Do I begin with the 9 dogs and 2 cats that I have brought to Dr. Adams over the past 20+ years? Or do I start with the 5 ACL repairs, numerous spay/neuters, dog with cancer, dog with stomach issues his entire life, many masses removed, or dog with Cushings? I think the best way to explain how much I appreciate Dr Adams and his staff is my Harleybird story. Harleybird was under Dr Adams care for 9 years. I then drove my 3 dogs across country to live in Vegas. I found a Vet I liked, just in time, because Harleybird became ill from an enlarged spleen. The Vet removed it and I was under the impression he would now be fine. Unfortunately, he died in my arms, 3 days later. Devastated, I asked the Vegas Vet to help me understand WHY this happened. I needed to be able to move forward and know I made the right choice getting the surgery. Not only did he not return my calls, but when he finally did, he just said, "it happens". As a dog owner, you know that is not very comforting. All the while, I was in phone contact with Dr Adams, as we were often discussing my dog with Cushings and my dog who suddenly had kidney problems. Finally, I had them send Dr Adams all the medical reports. He called me and explained the possible reasons why Harleybird did not make it. THIS is a Vet who truly cares about the animals and people he has in his practice. Medford Animal Hospitals staff is by far the nicest you will meet. Whether it is on the phone or at the office, you feel like part of a family. Speaking of which, Dr. Adams daughter has also become a Vet. To me, that speaks volumes on the dedication and compassion for animals that must be in their DNA.

"Thats what I do. I throw pills at everything. Thats how I make a living." Not Happy At All!! Expensive and meds for everything. We brought our 15 week old pit mix rescue puppy (who we had only had for about a week) in for his first check up, plus he was also very itchy. He was the closest Dr. and we had read some good reviews. The Dr. had prescribed two different types of oral medication to be taken 2-3 times a day, plus a special shampoo. $150+ that visit. A week later the medication did nothing and the puppy was still itchy. We brought him back in a week later for a checkup, along with our 5 year old pit mix. When we told him the medication didnt work, he wanted to prescribe more drugs, and actually said "Thats what I do. I throw pills at everything until the problem goes away. Thats how I make a living." We said thats not our belief, that we didnt want to give him any more drugs, and suggested that it could be allergies, dry skin due to climate chance because he came from the south, or even even his diet. The Dr. recommended Purina, Science Diet or another "Name Brand Dog Food" for both of our dogs. We called him out on that and said that all those foods are well known for being terrible for dogs and being loaded with animal by products. His response was "Well all dog food is garbage anyway, thats why its not human grade." We told him we were going to stick to the more healthy diet we were already giving him, and had been working for our other dog for years. The second visit was $212+. $40per dog for the examination fee alone. Going back to Grady in Sayville.

Our little cat Gioia(Italian for Joy) suddenly became ill last summer. We had taken her to one vet who could not explain the real issue ,so we took her to Dr Adams. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, calling up a specialist to discuss the findings on our our behalf and in determining the cause of her sudden decline in health. Unfortunately she had developed lymphoma of the kidneys . Dr Adams did everything possible to help us save her and keep her comfortable during her illness. Dr Adams was caring , kind, and compassionate, not only to our little Gioia , but also to us. I would highly recommend Dr Adams for his expertise, knowledge, and going the extra mile for the animal , and the owner. We are thankful that he was there to help us during this difficult time .

Extremely knowledgeable Doctors for your loved ones. Their bedside manner is fantastic and their prices are fair. Dr. Jessica takes care of my pups as if they were her own. Love knowing that I have people like them on my side when my dogs arent 100%.
