I moved to Maspeth in 1982 and ever since that time have brought all of my pet companions to Dr. Raider. As a multi-pet household, this means that Dr. Raider has cared for my beloved canines Candy, Tara, Samson, Lucky, Lucky II, Happy and my adorable and spoiled feline Tiger (23 yrs.) from birth through their final moments. Currently he cares for my 11 year old puppy mill rescue Sweetie and Animal Care Control adoptees long-haired felines Boobie and Honey Boy all of whom are in excellent health thanks to Dr. Raiders care which is very affordable (no, not cheap but not over the top expensive. If you love your pet, beware of "cheap" health care. You are toying with their lives). As a matter of fact, Boobie has a bowel condition that requires an occasional butt cut to keep the anal area clean - Doc performs this procedure every few months without charge. Dr. Raider is an up-to-date excellent doctor who is straight-forward and honest. He explains a diagnosis in easy to understand details as well as the recommended treatment/procedure and any options. He performs all treatments with knowledge and skill and compassion for both the pet and caretaker. In addition, I also admire and trust his staff all of whom are helpful and compassionate, especially: Donna (receptionist/assistant) whom I have known since 1982 - friendly, capable, and extremely knowledgeable she has patiently answered many a panicky phone call from me, helping to calm me. Phil, is a gentle "giant" of a young man who is helpful, very kind and most gentle when he holds and calms a pet as they receive treatment. He has offered me assistance on numerous occasions as I attempted to juggle multiple pets from car to office to car. Donna and Phil are amiable and offer a smiling greeting when you enter the office. In addition to medical treatment, almost every year I have boarded my pets with Dr. Raider and they are clean and well cared for when I arrive to take them home. I enthusiastically recommend Maspeth Animal Hospital to anyone who loves and cares about their pet companion(s).

UNDER NEW AMAZING MANAGEMENT! From these old reviews and reviews on yelp, it seems that a lot of people didnt have a good experience with this location. Dr. Elizabeth Anilionis is now the new doctor in charge. This was my first visit with my dog here and everyone was super nice. They made us feel very welcomed and talked to us with plenty of respect and excellent bedside manners. Dr. Anilionis was very informative with everything she was doing with our dog Julie. Her entire staff was also very understanding and accepting that Julie is a beagle/husky mix that was very nervous and howling/whining loudly. She was very kind to Julie and never once harmed her during her treatment. She didnt once force any unnecessary tests on my dog. She would mention all of the tests that can be done and for what but she made it clear which ones werent necessary and made it clear that it was my choice if I wanted them done or not. Even when I rejected some of the tests, she didnt make me feel guility about my choices in the slightest. She respected my decisions. Dr. Anilions mentioned that they have made upgrades to the clinic with many more to come. All of the bad reviews currently on Yelp are from the past doctor/management and this animal hospital should be given a new chance to prove itself. Dr. Anilionis is now my vet of choice for the years to come with my dog! My Yelp review sadly got filtered but its the same as this review.

This place is the worst possible Vet you can ever choose to go to. I decided to take my pet here because their website prides on their Google reviews ( which happen to be great) but I shouldve looked them up on Yelp first to see the true reviews of this place. Most of thier google reviews dont even have names to them, which lets me believe that they are all false. Dr.Raider is very rude. He doesnt let you finish any of your sentences and always talks over you. He makes sure that in the current situation you, the customer, are wrong and dont understand anything about your pet. Customers have every right to ask questions and understand the situation but Dr.Raider rudely interrupts all the time. He would rather let your pet die. He does not care for his patients. His own words were, " Its not my pet, its yours!" Which lets me know that he does not care for the well being of your beloved pets. The receptionist here will give you false information on prices/tests needed for your pet because they are not educated in that field. The receptionist will say one thing, and the doctor says another, bringing your bill up way high. These people are only in it for the money. Please, think twice before sending your loved one here! There are really better places to go in Queens. These people will give you a hard time. Dr. Raider truly sounds like he hates his job so why bother going? Give him a break and dont take your pet here.

If I could give zero stars I would. The vet was super rude as soon as we walked through the door. My cat was not in a carrier because we know 103% that she would never jump out of our arms. She follows us around the house and clings to anyone who picks her up. Its hard to even try to get her on the floor, and he told us that we would lose her one day even though we told them how she acted. They talked to us like we didnt know anything about our own cat. We also asked questions about shedding and he snapped at us and rudely said "cats shed and thats that" instead of giving us any advice. The appointment lasted literally 5 minutes and they handled her so roughly. She is such a calm and small cat, she weighs only 8 pounds and they forced her head down against the table. I would never bring any of my pets here ever again even in an emergency. Luckily, we had a free coupon and didnt have to give this horrible place any of our money. I wish that I read the rest of these reviews sooner, I wouldnt have put my cat through that terrible appointment to be handled like a 100 pound dog.

Dr. Anilionis is the best! We followed her from her old practice because of the great care she gives our three rescue pitties. We went from a 5 min walk to a half hour drive and I would drive further if necessary. My dogs actually pull me to get inside if thats not a testimonial for you! Dr. A and the entire team at Maspeth Animal Hospital are so loving and patient with our dogs-- two of whom have bad anxiety issues. She makes them feel comfortable and treats them as if theyre her own. She also takes a lot of time explaining whats going on and she lays out clearly all the different options for moving forward with an issue, so you dont feel backed into a corner or pressured into extra or unnecessary care. Im pretty sure that any negative reviews here or on Yelp are from the previous vet, before Dr. A came to Maspeth. I cant imagine anyone giving her anything but 5 stars.

DR. Raider is the best vet ever! Im so happy I found him and hes in my neighborhood! We have been seeing him for a few years now for my crazy jack russell terrier and he has always took excellent care of us. We have had my dog vaccinated and neutered and it all went perfectly. Everything from my dogs skin infections to his limping, Dr. Raider has been there to save the day! Being the crazy dog mom I am, he always takes the time to answer all my questions and I have full trust in him. His prices are very reasonable and always takes the time to explain each test or procedure he may have to do. His office is very clean and his staff is excellent too. Donna (receptionist) is a total sweet heart and always there to answer our questions, shes so polite and makes us feel like she truly cares. If only they took patients of the human kind I think he would be my doc too :D !
