10 Stars from me. My family has had to solicit the services of the AETC a few times. Things to be ready for when you visit; 1) They prioritize patients based on severity, which is completely understandable, just be ready to be bumped. 2) They expect payment. Expect a huge quote/down payment/bill ($1000.00). See below for feedback on pricing. Now to the point, the staff are experts in the field. They are compassionate, friendly, and have the best interest of your kids (animals/pets) in mind and at heart. They get results! From having to put down an animal suffering from cancer related issues, to both a cat and a dog ripping off toe nails, to the most recent, a pup with pneumonia. Every time, they treat us and our kids with respect. They also treat us the humans, they relieve the anxiety of the emergent visit. It’s not just our kids that aren’t feeling well, we humans tend to be crazy emotionally too. I wouldn’t normally rebut those providing poor feedback, but in this case there seems to be an overwhelming trend. Owning pets is expensive. As I read the comments, the poor reviews appear to be from folks that mention an inability to pay for services. I think it’s important to remember that you don’t volunteer your time at your employer. There is an expectation that you get compensated for your time, usually in the form of money. Now some might say the price is high, well it’s true, look at the cost of a regular doctors visit versus an emergency visit for humans. To that point, emergency clinics have to provide services on site that regular clinics don’t. They have the latest and greatest technologies on site which isn’t free, they have to pay skilled professionals to use that equipment which isn’t free. If you think they are high rollers, check the parking lot, the employees aren’t driving fancy cars, the building isn’t the newest, shoot they just recently put up a fence so they had a secure place to walk the animals outside. It is obvious they strive for care. I’ve been there, trying to figure out how to get my animals care while single and unemployed. But it isn’t the responsibility of the clinic, it’s mine. I know it sucks to see your kids struggle. AETC, thank you all for your service, dedication, and your compassion.

If I could give a 10 star review to make up for the 1 star reviews, I would. The staff and service we got was exceptional. The staff made it as painless as they could for us and our cat. The downside to living on the peninsula is that we are limited in locations that provide emergency pet services. We called three locations in our county. The first location told us no because they only take one pet per vet per night, the second told us to come back at 2am (it was 5pm when we called) and AETC opened the doors to us. When we arrived, we were given a clean waiting area to sit in, and given a room within 30 minutes. They offered us coffee while we waited and tried to make the ordeal simple each step of the way. The total process was about 90 minutes despite four families checking in before us. It is a shame that our cat ended up in the situation that he did but having a rainy day fund is a huge need for animals. I would never fault an establishment for requiring that I pay for the service my cat up front. When they told me what the issue was over the phone, I price checked it online. The national average is $2,000. They charged $2,300 but took $100 off of the original $1,600 that we paid. Is that a lot for a cat? Yes. Is it the cheapest in the county? I dont know...the other two places wouldnt get us in. Our cat is spoiled with plenty of vet checks through the year, a filtered water fountain, spends 99% of his time inside and enjoys $60 bags of Orijen cat food. While I love that our primary vet is 3 blocks from our house, and gives exceptional care, its great to know that AETC is here for the nights/days that he needs extra care. Dr.Burgess and the staff were professional with each visit and call.

On their webpage it says.. The place you can take your pets when they need help.. What they dont say is that they will not DO A DAMN THING until they have secured payment. I took my kitten in there, she had been poisoned. They let her sit there and convulse with tremors and they let her keep her high temperature until that money was signed off for. When they came to me with an estimate of almost $800 (WITHOUT EVER LOOKING AT HER) and I told them I could not afford that, they told me basically tough. They were not going to help her without that secured payment. Because they were the only ones open, there was nothing I could do. I told them, they were essentially killing her. They said.. Dont worry, if you cant keep her in the hospital, you can treat her from home. BUT HOW WOULD THEY KNOW?!? They never looked at her. They talked down to me, they acted like money was the only thing that matter.. My kitten died 6 hours later.. 6 hours of suffering because they wouldnt even look at her. I WILL NEVER take another pet to this place again. And I will be making sure that everyone I know, knows not to go there. Places like this should be shut down. They take advantage of a person during a very vulnerable time. And they do so without any care or concern. Ive been a pet owner my entire life, this was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. and NEVER have i dealt with a vet that cared more about money than they do the animal. I Normally do not do these reviews. However, people need to be warned not to take their pets to this place. Take the extra time to drive all the way to Steamboat Island over by Shelton. At least then your animals will be taken care of.

receptionist was professional and caring that would be the only positive thing about this place. Vet assistant was only concerned with securing your sig on a quote. (no care was given for my pet until this was concluded. Vet was even worse! 15-20 min later I was allowed to see my pet after they had "cleaned her up and administered a catheter". the only thing they had appeared to do is stick her in a cage. Told to wait for a phone call to let me know about tests in 20 min to an 1 hour.. Never happened, I returned to take my pet somewhere else and was told she was "doing poorly" I insisted on seeing her and the answer was "Shes dead" Cold, callus and unfeeling delivery! Had I not insisted on seeing my Hannah, I have no doubt I would have been charged for her continued care. I incidentally called this place by accident thinking this was another vet I had dealt with before with satisfactory results. I cant help but wonder if I would have taken her somewhere else....This may sound like a rant... It is, however, as a person whose pets are part of the family, I feel an obligation to warn people. To the receptionist, find a better place to work and thank you.

First off... it is the only place close enough to go at night for an emergency for my pets. I am relatively new to the area and my dog got unexpectedly chewed up by another dog I was dog sitting. It was 10PM and I couldnt stop my dog from bleeding for an artery had been nicked. Most of the local vets have this place listed in emergency contact. I made a phone call they answered and said come on in. The whole process took about 3 hours from start to finish. They offered me two choices on the bill as to the level of care I was looking for and it didnt break my bank account. He ended up needing surgery so the little hole turned into a big hole and then got stitched up. My dog is alive because of them and I am grateful. Receptionist super nice, Vet tech super nice and a hottie, Vet slightly aloof but approachable once the ice is broken.
