This rating is for the ER , I can not comment on any other department since I have not been treated elsewhere. I have been to Putnam ER twice. The first time I was taking my teen daughter. We were taken in after a short a wait and seated on a gurney outsides a mentally unstable mans room. I felt very uncomfortable and scared sitting there listening to the mans yelling. The nurse or social worker was asking him very personal questions which we could clearly hear. I mentioned this to a passing nurse who was leaving for the night and she said thank god Im leaving! That was just the beginning. We used the bathroom and there was blood on the floor The whole ER seemed dirty. I looked for someone to ask if we might have been forgotten. I understand ERs get busy but no one seemed to know who we where waiting for. After waiting about another hour on the gurney we left. I never even got a call to see what happened to us. Against my better judgment I went back! My daughter had a fall and hurt her knee. I thought Ill give them another chance. The ER was still dirty although not busy this time. The doctor was very professional and nice. The nurses seemed to not want to be there and were testy with each other. I think an orderly took her vitals. The nurse asked her medical questions from across the room so she had to holler the answers. We where there a long time. Maybe they are under staffed? Who knows. I wont be giving them a third chance.

One of the Worst hospital in USA in fact if I would say in the world thats more apropriate I had a chance to go to Emergency twice and they made wait for hours and should up a young doctor doesnt even know anything gave me a wrong medicine then next day I went to urgent Care for the same problem. Then on the second visit after waiting hours the same doctor showed up and made me sign the discharge paper without even giving me medication. I asked him and he said I am sorry we forgot isnt Wow.. Today at Tuesday 11th April 2017 I am sitting at the radiology department for my X ray. I am empty stomach since last night for this test my appointment was at 9:00am I got at the hospital at 8:35am to fill out the paperwork before getting my test done and its 9:40am and I am still waiting. I finally went to the window and ask the lady on the window at radiology department how long its going to take because my appointment was at 9:00am and on my request she called the concern people and tells me to wait for another 30 minutes. Isnt Wow... I just wish there was some minus ratting

If you need any kind of orthopedic surgery, Dr. Joel Buchalter is the very best. A few years back he operated on my right rotator cuff which was very damaged and returned me to 100%. A short while ago I needed the same rotator cuff operation on my left shoulder and am now in physical therapy expecting to again return to 100%. Both Dr. Buchalter and his PA Carmine treated me with the utmost respect and care. The nurses and staff also work very hard here but take the time to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Personally, in my case I feel I have received the same quality care that one might could get in any New York City or big city hospital without the hassle of dealing with the city. And by the way, parking is free.

We were referred by hudson valley hospital for my dad to get blasting of his kidney stone and directed to the hospital. they made my dad do all the tests, kept him there 7 hours and at the end said, "sorry we cannot do this procedure, come back next week..." Then the urologist there, called my dad "you know, you are the biggest pain in the *ss" wow. thanks so much for nothing. we ended up being discharged and now we are trying to find a hospital that can help my dad with pain. its been 3 weeks now and no help at all. basically, they charged his insurance, collected money, and sent my dad on his way....so avoid at all costs.

Hospital is great, I used to leave in Yonkers and used to go to Valhalla hospital for the kids or my wife, had to wait I bit long but no much to get looked at. But Carmel hospital bit it, I can believe how fast we left the building cuz as soon as u get there they call u in and a doctor shows up almost 5 min after is great no to have to expend almost a whole night waiting, great work. Wish the best David Monroy

They are so freaking lazy they dont know how to take care of their customers I was been waiting for 2 hours in that little emergency room and no one came what the hall is this what if some one is going to Die are they going to let him die on that little room if you want a tip do not go there you will not like them I mean Im paying them money they should give me fast costume service.

I havent been there yet, but you would expect anyone answering the phone to have some sort of basic phone answering ettiquette. IE not yelling at you when you dont know what department a patient is in, transferring to different departments only to end up in the same department 3 times, and then hung up on. Once I find the right superior to talk to Id hope this would be fixed.

My wife almost died from the improper care she got at another hospital in the area. Thanks to the emergency room doctors at PHC my wife was properly diagnosed properly and operated on the next day by two great surgeons. Dr Rojas and Dr Calica. The staff, yeah the whole staff, on the third floor was great.

Worth the trip from danbury. I was in so much pain i almost crashed but frankly, danbury hospital is that bad. Been to Putnam county 3 times and they are totally competent and seem to care about patients. who knew this is whhere the bar would end up for excellent service .. but most ERs are awful.

I am very grateful for all the amazing staff at Putnam Hospital from the ER where I was admitted to the ICU staff and finally the 3 North staff. I owe my life to the care that I received there. Amazing, professional and caring staff

The doctors and nurses in this hospital murdered my mother, they unplugged her life support They are murderes, if you bring your family member here they will KILL them They are killing people to sell their organs They are murderes

Stay out of 4 North. My husband was left unattended to in great pain twice. The care was not professional, not consistent, and I slept on a hard "sofa" to make sure I could advocate for him. Stay away!

Had my son there 20 years ago. He was the only boy born that week. The nurses put him in the middle and had all the baby girls around him like a king. :) The maternity staff was wonderful.

Had a knee replacement by Dr. fauser and stayed at 4 north , every single person that walked through my door was pleasant and cared about me the staff was TOP notch !
