On a Saturday my husband had an accident which required interior & exterior stitches. We VERY SPECIFICALLY ASKED the Receptionist at the Care Center - Do you take emergencies? And, Can you stitch up something this big? Yes was the answer & Due to the size of the cut we were told we would be given the next room. He was covered in paint and had dirt from a railroad tie in his cut. "Triage" was making sure we had insurance, taking his heart rate and being told again that we would get the next room. They did not check for concussion, check his jaw which he complained about, nor did they check his elbow which he also complained about and no one offered to clean the wound. 1-1/2 hours later we finally got into the back. We were told this was not a procedure room - we would be moved when the doctor was available. After about 50 minutes - I finally went out to the 6+ staff members and asked "What constitutes an emergency? My husband has a 2 inch gash in his face that is filled with paint, creosote and dirt (even a staff member - when he finally came in, said he could see nerves and the bone). His wound was finally cleaned with saline only and 20 min later a PA finally numbed the area. We were never moved to a procedure room - rather a floor lamp was brought to the room. Let the stitching begin ... Who assisted the PA?? A nurse? CNA? One of the 6+ Staff members? NO - ME!!! I ran to the other side of the room to get tissues to blot the blood running down his neck & got more tissues when needed. The PA did an outstanding job with the 3 interior stitches and 7 exterior stitches, the scar looked good. Tylenol was giving for pain and while we discussed the possibility of an antibiotic to prevent infection - none was given. My husbands elbow or jaw was never checked for a break. His eyes were not examined for concussion. At check out we were told we owed a co-pay. I told them that we did not since this was an emergency accident. The cashier insisted we did. I called Memorial to lodge a grievance. While the very nice the patient advocate took the info I later received a letter that refuted all of the above along with the timeline - stating everything was done in a timely matter. Unfortunately for them - I had been texting family to let them know what was happening in real time - and everyone had a time stamp. Cant wait to see how they will answer that. And by the way - my insurance said we DID NOT owe a co-pay. Memorial Hospital said they WILL NOT return the co-pay. Anyone considering this place for emergency care should RUN TO PENROSE/ ST FRANCIS HOSPITAL

I was traveling to Colorado for the holidays when I got a terrible sore throat, headache and sinus issues. I went to this urgent care on a Tuesday, two days before Christmas at 8 am, immediately when they opened. I believe I was the third person in the door. The registration process was smooth and very fast. They issued me a mask to protect others. I felt things were off to a good start. The triage nurse swabbed me for strep when she got my history and I mentioned it felt like strep. They then roomed me and thats when the bad experience started. I sat in the room for 45 minutes before the doctor came in. He came in like a whirlwind and told me he had good news, I didnt have strep. He said I must have the flu and it needs to take its course. He said the more complete strep swab would need to go to the lab and I would hear back about it. I asked about meds such as tamiflu or antibiotics and he told me I should take OTC meds to manage the symptoms, then rushed out of the room. He looked in my throat but not in my ears or anywhere else. He literally spent 4 minutes with me. I then saw him checking emails as I left the building, so I couldnt help but wonder why it took so long and why my visit went so quickly but I was satisfied that I would get better soon. Things progressively got worse until Friday of the same week when I went to another Urgent care. Mind you, this ruined all of my plans over my Christmas vacation as I spent most of the time in bed between the visits. They found that I had a sinus infection and they were shocked that the initial exam wasnt more complete. They were surprised that I wasnt offered antibiotics the first time. I assured them that Memorials Urgent Care lost my business and they (CSHP) won me over. They prescribed a simple Azithromycin Z Pak over the course of 5 days. I literally improved within hours of the first dose, and was 80-90% better by the end of the first day. I know that anyone can miss a diagnosis but I think this was shoddy care. It was hurried, incomplete, and left me miserable for a lot longer than necessary. In fact, I still havent heard whether the second strep swab was positive or negative. I hope the facility takes this feedback and works to improve.

Worst urgent care Ive ever been to. A waste of a copay just to be given incorrect medication and told to go to the emergency room. If I could have afforded the emergency room I obviously would have went there first. Dont bother unless your symptoms are VERY easy to diagnose (ie you could look online and do it yourself) because they will not go out of their way to figure out what is wrong with you. Their testing equipment is very limited. 0/0 Would not recommend. Also, it took me 3 days to figure out I was on the wrong meds because they dont contact you with test results(UA, one of the only tests they can do), you have to call them. I was hung up on 2x before I could reach someone and was told "Sorry, it looks like you dont have a uti. Do you still have sympotms?" YES I still have symptoms why else would I be calling? "Well if you still have symptoms you should go to primary care or the emergency room or check back in with us." Again would not ever recommend this place to anyone. If theyre the only place open, just wait til tomorrow I promise you will be better off than wasting time and money here.

If you have a giant sign on the outside of your building that says "Urgent Care" then I think its presumable that the business in question will bill my insurance company as an urgent care. Instead, Memorial Hospital Urgent Care decided to bill my insurance company as an outpatient visit. So, at first I got a 270 dollar bill, which I assumed was a fluke. My insurance company usually covers UC visits at 100%. So, my insurance company said theyd handle it. Now its 54 dollars. A lot better, but not what Im looking for. After calling my insurance company and MHs billing, I then had to get a conference call to set it straight. They told my insurance company that they bill it through Memorial Hospital. I think insurance the rep helping me about died from the absolute stupidity of MHs policy. Dont ever go to this Urgent Care. If I walk into a building labeled as Urgent Care, you better bill me correctly. Frankly, seems like false advertising and its super deceitful and disgusting of Memorial Hospital to do this to a patient. I wont use MH if I can help it.
