 hours in our session. He got to the root of the problem and gave me medicine that fixed me up in a day or two. He is the best psychiatrist I have ever been to. I cannot recommend him enough.
