We have gone to Burlingame Family Pet Hospital for years, Dr. Frank is reliable, and I always know that my pet will be healthy if I go to see him, BUT I think Dr. Frank is much better with dogs, or larger animals. He has a very gruff demeanor, and probably is more of a "mans" vet. I am 19 and when I brought my 5 month kitten in, I left feeling like a bad pet owner and a stupid teenager. HOWEVER, this is definitely NOT my normal experience with him. Whenever we visited him with our dogs, he was very nice and very reasonable. I think my experience stemmed only from the fact that I am a young owner, and probably that I was worried about my pet. In a pinch, I would definitely feel safe with Dr. Frank, but in the future I will definitely be bringing my pets, and business, elsewhere.

Service is sub par. Go to Sage nextdoor instead. My wife took my dog, but I had to call to see if my dog was ready to go home, even though they said they would call. They said he was ready, but I waited almost an hour to get him, despite no emergency patients coming in and the report they sent to my vet was incomplete. They also didnt have the simple eye drops that they recommended for my dogs apparent dry eye, and when I went to the vet to get it, I had to pay for a comsult, and my vet did a test that revealed my dig didnt have dry eyes at all, but just sleeps with his eyes partially opened, which isnt solved with drops. Goto Sage next door instead. It is phenomenal.

Dr. Merrill is one of the best veterinary doctors I have come across. He is no nonsense doctor. This is not a place for Paris Hilton, its a place for her dog. The entire staff is conscientious, knowledgeable and concerned for the well-being of our animals. I trust my dogs and cats will be well cared for here.
