I feel disappointed with one of the nurses ( Emily Thompson) who helped after I gave birth for couple days for 10 weeks ago on 8th floor. Some other nurses helped me good but only one nurse made me feel sick. She told me to walk to the hall way get water by my self and if I need to take shower or anything I take the baby to the nursery by my self. She also asked me walk with the baby around the hall way to make my health recover after gave birth while I only got 2 hours sleep at night because I took care of the baby. I told het I moved and walked alot in the room but she asked me have to walk around the hallway. Really? After gave birth I had a lot of pain and she asked me walk like a strong person? I didnt see any one walk the hallway why I have to do thar. What school taught her to take care the patient like that? After the baby came out I passed out 2 times in bathroom , my health was so weak then I had a bad cough and cold but she treated me like that. But I wonder I see no one walked with the baby around hallway why she asked me do that? She didnt help me to bring water and change diaper for my baby even one time during I was so tired. So shes there for what?? Why the other nurses are so nice, they helped me brought water without my asking. Some other nurses helped me changed diaper for baby, why this nurse was so different? The way she talk to a patient very rude make me feel terrible.

If there was less than one star I would give it! We went to emergency as my husband had horrendous pain low in his throat and could not eat or drink. They would not listen. They kept talking strep (tested clear) or virus even tho we repeatedly told them about his gerd etc. Basicalky they said they would not scope his throat or get a gastroenterologist unless he had to spit rather than swallow. So they told us to get a throat spray and lozenges and sent us away. Another ghastly night and I spent the morning trying all the numbers they gave us for ent with no luck. Finally I went to our hotel reception for help. They did everything they could and got advice to go to Mt Sinai. They were amazing and did so much and finally admitted him for endoscopy and have him on a drip. So NYU - you made us lose a day when he could have been treated. You dont listen to your patients and now my husband cannot swallow at all. He is in agony and needing pain relief. And we dont know when this nightmare will end. I wonder if NYU treated us so disainfulky because we are Australian ? Would showing them our bank balance have helped? Was the travel insurance not security enough?

My 1 month old infant had nose congestion from common cold. The pediatrician Dr. Dennise Heon never sucked my sons nose, never did physic exam on him, never checked his vital signs and symptoms, Instead he asked a chest X-RAY to be done on the One Month Old infant! So he can diagnose my son with Pneumonia and prescribe antibiotics, Even Though my baby didnt have any sign of Pneumonia; his lungs were clear, he had no fever, his blood oxygen level was from 97 to 100. Dr. Heon denied my request of viral test by saying "its a thousand dollar test from us" and he assured me the viral test would be negative. (He was wrong! I had it done with a different doctor and it was RSV virus) In order to put my infant on Xray, Dr.Heon even threatened me "He cant leave here without an Xray!!!" so we did Xray which showed the babys lungs were clear without pneumonia. I have the urge to quest "have you no Authenticity sir, to expose my baby with unnecessary radiations, even though you wanted to help the business of radiologist and drug company! Some people are too smart to work in the medical field, so smart that they no longer need a heart......

I m in the medical field as a psychiatric nurse and I have been in every hospital on long Island and some in the city . I screened patients for further care that were referred for further psych treatment. When I had to assist my brother for getting care for a serious neurological injury that needed immediate care and his current neurosurgeon was dragging his feet. I researched and was impressed by Dr. Pecione a neurosurgeon at NYU Langone. I made an appointment for my brother to be seen. I explained his medical situation and they instructed me to go to the ER if certain symptoms developed. Which they did. I brought him to the ER were they evaluated him and admitted him . They performed the surgery without any complications. They repaired a fracture in the cervical are of his spine. The care that was given is beyond words. The hospital was immaculate. The care from the staff was the best I ever seen. I will seek treatment at this hospital for all my family and myself for any inpatient care. I live in Suffolk County and will travel if able.

I had two knee replacement surgeries at NYU. My surgeon Scott Marwin is brilliant and did a great job. The support staff, is horrible many are not proficient in English. After I woke from my surgery my bladder was bursting. they kept me waiting for nearly one hour for the bedpan, the male nurse was so annoyed that he had to help me, he thrust the pan under with such force, the pain was terrible, then he kept me waiting for another 45 min. to remove the pan. you cannot imagine how painful this is after surgery. He managed to spill the contents of the pan on the bed. so I asked him for a new sheet or least a paper sheet. He told me there where none. I asked him for ice for my swelling knees he said there was none. This is not the care you want coming put of surgery. The pain meds they give you. simply do not work. I dont know where they are manufactured. but they do not work. the toilets reek of urine. when I complained to the cleaning woman, she could not understand me, as she was Russian. say away from this place it is dispecible.

Unfortunately Ive had overnight stays in Buffalo, Rochester, Chicago and San Francisco hospitals. I have never ever stayed anyplace as disorganized as NYU Lagone. Most of the staff is completely incompetent. If you give me a medicine Ive never taken before and I ask you what its for and you say that you know know?....that doesnt make me feel safe. There are no rules. Its about 12:30am and the guy next to me had his lights on full blast, tv blasting and is snoring so loudly that I cant imagine anyone is sleeping. Of course the nurse will not turn off said light or tv. I asked a PA if she could close the shade to block some light and she said "uh, thats a nurses job", Im sorry that youre too good to kindly close a shade that a bedridden patient cant, Youre not pretentious at all. This place is just a dump, and I hope I never have to return.

I was discharged after an ER visit turned overnight observation to see if my normal appendix needed to be removed. Then luckily, instead of that they treated me for a UTI that I did not have. The scan of my body showed the real problem, a hemorrhagic cyst on my ovary, that no one seemed to care about. When I called back to voice my concern that I was still in immense pain and bleeding profusely, the doctor I finally got put in touch with over the phone had zero advice on what to do, leaving me to guess if it was serious enough to come back to Langone, and HUNG UP ON ME when I honestly told him where the blood was coming from. Now six months later I am getting billed a second time? The worse part about this whole thing is that while I was in the hospital everyone was really nice and I trusted them to help me.
