I decided to get a running analysis at Utah Physical Therapy when I learned that they offered them to members of my triathlon club. Ive been having IT band pain but had been reluctant to go see a professional because of the cost involved. The running analysis went really well. David was friendly and personable and didnt even seem annoyed when I accidentally misinformed him about which knee was having IT band pain. He went over all the numbers and angles and everything from my running video and explained them in such a way that a non-expert like myself could understand what they meant. He helped me figure out what was wrong with my stride and how to fix it. I was honestly expecting to get pressured into a several-months long treatment program for my IT band. Instead, he didnt mention further treatment at all. I had to bring it up. When I asked for his honest opinion about when or if I should get a more complete assessment and treatment plan for my pain, he told me not to worry about it unless I didnt see improvement with the advice offered in that session. I really dont have anything negative to say about my experience with David and Utah Physical Therapy. If I do end up needing PT for my IT band or for any other issue, I will definitely be going here to get it.

Our experience with Dave Butler at Utah Physical Therapy has been exceptional! Hes treated my teenage daughter after a proximal hamstring strain through Askling Therapy and Astym. Ive been impressed with his optimistic demeanor, honesty, and sincere concern for people. Without question, I trust his knowledge, treatment, and ability to determine his patients level or aggressiveness of therapy. After visits, he emails a treatment plan with specific explanations (some videos) of recommended exercises - very helpful! He answers our questions openly and honestly at appointments and is quick to respond to between appointment emails and phone calls. His facility is in a great location and easily accessible from I-15 - very clean. Awesome PT! My daughters recovery has been timely and successful! Its nice to find someone you can trust with a teen daughter!

I heard about Utah Physical Therapy from a friend I exercise with who used them to improve his running form. Ive wanted to improve the way I run for some time, so It thought Id give it a try. David spent time explaining to me the process and then put me on the treadmill. He observed and filmed me running for about 5 minutes. We then pulled up the film and Ill be honest, I was a little skeptical and thought it was going to take a bunch of tweaks to get my mechanics into good form. Dave took the time to explain what was going on and offered clear suggestions for what i could do improve. He explained to me why my current form was causing pain in particular areas and gave me a game plan to get things corrected. Id highly recommend giving them a shot of your looking to improve your running form.

I scheduled a run analysis with Dr. Butler, but on the day of my analysis I was unable to run due to an injury from the previous weekends activities. Dr. Butler quickly shifted the focus of my visit, diagnosing the problem and guiding me through stretches, strengthening exercises, and general guidelines on running posture and gait to address my injury. On a return visit I found the office alive with a flurry of activity. Dr. Butler and his assistants expertly managed the scene such that I never felt like I had to wait for individual attention when I needed it, nor did I feel rushed at any time. Costs were very reasonable, with flexibility in payment options. The office itself was clean and welcoming.

I highly recommend visiting David Butler!! I went in for a run assessment and left with much more knowledge then I ever expected. The run assessment was great and gave me some good tips to help improve my form, my speed, and help an injury. I have been using his tips the last several weeks and have already increased my speed a little. What I was really impressed by is him asking about my injury and spending extra time with me doing an evaluation even though that wasnt what my visit was about. I appreciated him telling me what he thought might be causing the problem and giving me exercises to correct and improve. After all of these years and I think I can correct the problem!!!

David was amazing. In 10 months, I have been to 6 Physical therapists. I have sustained many injuries and did training for the Boston Marathon. I pulled a hamstring which led to other problems with my knees, IT band etc. The first thing David Butler did for me was analyze my running. He noticed my gait was off and that I had changed it to compensate for my many injuries. WIthin 3 times of going to him, changing my cadence/gait, being assigned strengthening and flexibility exercises and having him perform ASTYM on my muscles, I have been cleared and injury free for about a month and actually recently performed one of my best times for a half marathon. I am currently training for my first half ironman. Being a beginner triathlete, I sought out help from David Butler for a running analysis. The running analysis was awesome! It was so valuable to get one-on one feedback on how to improve my running form. With a few adjustments, I was quickly able to run at a faster pace while saving a lot of energy! David also gave me some areas that I can continue to improve upon to become not only a stronger runner, but to stay injury free as well. David knows his stuff- I suggest if you are training for any running distance event, or having pain from running to go see David Butler at Utah Physical Therapy!

I went in to Utah Physical Therapy for a running form analysis- both to help me run more efficiently and to keep me injury-free. The space was bright and clean with friendly staff, and the analysis I got was just what I needed. I warmed up on the treadmill for several minutes before being filmed, and then we watched the video together. Not only did they explain to me what ideal angles and forms look like, but they also explained the "why". Next they gave me a few easy, specific homework assignments I could do to help make those changes. I was very pleased with my session and cant wait to try out new things on my next run!

David is an exceptional Physical Therapist. He helped me recover from a shoulder surgery and now the shoulder is far better than I had hoped it could be. I can do pull-ups now. Couldnt before. Massage services are also available and both Dionne and Kelly are fantastic masseuses. Everyone else is superb and are friendly and funny and customer service oriented, making the experience fun and rewarding. Especially awesome is the admin assistant Kelly (not to be confused with massage Kelly), who kindly reminded me that I forgot to do a review like I promised. So here it is. See you next Friday.

I had woke up with intense back pain and spasms one night that continued. In desperation I went and saw Dave and told him because of that pain and sharpness in my knee I wasnt able to excercize at all. Before then I was working out 5 times a week. Within 3 or 4 weeks I was able to do everything that I was doing before! I was able to see my progress very quickly, and I was so amazed the first time I ran without having shooting pain in my knee! Dave and his staff are so personable, capable and gave me workouts that got me back to my old routine in a short amount of time.
