My wife and I have been bringing our three cats to Levittown Animal Hospital since 2009. The service there has been excellent…when Dr. Leon and Dr. Fuentes were our primary doctors. If this review would have taken place anytime in the past 6 years I would have given the hospital a five-star rating. After Dr. Leon and Dr. Fuentes left, the practice has changed for the worse. Here’s where we welcome Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz, employee as of 8/16/2016. Let me preface this review by mentioning my wife and I loved everything about Levittown Animal Hospital prior to our visit on 9/18/2016, when Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz saw one of our cats. We’ve spent thousands of dollars on X-Rays, MRIs, etc., based on the legitimate recommendations of Dr. Leon and Dr. Fuentes for our three cats with various health issues including Chronic Rhinitis, COPD… the list goes on. Our most current visit was to renew a prescription for the cat we brought down to Levittown Animal Hospital. We met with Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz on 9/18/2016 for the first time, and after discussing the numerous prior visits and circumstances regarding our cat she requested blood work which we agreed to, but insisted on performing an additional unnecessary test which we declined. However, after we refused the additional test, Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz performed it anyway without our consent and then billed us for it. We did not review the bill until when we got home and immediately called the hospital back that day, Sunday, September 18th. It took Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz until Thursday September 22nd, 2016 to return our daily calls – and she had her secretary proxy her response for her. The outcome was that she made her secretary tell us that Dr. Sorowitz was right, we were wrong, and we are no longer welcome to bring any of our pets to Levittown Animal Hospital, and then told us which new vet we want to send our files to. Just to put his into perspective, this was over an $80 urinalysis test. There was no discussion about why this misunderstanding occurred. There was no attempt to have a civil discussion in an attempt to rectify the situation in any way. We were just banned from Levittown Animal Hospital thanks to Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz. This is how Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz, employee of Levittown Animal Hospital (for 1 month) treats patients of 7+ years. I have nothing against the other doctors at Levittown (though they’ve never treated any of our cats), but this is a warning to any current or future customer – If you let Dr. Jennifer Sorowitz perform any veterinarian services for your pets then you do so at your own risk – and this is simply the opinion of a long time customer of 7+ years who was banned for questioning a bill.

Our 11 year old dog Rocco, just had his front paw amputated 2 weeks ago at Levittown animal hospital , under the care of Dr.Nunez. He was diagnosed with bone cancer last January and were told to amputate then but we were just so nervous to put him through such a big surgery like that. Not to mention the word AMPUTATE scared the crap out of us. 8 months later (2 weeks ago) Roccos shoulder blew up and he was in terrible pain. He could walk but , just seeing him walk was devastating. He couldnt even lay down without constantly trying to get comfortable. He literally had no relief anymore. I brought him to Dr. Nunez and was told How agonizing his pain was. Clearly , it wasnt fair for my poor Rocco anymore. He told me that I had 2 choices, amputate or euthanize. He explained very clearly that this surgery will make Rocco pain free. It was very hard to believe but, we put our trust in him and went ahead with the surgery. When we brought Rocco home after the surgery and all the meds wore off, he was a new dog!! I didnt realize how quickly he would be pain free. He literally went under amputation surgery and was walking around the very next day happier than Ive seen him in months! Its UNBELIEVABLE! Its week 2 now and We just got Roccos stitches removed. Bottom line is, this surgery that we thought was the scariest thing wound up saving our dogs life.. Many would say were crazy to do this to an 11 year old dog but when you have a dog thats not ready to go , you do what you have to do. It just goes to show how strong dogs really are. To anyone out there that is hesitant about getting this surgery done please dont be. Its a miracle surgery for your pet. Dr. Nunez is amazing. I really believe That he whole heartedly cares about every animal that comes into his practice. Hes got my dogs for life

NEVER, NEVER use this place. I would give a negative rating if possible. I dropped of my 1 1/2 year old dog, Dash, while we went on vacation over the 2016 holiday break. Prior to dropping him off, he was checked by their in house vet. During the visit with the in house vet, they sedated Dash, as they claimed he was anxious. We inquired about the medication and were informed that it would only be used if necessary. We dropped off a healthy, playful dog. We called in during our vacation and were told he is doing great and getting along with the employees and other dogs and eating well. When we picked him up, he was sick. He was listless, had diarrhea w/ blood in it, was walking strangely and was growling at us. He had lost weight, he had a scab on his nose. We were told he was anxious. We did not think much of it at that time. Then we noticed that the sedation pills were almost empty. We called and were informed that the Dr was giving him 2 doses daily of the sedation pill. Our dog stayed sick for several days after. When we complained, Dr Nunez told us this is normal protocol, as we was anxious. We have boarded him at other pet boarding places him on several other occasions for longer periods of time and never had trouble. Dr Nunez insisted that they did nothing wrong. So, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use this place if you love your pet.

I brought my 18 year old cat in because she was lethargic and looked very ill. At her age I get nervous that her time is almost up on this Earth so I took her to Levittown Animal Hospital on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. For the first time in my cats life, and for me, the staff and Doctor made me wait outside in the waiting room while they took my cat into a room and I had no idea what was going on. They claimed to me that they gave her all these shots, which I was not made aware of. No consultation given. No explanation as to why my cat was so lethargic. Sent me home with some pink stuff in a bottle and told me my cat was ok. My cat was not ok. I had to take her to another vet. I was told that my cat had a thyroid problem. I was also told she had to have a bad molar extracted. I do not recommend the Levittoiwn Animal Hospital to anyone. They bilked me for over 300.00,, and had the nerve to say I owed them 170 dollars more because they FORGOT to bill for a second senior panel that I did not consent to. Not allowing me to be in the examination room with my pet was a red flag. Do not go to that facility if you want proper veterinary care for your pets. ALL GOOD REVIEWS ARE DONE BY STAFF OF THE HOSPITAL!!!!!! DONT USE THESE IDIOTS!!!
