User Rating: 5 out of 5 stars by Rusty 02/17/2011 I discovered this wonderful vet hospital by trial & error. After moving to Escalon in 2004 I had to try 10 different vets in Modesto, Oakdale, Manteca, and Stockton before finding this one. Some vets were dreadfully over booked with screaming animals, etc. Others had poorly qualified vet techs, smelled bad, and a couple even hurt my cats. When my dogs needed parasite control I decided to try yet one more vet; thereby discovering Dr. Melissa Noakes. Everything about this place makes me happy. The reception, the vet techs, the doctor - each is a professional focused on caring for my animals. The veterinary technicians who have worked with me have appeared to be more qualified than certain vets Ive encountered. This kind of dedication to the professional medical responsibility towards animals is not common! That is why I am so pleased to find a vet hospital that has that special aura of competence merged with caring. This tells me the staff are a team; not just a group of people working at a job. That is really a special thing to attain; the harmony of each person cheerfully doing what needs to be done. It gives me the sense that someone - doctor, owner, etc. has created this special place. As if a conductor was behind the scenes. Parasite control is a primary concern because my dogs go everywhere from training classes to chasing barn cats at the dairy farm. After my German Shepherd developed a nasty "hot spot" last year (because I lapsed one month on flea meds) I make sure he gets an application every month. The broad spectrum drug Revolution is expensive and requires a prescription. The Manteca Vet Hospital sold me a 7 month supply of Revolution at a price I cant beat searching online. For my collie a different med is necessary because of a genetic sensitivity to ivermectin and selemectin (in Revolution). Dr. Noakes again came through with Comfortis and Interceptor - again at good prices. Ive only purchased meds online, and from Canadian drug stores, because other vets charged too much trying to generate additional revenue streams. But since this vet has fair prices I purchased 6 month supplies for the collie. Parasite medications are co important! You just dont ever want your dog to chew its fur off with a flea outbreak, carry a gut full of round worms or, God forbid, get a heartworm infection. My review is a very sincere effort to alert you that this place is not like most local vets. Im 61 years old and have had cats for 25 years, now a service dog plus a puppy in training. If you want a calm, professional, loving facility where you may take your animals --this one is highly recommended. Thank you.

Dr. Noaks (I believe was her name) was very professional and knowlegable. They were no cheaper and no more expensive than any other vet around. The staff was caring and friendly. I was able to get in the same day for my older dog who took a turn for the worse. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Very happy with our 1st experience here. We were worried how our pup would do getting his nails trimmed since he is very nervous in new surroundings. It was quick and they did a great job. The office is clean and staff is friendly. This will be our regular vet from now on.
