I brought in an 8 year old newly adopted dog that I got from the Humane Society. He was neutered the day before I took him home. He seemed pretty lethargic but the HS said that isnt unusual for a 8 yr old dog after surgery because they can take longer to heal. So I wasnt overly concerned until about 4-5 days later he suddenly developed a large wound on his side. His skin, hair and all just peeled off right in my hand while I was petting him. Of course I freaked out and brought him in to Community right away. I told the Dr what happened and the little background I had on him - she took one quick look and said, "Thats a burn; he must have burned himself on something." I told her AGAIN that he barley walks around and also that there is nothing that he could have possibly burned himself on. She then said, "I dont know what you want me to say; Thats a burn." And that was it! Well knowing for a fact that she was wrong and obviously unwilling to listen, I went to another clinic. The other clinic knew what it was right away (because they listened!)....It was a reaction to the antibiotic injection he was given during surgery. It all made sense; the timing, the location and him being so lethargic. They gave him some meds and he was good as new! Also, now we know to never give him Penicillin! Thanks for nothing Community!

I LOVE the doctors at Community Vet Clinic. I really, REALLY do. Its the receptionists I hate, and for good reason. My dog needed stitches on her paw. We dropped her off because the doctor was already in surgery and would take a look at her when he was done. FOUR HOURS WENT BY. I called and asked about the status and the receptionist said she would check and then call me back. 45 MINUTES WENT BY. My husband called and asked what was going on. The receptionist said "I talked to her and told her that she could pick up your dog at any time." LIAR. My husband was sitting next to me the whole time on the couch waiting for a call-back with me. The receptionist INSISTED she talked to me and left it as that. Then my husband just dismissed it and quick asked if our dog ended up getting stitches, and she snottily replied "I dont know. Im not back there." When my husband picked up our dog, he pulled the doctor aside and told her the problem we had with their receptionists. Unfortunately we didnt get any names, so there wasnt much she could do. Plus the regular doctor was gone that day, so she said she would leave a report for him to read about it when he got back.

I am happy to say that I received excellent service here today. I tried this clinic on the recommendation of my sister, who sees Dr. Thomas. I couldnt get in with him for several weeks, so I got a new patient appt with Dr. Crowley, who was fantastic. I wanted to try a new clinic because Ive taken my dog in the past to Companion Animal Hospital in New Berlin and have received less than adequate service and I wanted a change. Dr. Crowley was thorough, but quick, and i didnt have to wait more than 2 minutes in the waiting room OR in the little room. (At Companion - it was always over a two-hour ordeal - waiting in the waiting room, and sitting in that little room for at least an hour). At Community, Dr. Crowley reviewed my dogs records, gave him a thorough physical exam, was efficient and expedient and at the same time, I never felt rushed along. We touched on all the important issues, it was the perfect vet visit - (yearly checkup and vaccines) and I highly recommend it. I also thought the receptionists were perfectly helpful and friendly. I will be back!

This was my favorite Veterinary Clinic. My dog that had been going there for over 12 years. He was accidentally given pain medication that was fatal to him by a family member. Community Vet couldnt get him in to be seen, during regular hours on a Friday morning when I called. Friday evening I had to finally take him to an emergency vet. They asked that I take him back in on Monday to his Community Vet, to have his blood work rechecked. Well guess what, Monday they couldnt get me in until Wednesday. This is all because of an office worker there. She knows who she is, and she shouldnt let her personal life, be involved with her work life! My dog was an important part of my family, and I only wish the vets that worked there knew what she did, and how I was treated after taking him there since he was 4 months old. I will never, ever, return to Community Vet, and I have nothing good to say about it anymore. I will be using "The Spirit of 76" veterinary clinic that has been voted #1! Some people that want to be an adult, need to act like an adult!! Grow up!!

This is the second Veterinary Clinic Ive been to since moving to the Milwaukee area and I couldnt be happier here. Both Dr. Crowley and Dr. Meier are amazing. There was one instance in particular, when I was nervous about a lump near my dogs shoulder. Not only did they get me in for an urgent appointment that day, but Dr. Meier handled my dog with grace as she did a fine needle aspiration on the lump. Within 10 minutes she was able to give me the results that it was just a fatty lipoma with nothing to worry about. She even hugged me after because she could tell I was so worried :) Last but not least, this piece of mind didnt even cost an arm and a leg. I paid less than $70. I would recommend Community Vet Clinic to anyone who is looking for exceptional and affordable care for their pets. Theyre fantastic!

I had been taking my 2 senior dogs to the clinic regularly for check ups and services as needed. On a special trip because one of them had developed an occassional limp after laying down for a while the vet was feeling around the dogs knee joint and very noticeably caused my dog a lot of pain (later to find out the vet pinched a nerve into the joint). The vet prescribed a name brand arthritis medication that did nothing to ease her pain. She has not been able to walk without a limp since and we have found another vet to take care of our services. A previous visit with a different vet resulted in having to shave the entire leg of my other dog after many unsuccessful tries to draw blood. I will not take my dogs back to this clinic.

We have been bringing all of our pets to CVC for almost 15 years. The receptionists are always compassionate and emphathetic, and given the job they have to do - attend to dozens of frantic and neurotic pet owners like me every week - I think that is pretty amazing. And I ALWAYS feel like Dr. Thomas cares and takes time to talk with me about whatever we are there for. When I see my own physician, I get 1-2 minutes of their time. When I see Dr. Thomas, we get 10-15 minutes of his time. I am grateful to all of them for the care they have provided all these years and will be a loyal customer for as long as they choose to stay in business.
