Note: I contacted the dental office prior to making this review public. No response was received after one week. As I chose this office based upon Google reviews and location, I think its only fair to share my experience. I am very disappointed with my choice to visit Trinity Dental in Tomball. My experience was during the two week period from 08/10/15-08/14/15. 1st - Made an appointment for 11AM because I have a broken tooth that was causing pain. I arrived at 10:45 to allow for paperwork as requested. I was called back at 12:15 (but waited another 30-45 minutes) because morning appointments had pushed the schedule back. I understand. However, a phone call or notice upon arrival would have been appreciated. My time is valuable and I could have ran errands during this time. This issue, I could have looked past. The dentist said I would need a root canal and crown and requested additional x-rays to be sure I wouldnt need a specialist. Scheduled root canal for August 14th. 2nd - Brought my two adult children in for an exam and cleaning. The cleaning was not much more than what could be achieved by toothbrush. Disappointing. My son needed two fillings so we went ahead with the procedure. He said it was the worst pain he has ever experienced in his life (and hes had a root canal). He accepts some responsibility for not stopping the dentist. However, it has been over a week and the tooth that was not hurting before now causes him shooting pain! Were not sure of what to do about it yet. He leaves for college in one week. 3rd - I came in for my root canal on Friday, August 14th. The dentist did a good job of numbing my mouth prior to starting. He drilled and drilled and then stopped. He said I had an extra canal that was too small for his equipment and a calcified root. He said he was capable of completing the root canal but it would be too time consuming. He gave a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers and left to see other patients. The assistant put in temporary filling material. She told me this is the same stuff that can be bought at Walgreens OTC. Over half dissolved, and I swallowed, over the weekend. While in mild pain before, now I have extreme pain. I opted to visit another provider and give up on this office. I have now found, from the other dentist, that I no longer have enough tooth to save and need an extraction and bridge. The other option is an implant. I will no longer have a tooth, because so much was drilled by Dr. Tay, who couldnt perform the root canal anyway, and will have to spend thousands of dollars for repair. Out of three visits to this office, they were all very bad. I chose this office based upon google reviews and proximity to my home. I have learned my lesson and will drive 30 minutes to a dental office that has provided good care in the past. On this form, there is an option to "Rate Our Services" from 1-5. I have chosen the 1, hoping this is the worst rating. The office staff was nice enough (other than not telling me about appointments running almost two hours behind) but the actual dental work performed by the dentist, assistants, and hygienists was EXTREMELY poor. My time, money, and tooth are now all gone. I highly recommend AGAINST using this dental office.

I agree with earlier reviewer Allison Ellis. It was also my first appt there due to changes in my insurance. Pro: The front desk employees were polite, waiting room was nicely decorated, and wait time was minimal. Cons…. The hygienist: The dental hygienist assigned to me had no idea what she was doing. She spent no more than 15 minutes in my mouth from start to finish and she did not explain what she was going to do as she should have with a new patient. Off the top of my head this is what I recall…She took an x-ray, but performed no physical exam whatsoever (throat, jaw, etc.). She halfheartedly checked my molars for cavities, gums for recession (gum disease run in the family so I’m on top of this), and barely scraped any plaque/tartar buildup. Then she halfway polished my teeth, and like Alison did not floss nor give me fluoride. When asked about the fluoride she said my insurance did not cover it. I thought that was strange because at my previous dentist’s office I was told that fluoride treatments were reinstated for adults up to twice per year. I was sorely disappointed. My teeth did not feel squeaky clean and I still felt plaque/tartar on the backside of my upper front teeth. The dentist: The short of it is that he did not perform a thorough oral exam. He said I didn’t have any cavities and I don’t recall if there were any teeth he want to “watch” in the future. I pointed out that I have an oral fibroma and if he could remove it during another appt. He recommended I see a specialist... previous dentist was simply going to remove via laser, however my insurance changed before this procedure was scheduled with him. Also, I pointed out that one small section of my mouth was sometimes sensitive (especially when being picked and prodded by dentist, floss, etc.) and he just gave me a prescription for a type of sensitive toothpaste. I didn’t know how to respond to that, but I was hoping for more than just a prescription. I’m hesitant to go back to this dentist/location, but I don’t know if my insurance will allow me to change during the year. Regardless, I will change dentist next year.

I would like to thank the staff and doctor at trinity dental for doing such a good job of taking care of me. I was like most people extremely nervous about going to the dentist and havent gone for years. Part of it is the fact I never had insurance. I was expecting them to see my mouth and make up all this expensive treatment that I couldnt afford. Instead the front staff which were super nice took me in, I had minimal wait which was surprising for a doctors office, and than I was given X-rays. The doctor who saw me was an extremely patient and friendly and easy to talk to guy. He seemed genuine and honest which is a huge deal to me. The back staff were so friendly and than it turned out I only needed a cleaning and 2 fillings which I was shocked as I was expecting a huge bill. Its obvious they arent here to try to gouge the patients. The cleaning the doctor did and he did an amazing job my teeth never felt so clean in my life. Thank you trinity dental, I dont normally write reviews but I felt so good after leaving here I had to let the world know that this is the best place. You guys have a patient for life.

I am not one to write reviews but have had such a great experience at Trinity Dental I felt the need to share it with the rest of cyberspace. I just noticed the 3 negative reviews and it seems they were all based on having to wait. I hate waiting too and never noticed a long wait the 3 times I have been there . I dont think I got called back right at appointment time but it couldnt have been that long a wait. The staff was so friendly, Tameka in the back who was friendly and communicating very well with what she needed to do. The Dr was friendly as well and explained what we were going to have done and answered several of my questions. He did what he had to do, cleaned my teeth well, told me I had a cavity, filled it and I was out in about an hour and a half. The staff told me how much I had to pay and how much was covered by my insurance I wasnt being sold a bunch of extras like the old office I was at every time with buy this or that extra.. All in all I was very pleased and will recommend these guys to others. Keep up the good work and I will keep going to trinity dental.
