My 18 year old miniature pinscher Hobie passed away a week ago. I was blessed with a healthy dog for most of his life. I credit my diligent annual checkups and shots, blood work ups and teeth maintenance for his healthy life. A year ago, one morning I noticed he was having trouble walking. I took him right away to Dr. Parver and after blood tests were taken we found out he was in acute liver failure. His readings were 6300 and normal is in the 100 range. He was distressed and it was very sudden and a blood work up less than a year earlier was normal. Dr. Parver and his staff started treatment immediately. Hobie stayed in the hospital for 8 days, and Dr. Parver got his liver levels down to the 600 range. I was relieved and took him home with some strict food guidelines, a couple of short term medications and a box of Denamarin, which further brought his levels down to the 200 range. My dog recovered from this near death experience and I had another year of life with him. I credit that all to Dr. Parver and his amazing staff. Eventually, although his heart and spirit stayed strong, his little body gave in and I had to let him pass. Thank you Dr. Parver you and your staff are truly amazing and I am forever grateful.

Professional, Respectful, and Friendly This is by far the best veterinarian I have been too. The staff there are amazing, they are always kind and helpful. The office is clean as are the exam rooms. They are always very gentle with the animals. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain all treatment options to you. Dr. Parver, whom we bring our pets to, is always a pleasure to speak with and to bring my pets to. I think the best part about this place, unlike other veterinarians, is that they actually give me an estimate with the treatments that they will perform as well as letting me choose what needs to be done. They also take the time to explain the various options, costs, and risks associated with each procedure. Other veterinarians I have been to in the local area never explain my options, the costs, and risks. Other veterinarians never give me an estimate, I just want to know how much it will cost. Perhaps other veterinarians care more about the money or maybe they want to make sure that the animal gets the treatment or maybe both. Not this place. They explain your options, costs, and risks, they give a recommendation, then they let you choose. Highly recommended.

Dr. Farber & his staff is terrific!!!! I called Dr. Farbers office late on a Saturday night and his emergency service had him call me back in less than 5 mins time. I told him my dogs eye was completely shut and explained to him the not so terrific experience I had with a 24 hour urgent care vet in Forest Hills. Dr. Farber met me first thing Sunday morning at his office and weighed all of the possible options I had that would be in the most beneficial for my dog as well as what would be the most cost effective for me. I had 2 options..... Remove my dogs eye or take a risk with a third eye flap surgery and try to save my dogs eye, no guarantees; but he was optimistic that the surgery would work..... I went with the third eye flap surgery and sure enough a few weeks later and my dogs eye has been saved..... Dr. Farber and his staff were really so wonderful....... They made me feel so comfortable about leaving my dog there (who had not left my side in 9 years).. They took such excellent care of him and even called me to let me know how my dog was doing..... I am so grateful that I brought my dog went to Dr. Farber and that the surgery we would take a risk with really did work! Amazing....

Expert medical care for your pets. Truly humane and cooperative staff. There is a tone of kindness in this practice that is unparalleled. Dr. Parver is highly educated, and his team is made up of warm, down to earth people who treat you with a respect and dignity I have never experienced in any other vet practice. I brought my beloved, elderly cat to him when she became ill. His diagnostic skills are superb, he shares and explains everything to you and his compassion for his animal patients is written all over his face and demonstrated by his gentle interaction with them. I would not bring any pet of mine to any other veterinarian. Dr. Ed Parver is a true one of a kind gem! I thank him from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful care he gave to my beloved cat, and the gentle, kind guidance he shared with me.

I have had pets all my life & have been to many veterinarians from Astoria to Long Island. I have finally found the one I am truly happy with and trust 100%. They treat our pets as if they are their own, never over diagnosing or testing, always offering every option. Dr.Parver makes himself available, responds to calls, & takes the time to explain & truly listen to all your concerns. The staff & other veterinarians are wonderful & I wouldnt go anywhere else. Their rates are the most reasonable I have found to date for all their services & products, but the main reason I continue to take my dogs and birds there are because I trust them.

Although its a small animal hospital, I really love it there. The prices are reasonable and they refrain from doing unnecessary procedures to save money for their clients. I go to them for all my animals and I dont have a problem with anything thats done. One thing I love about this hospital is that they take in all types of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, rodents, reptile, including wild animals such as injured birds, or squirrels and they rehabilitate them so they can be released back into the wild. This is definitely a great hospital that you should think about bringing your pets to. *2 thumbs up* :)

We have a disabled dog and Dr. Parver and his staff have been just wonderful in caring for him. Caring for Andy requires a lot of time and attention, and much more involvement due to his disabilities. Whenever we need to leave him overnight, we are always confident that he will be treated just like he would be in our home. Andys disabilities leave him prone to various medical issues and Dr. Parver has always been able to not only diagnose and treat these issues, but has also helped to prepare us and to educate us what to look for. Recommend him very highly!
