We know there is a circle to life. Good veterinarians help us live through the joys and sorrow. We bring our pups and kittens for their first exams, live with them many happy years, tend to their needs with age, and eventually need to say goodbye with thankful hearts for the good times. The folks at Garden City Animal Hospital have been our partners in the care of all our pets since Dr. Dattners arrival over twenty years back. Humanity, compassion, intellect, sincerity are not just words, but are in plain evidence on every visit. There is a feeling of comfort when you know your pet is receiving this level of care. You recognize the commitment to the pet and the pet family runs deep within every member of the staff. They are on your side, they are at your side taking joy in your happiness, and again when the circle inevitably closes once again. They are constant, steady, and reliable friends to all that come through their doors. They earn the trust that we place in their care. Super friendly staff. Understanding and very helpful. Mary, one of the assistants, in particular, is AMAZING. I rescued my pit/boxer baby when she was a puppy from an abusive home. Ever since she has been very stranger aggressive and very over protective of me. I was sooooo scared to bring her to the vet...afraid she would bite someone or just bug out in general. GCPAH gave me a sedative to give her and have a private entrance for difficult dogs like my lil monster. Mary was the BEST. She was great with Rye....the first stranger Rye hasnt growled or barked at. I was a wreck the whole visit crying. Mary was sweet and answered all my questions and gave me so much information about how to move forward. She took an experience I was dreading and scared of and so upset about and actually made it a positive one. She rocks.

Dr. Gary Dattner has been my Veterinarian since 1991, and for the past several years, adding Dr. Joey Silverman and Dr. Jennifer Steiger to my Veterinarian Team, they are the only ones I place my complete trust. With my own family dogs, all of the dogs I rescue and re-home and even my outdoor cats, they are truly a part of my life. Their combined talent is by far the best. They work with me, and we make decisions together on the care and treatment of my pets and those dogs in my rescue organization. I highly recommend them and they are the reason I drive from Babylon to New Hyde Park. Distance has no measure for the right care for my 4-legged family members.

Both of my dogs have received excellent care from the staff & vets at Garden City Park Animal Hospital. My girl Shelby has had multiple health issues since being run over by a SUV in May 2011. She has had 2 ACL surgeries which were performed by Dr. Dattner. She was walking without any evidence of a limp 2 weeks after each surgery. She has had other health issues which have been quickly assessed whenever I call to seek help for her. My girl Daisy always goes to Shelbys appointments to keep her sister company. The staff is incredibly caring to both of my girls which means a lot to me!

For over 12 years, my dogs have been under the care of the vets at Garden City Park Animal Hospital. Their practice manager is always ready to lend a hand, the technicians are well seasoned and the front desk is commanded by staff wearing smiles under great pressure! Doctors Dattner, Steiger and Silverman always have time for my dogs and for that reason, we are so grateful! As a local mobile groomer, I had a hard time finding a veterinarian that had the same passion and care for animals that I have... But when I met Dr. Silverman and his staff I was finally pleasantly surprised and amazed.. he diagnosed my toy poodle Pixie and helped her when many vets could not.. he truly pays attention to everything about your pet and does not give up where many have. What a gem.. Thank you GCPAH for your true dedication to helping out beloved pets.

My cat HATES going to the vet and always acts out. Dr. Dattner was the first vet ever who was able to keep him calm through his exam. Hes the cat whisperer and that makes him the best in my book.
