Let me start by describing my experience in three words: incompetence, rudeness, greed. Now let me share the details. I had a fractured ring finger about 1.5 years ago. It was a complete spiral fracture of the bone that is situated in the palm of the hand. My hand doctor ordered a custom splint and sent me to this place. The therapist made the splint and sent me home. The first problem was that she made the kind of splint that left all my fingers exposed, in other words, she immobilized my wrist, but not my fingers, as the splint ended at the roots of the fingers. The first rule of immobilizing a fractured bone, is to immobilize at least one joint at each end of the fractured bone (something I learned in a high school first aid course). But she only immobilized the joint at the wrist. I pointed this out and she said it was fine. In about 3 weeks I accidentally knocked my fingertip against the edge of a table (doing normal daily gestures) and the bone re-fractured at the same spot. I went to the doc, who sent me back to this place. I explained and asked her to do a proper splint, that would keep my finger safe from being accidentally caught in places, etc. Yes, she wold do another splint, but this time Id have to pay. I pointed out the fact that my bone re-fractured due to the fact that the splint was inadequately made. She let em work it out with the rude receptionist who told me that shed have to charge for this service because its an extra service. At this point I didnt exactly say that my bone re-fractured due to her incompetence and that it was up to her to fix her own mistake and to hope I dont take her to court for malpractice. I kept this argument phrased more diplomatically, but they simply didnt get it. While debating about that, she also said that last time I didnt take care of my $20 co-pay, which I told her that I did. We were arguing back and forth and then I said, "OK, whatever, heres my card. Charge me $20 and when I bring you my credit Card statement, showing you that I already paid, youll have to dive me a credit." She happily took my card. After a few minutes she informed me that her system was down and said in a very rude and inappropriate tone that I got what I wanted because her system was down. She was making it sound as if I somehow broke her computer so that I would get away without paying. I got furious and steered the argument back to the issue at hand, which was my splint, which she still said the therapist would not redo from free. The therapist overheard the heated argument, which was happening in an open space in front of all the customers and walked up to me, lovingly, and said, "OK, why dont I just have a quick look?" So, now for the first time she looked at my hand, which basically consisted of her taking off the Velcro straps, looking at my hand for 15 seconds, and then putting the splint back on. She said in a loving tone that I should just be more careful not to bump my hand. At that point I was so tired about trying to prove my point that I shook my head and started walking out. Then I quickly heard the receptionist calling me, in a tone that sounded as if she was yelling after a shop filter, and said, "Youll have to pay!" Now she was arguing that, "She cant work for free," and that she just performed a service on my hand for which Id have to pay. Another argument erupted and it didnt go unnoticed that the therapist never once said, forget the payment, I just had a quick look. So, at that point, I admit, I lost my cool and told them both to go you-know-what themselves and slammed the door on my way out. How is it possible that there are three 5-star reviews and then me saying the place is so bad? Simple! Those people didnt have any issues, neither with billing nor with the service. However, the therapist did make a hand splint for me that didnt protect my injured finger and thus resulted in a re-fracture. And I tell the story of how I was treated when there was an issue to resolve, which was their mistake to begin with.

I came to 6th Avenue Park Sports PT after a hip replacement and in Edward found someone who was very tuned in to what my body could do and what I needed to do in order to have a speedy, smooth recovery. After a lifetime of doing various contact sports I have high pain tolerance and a tendency to push too hard so it was great to have someone who made sure the exercises were challenging, but not too taxing, carefully tracked my progress and held me back a little when needed. The results speak for themselves: after less than three months I can walk 6-7 miles, cycle 30 miles, and Im back working out in my boxing gym.

I was hit by a car on my bike and had extensive shoulder surgery done to repair 360 degree torn labrum, torn rotator cuff, detached bicep and frozen shoulder. Post surgery pain was brutal to say the least. I started PT with Edward 3 days later. He helped ease my shoulder into movements, gradually increasing mobility and strength. He was always patient, explained the exercises, purpose and desired results. Edwards work was invaluable to my progress. He is professional, knowledgeable and just an all around great person. Highly recommend!!!

I smashed up my wrist (shattered) pretty badly. Ended up with an external fixator which meant I was in bad shape. Boris at the Clinton Hill facility recommended I see Allison Sanchez-Masi. And I cant say enough great things about her. Okay...the physical results are amazing. Shes great to work with. Shes also great fun. She gets results, shes patient and shes the nicest person in the world. I went from virtually no mobility to near 100% in 3 short months. Amazing. Highly recommend Allison and Park Sports in general.

Edward is amazing! I came to Park Sports Physical Therapy after a labrum repair surgery. I was immobilized for almost 5 weeks with no ROM prior to seeing Edward. Long story short, after several weeks with him, I now have full ROM and strength, and am back to my everyday physical fitness routines. Couldnt be happier with my experience and the results!
