Dr Rook is a decently good doctor. Somewhat brief and to the point, but decent nonetheless. His reception staff, on the other hand, is absolutely abysmal. I had to get a prescription refill for migraines (Fioricet) and it took them over 6 days to get the paperwork filled out and sent back to Target on Elsinger Blvd. I was hung up on twice by the receptionists when I called to confirm that they had received the faxes from the pharmacy. When I wasnt hung up on, youd think that I was pulling their teeth by the way I was treated. Eventually, four days after the initial refill request, I had to show up in person to ensure they actually received and handled the refill request paperwork. It took over 45 minutes, with most of the time spent waiting on the receptionist whod walk off for unspecified reasons, leaving the front desk phone ringing. During that 45-minute fiasco, I had to call up Target twice more to request re-faxing the request (because I guess the receptionist couldnt be bothered to call them) which they promptly did. After two more no-shows on the faxes (for a total of three tries that day), Target suggested doing a phone refill. I told the receptionist that the pharmacy would now be calling to arrange a phone refill. What happens next still baffles me: Target calls and the phone begins to ring. The receptionist ignores it for a bit, I mention its probably Target calling, then she picks up the phone, puts them on hold, then turns and faces a wall and begins clicking her pen. Not dealing with paperwork, not using the computer, but clicking her pen and staring at the wall. After a good solid minute of uncomfortable silence (with the pharmacy still on hold), she gets up and walks off without saying a word. Needless to say, the pharmacy got tired of being on hold and the phone stopped beeping. During the time the receptionist was absent, the phone rang twice more and went unanswered. The reception window went unattended for another 15 minutes, by which point I had sat down and other patients had arrived. The receptionist finally returns from god-knows-where, checks in the line of patients, then tells me theyd "found my refill request" and will have Dr. Rook look at it "when he can". It was still another 48 hours before Target received the authorized refill. I hope you, dear reader, dont take heart medicine or blood thinners, otherwise you might have a medical emergency before you get your refill. Dr Rook: if youre reading this, fire your reception staff. Get some new ones that take your patients and their needs seriously.

Dr. Rook practices medicine with genuine compassion for his patients, listens, never making you feel rushed. Such qualities are rarely seen in practitioners these days. I too, went to Banister Lieblong clinic for a sick visit, soon after relocating to AR from TX. I was truly in shock at the overall lack of professional conduct. The physician I saw came across very arrogant. They have a fairly nice new office & thats it. I could care less about office decor. IMO, seems the fancier offices have some of the worst MDs. I have, and will continue to refer others to Dr. Rook. (I never had trouble with staff -his med asst was a little unpredictable from one visit to the next- but she is no longer there. It seems others reviewing had staff issues, so thought worth mentioning there have been some staff changes since this time last year.)

I have been with Dr. Rook for almost 20years. He delivered two of my three children (back when he delivered babies). He has been the physician for all of my kids, they have never seen another doctor. He has been my only doctor. I see him for everything! He has NEVER been anything less than professional. I have referred many people to him and they have all thanked me, citing him as one of the best health care providers they have seen. Even before I started seeing him, he was family physician to my (now ex) husband and his parents for many many years. I have always been able to get a same day appointment. The staff is always so pleasant. I never have to sit in the waiting room very long. I have no complaints. Just thanks for a wonderful physician and support staff.

Dr Rook has been our family doctor for about 30 years and in all that time he has always been there when we needed him. I wouldnt be here now if not for him. He first detected my prostate cancer in 2007 through PSA test results. He got the ball rolling and I was declared to be cancer free in 2012. He is attentive, a good listener with professional manners and excellent staff. He doesnt rush/hurry one through their appointment like some Dr.s do. The kids are grown now and have moved away but my daughter still flies to Conway once a year to see him.

Dr. Rook is a doctor who will actually listen to the patient and help. His staff is great! I agree with one review that referred to Banister-lieblong clinic (sp?) where you feel like a number where nobody really cares to listen. Dr. Rook gives the attention that you need a d deserve.

The good: doctor Rook has always done a good job treating me. Listens well and doesnt rush you in and out. The bad: The staff was hit and miss in the past but the last few times Ive gone they have been great. Doctor Rook has always been great however.

Dr. Rook really helps my grandmaw and when she moved down here he really listens to her. There is alot to be adressed with her and she needs the help and he provides when she needs it. Alot needs to be done and she is on the right path so far.
