I recently had to put my 18 year old cat down which was obviously very difficult. Rod Gilger was the vet that helped us. He was so compassionate and caring during this very rough time. He allowed me to hold my cat and administered the injection while my cat was in my arms so that the cat wouldnt be upset or frightened. I was able to pet him and stroke him and just tell him that i loved him until he just slipped away. Rod patiently took the cats heartbeat over and over when I asked him to. I just wanted to make sure that he was really gone before I left him. Rod was so kind and patient. It made the ending to my beloved pets life humane and dignified. Rod also saw my cat a year earlier and I was really impressed by how reasonable the price was and how he didnt try to talk me into a bunch of expensive tests, shots etc. that we really dont need unlike other vets that I have been to in the past that try to take advantage of the fact that you love your pet. I would highly recommend Rod Gilger at PetVets to anyone. I found out that he is a third generation vet since his father and grandfather were vets. It certainly shows in his knowledge, professionalism and compassion for animals as well as their owners.

I have been coming here for years, beginning with their location next to Wal-Mart. There have been growing pains and naturally not every experience is perfect, but all in all I love them! Consider also that it takes a bit of research to find what is wrong with your pet. This is not an exact science, and if you have a sick animal you are likely already in a very bad humor. I have tried different vets (simply because they were closer to home) and have paid much more for much less. Their prices are very reasonable when compared to other veterinary services, and I feel like the complaints about their fees here are unjustified. I have had to have several animals put down over the years, and I received no less sympathy and comfort when I had to have a pet rat put to sleep than when I have had to have a dog or a cat euthanized. Lots of different doctors, open on Saturdays, try a few different vets at this location. I promise you there is one here who will suit you.

i was charged nearly $400 for a set of badly done x rays, inconclusive findings and sent off with a bottle of pills for my dogs foot. the problem has recurred and Im going to another vet. when they were smaller they were nicer and reasonably priced. i hated being charged for their new unused floor space. took my dog elsewhere and had better service for half the price. id only go back if they use the same surgeon as they had when they were off Riley. all in all they ripped me off. back at square one, with $400 hole in the vet budget.. i retrieved all my animals x rays and records from pet vets and will take and refer all my business elsewhere.. good luck with the new square footage and the new prices. even the meds were unreasonably marked up. the x rays twice the cost of my other vet, not to put a price on my dogs health but they robbed me and had no clue on what the problem was. it would prob cost me $1000 to get an actual finding.

After trying four Vets in the area we were left hopeless to find affordable care for our 6 month old Yorkie-Pooh. We went to Dr Amanda Pierce here at Pet Vets of Folsom and were helped immediately with our pups issues. The whole staff was friendly and seemed passionate about helping animals. Dr. Pierce herself took an instant interest in helping our dog, and treated him like he was her own. Not just finding expensive procedures to charge us with. Overly reasonable and tremendous value for our money.

True animal lovers.... and in my opinion the best vet in Folsom. Dr. Joe has to be one of the most compassionate and caring vets in the business. His wonderful treatment treatment of the Pet Vet patients and their owners is unlike any other Veterinarian or human Dr office ive ever experienced. I cant recommend visiting Pet Vets and Dr Joe enough and I think youll agree hes the best.

I am new to Folsom and I recently had a very sick kitty. Even though Dr. Tish had never seen my kitty before, she treated him like one of her own. The rest of the girls who saw my kitty are extra special, too. A truly professional group.

Ive been standing outside with my loving pit for 20 minutes now because they wont put their lobby cats away. Its worth the extra 100 dollars to go to blue ravine when they treat us differently and make us stand in the heat this long
